I was thinking that myself. 2/3 the fun he seems to have is just doing projects. I think the biggest mistake he could possibly make with this is if he tries to put it into a permanent unchanging setup. He needs to set it all up so he can do something new on things or keep modifying and tweaking to make and keep things interesting for himself.
I built your stand for my 50g acrylic tank, wrapped it in pine wanes cote, trimmed with cedar thin lining wood. Glued wanes coat boards together to make doors, to me I love it. Thank you for showing us how to do things, greatly appreciated!
Love the vine wall look!! Btw i always forget to mention but they sell door stoppers for the actual hinge instead of screwing it to the floor. If you use the hinge stop it goes on the middle hinge of the door and it wont create a trip hazard on the floor! 👌
So happy for you. Your excitement is so good to see. 3 things. 1) Rules are meant to be broken, so do what imagination wishes you to try. 2) Absolutely love the plant background. Think it would look great with the live Pothos. 3) Almost cried seeing the Oscar rank in shambles. Lol.
I pretty much stopped doing water changes on my heavily planted 75 gallon. Only time water came out, and got put back in, is when I NEEDED to vacuum the substrate. I somehow got it to be self sustaining for the most part.
That corner tank not being able to be full of water always bothered my eye. I love the oscars schoaling so tight it is cool. Like this current upgrade for them. Great video!
JOEY..... cover the wall with the plants then get a couple of large rocks to have them jet out from the wall with the plants to break up all the plants
When my kids were small we had a 10 gallon tank with 8 betta in it - all males - started together when they were very small and lived together and would display but never fight. Not sure why it worked but it was fun! They did have lots, and lots, and lots, of decorations to swim around and lay on and we never added any other fish.
Exactly. I thoroughly enjoy the DIY KING. But why put them through that stress? It just doesn't seem like it's worth stressing them. But I'm no pro. So I guess I could be way off base?
@@BigStevesGlassBoxes they arent really that stressed, its just a change in behavior given a new dynamic. if they were truly stressed they would decolor and lose appetite and be incredibly skiddish.
Each Fahaka puffer has its own personality . So keeping friends or food with it is possible , but it depends on the puffer . What worked for me was I added my puffer last to the tank . I had a large school of mollies and a bulldog carnivore pleco for clean up . The puffer after introduce to the tank never killed anything unless it was introduced after the puffer . The pleco and puffer would fight over food but the puffer would hurt the pleco . I use to hand feed my Fahaka and it gain my trust enough to pet him . I use to rub it's belly from the side. Never from the front , well atleast if you enjoy having your fingers .
You can always still do the rock wall from the ground up to about 24-36 inches and cut up those plants you have hanging on the wall spread them out so they look like they're underwater plants like seaweed. I have a friend who put his Fahaka Puffer with his Flowerhorn and it's been almost 8 years and they still are doing just fine. My friend said the only thing that happened is their appetite grew probably because they see one another as competition. My family was asking if Bryan Barczyk was going to hook you up with your reptiles for your gallery? Either way, it's coming along nicely and we're looking forward to seeing the finished product......GL Joey!!!
It looks as though they are attempting to look like one big fish to Tyrese. It's pretty obvious they see him as a potential threat. And the King surveys his realm. :D
but joey, you say that you only want to do this once, while we all know that at least you will revisit it at least once, like you always do! ;) keep making the great videos!!!
Go with plants on the wall. I'm sure in the past you did a fish shop tour where plants coming out of aquariums was amazing. I tried to find it but to many lol, it was at this point I realized just how long you have had me tuning in. I've been here watching your content for 5 year's cheers for entertaining me 😁
Your Oscars are beautiful they’re really kind of regal looking. I am so enjoying everything you’re doing. Where is (Tamara) (spelling is it correct)is she staying out of your way or is she just too busy helping you and probably making sure you take care of yourself and eat . 😂
I love the wall of plants all over the place Make it look like the jungle and fake snakes birds and mood lighting proud of you joey I could see u struggling at home but hey good luck on your new adventure
This is going to be epic. Even though ill never be able to visit as i live in the UK. I simply cannot wait to see when everything is all set up and you finally have people coming in. Keep your dream going man, its certainly putting a smile on my face as well as a bunch more people too :D.
This gallery made me join! :) best luck during making new gallery! As of „what shouldn’t work but it work” i have one answer- Senegal bichir with discus. Every discus entusiast will turn red by only thinking about weird fish with discus but if you ll think about it- bichir comes from shallow waters which most time of a year are really hot just like discus need hot water, bichirs are slow eaters and many times there is a difficulty to feed them when they are kept with CA or africans, with discus you have no problem. I have pair of discus with Senegal bichir in black water tank and it looks amazing, beautiful cetner piece fish and an odd one looking like weird child of fish and lizard :P both discus and bichir are albino
Well I added a oscar to a 3ft tank and after 2 years added angel fish, the Oscar was alone from birth and people informed me that the angels wouldn't survive and they did surprisingly
Hey joey watch out with what people put in your tanks! In some public aquariums like in an tank of predatory fish some guy put some stuff in the aquarium and killed alot of fish so wacht out for that but great video joey
The oskars behave in their natural habitat to protect themselves from enemies and then act like a big fish. :) Interesting to watch that in an aquarium. And the puffer fish is unsure whether it is a fish or not a transformer. :D
I’ve a blue male betta fish with 4 dwarf pufferfishes! I’ve never seen them near eachother not one of the fish has nipped fins or anything. Both of the species just live their life, and I love to see it
I was told I couldn't keep corydora catfish with my orandas ... but they go great together and my catfish are always spawning ( I have babies now ) The new gallery is already looking absolutely amazing 🙏 👍
I've been watching all videos I love all the Fish you have. You opening a public Fish is really nice for the community. My Dad gave me this phone a couple months ago
An idea popped up while you were panning over the entire room from the stairs. That "loft" like space above that entrance or closet on the right, might be a a place to have a wall sized Paludarium, with beautiful tropical plants up there in the sun, overhanging the wall and into a large shallow tank with more plants, water or maybe a reptile/amphibian enclosure. Just an idea. Cheers from Arizona.
Hey Joey I have been watching you for a good while now and it is great to see you doing this new project and taking your time and testing. But we know you are going to change things, it's just in your DNA man😂
Give us videos when you want to give us videos, don't forget you have to love making them as well, don't burn yourself out to please someone else, take care of you first and your happiness, then worry about the rest! ❤️
Both my super overgrown guppy tanks haven't had water changes in over a year. Parameters are great. Tanks look like overgrown gardens but the fry have lots of hiding places.
I have 2 Stars and Stripes puffers in separate aquariums... and eventually they will kill most everything in the tank with them, not at first but eventually they will... keep an eye out for that brother! Keep up the good work 👍👍👍
You know you should do like a live rock wall like a rock wall with moss growing on it and some other plants in random areas. Then have water dripping down it to keep it all alive. I feel like serpa design would be really good at this. It would also be a really awesome collab vid!
For the light mounts @ the gallery, I would run cable or small chain from the top of L-bracket to the end of the wood to stop them from eventually sagging. Just an idea.
Great video 👍🏻 Those Oscars fascinate me!! If I were you... not that I'm insinuating I've got anywhere close to your experience and knowledge with Oscars...but... I wouldn't do anything to mess with it. They look not just healthy but vibrant, my favourite tank atm 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve kept a black ghost knife (still young and growing until around 25cm) and a Peter Alexander elephant nose together in a 150L community tank, they didn’t often bother each other but it wasn’t unusual for them to be swimming along together whilst foraging
Have a tank with several African Cichlid Peacocks, 4 Mbuna, 1 red tail shark, 1 jack dempsey, 1 Senegal bichir, 1 Red Devil. Been together for over a year and still working 😁
Glad you seem to be enjoying what your doing a lot more. Also I love puffers! hands down the most personable fish type I have come across. Biggest pain in the a**s to but totally worth it.
I had a couple meet me (they're customers where I work) at a Fish/reptile store, and they had done what was considered impossible: They have a big school of small tetras in their 530 gallon aquarium with their Stingrays and Arowana. They just have a ton of hiding places.
I keep a fully grown frontosa with a 10 inch common pleco, 3 3 to 4 inch clown loaches and a 5 inch African knifefish. Idk if that’s supposed to work but they thrive together

The background looks good: Just keep in mind that any "textured" wall will be a dust magnet.
That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw it.
The plants on the wall is a nightmare. It will ruin the drywall and turn to black mold with the moisture.
I've been watching you many years. I'm so happy that you have puffers now, they are so different from any other fish. Like tiny sea monsters.
I built your stand for my 50g acrylic tank, wrapped it in pine wanes cote, trimmed with cedar thin lining wood. Glued wanes coat boards together to make doors, to me I love it. Thank you for showing us how to do things, greatly appreciated!

I think When they swim together they appear bigger to the puffer and makes them work together for "protection" and feel safer
I pretty much stopped doing water changes on my heavily planted 75 gallon. Only time water came out, and got put back in, is when I NEEDED to vacuum the substrate. I somehow got it to be self sustaining for the most part.
I was thinking the exact same thing
That corner tank not being able to be full of water always bothered my eye.
I love the oscars schoaling so tight it is cool.
Like this current upgrade for them.
Great video!
How are the koi doing? Gotta be getting warm enough to swim with them soon!

Outstanding job on the stands. Could have been a joiner mate but glad ur committed to promoting the aquarium hobby. I tip my hat Sir
Looking good!! Maybe plants rocks plants rocks, plants on outside of the tanks, rocks where tanks go into the wall.
If I ever get the chance to holiday from the UK to Nova Scotia I am defo putting your gallery on my bucket list joey. Just fantastic 😘

Ive kept angels with mabunas 😅 absolutely perfect
I've often wondered about doing that myself, but was always too nervous. Interesting.
Wow, I bet that’s natural Oscar behavior in the wild when predators are present.

Can’t wait to see everything fully set it’s going be amazing 😍 . I’m definitely making the trip from BK , NY 👌🏻
I am amazed at how far you have come on the gallery in just two weeks. Great Job, Looking forward to the tanks to start arriving next week .

The place looks better and better every bay! Love from Hungary!🥳
Nice to see everyone getting along 👍🏼
With the plant wall, one thing you might consider is a different paint color...it looks kind of off with the bright blue behind the curtain there

Yay!!! He's getting friends!
(Also ilysm and i don't think I've ever been this early)

Btw your oscars are Amazing they look so beautifull * ^ * and i love em seeing like they are in a group that's so cute^^
Joey keep this combination, the hounds are tamed ❤️

Literally the king of diversity.
You got everything in terms of fish 🤣
I lv it though lol
the misses would kill me 🤣🤣
I think this oscar-puffer experiment is brilliant.
Great update , I don't like the corner of the 700G at a heavy traffic area , prefer it on the back wall
the shell dwellers always keep me wanting them.. one day.. although those oscars .. never seen them so close together swimming.
Those Oscars are beautiful. I love the red on them.
