I cant believe such a beautiful and healthy planted tank could be working so well with no Co2 and also with no many other requirements. I think Maggie has done an amazing job there. I'm just looking forward to get my tank like that. Great video. Greetings 😊.
Hello! Hi Kaity and Maggie - you are the best! Thank you for this program/show/video/aquarium-fish tank experience! Very nice, and it sems that in Down Under the best aqua scapers/fish lovers and fish tank keepers are females! You are cool! And nice fish, lovely plants and tanks! Have a nice day, keep inspiring other people! /Mats
5ft aquascape is great. I may have missed something, but I didn't see much flow in the nanoreef. Its always a shock for your first reef how much flow they can handle. "Low flow" for your softies is typically recommended at 20 times an hour "turn over" between all sources.
Beautiful scapes and great choice of fish (Those CPD's and The Agazzi's Oh my!) I loved the Joey, Ohio rescue and The American tour itself! Keep it up young lady, Your such a doll, I say that with mad respect. Subscriber, Liker and Bell ringer...........Frank
Nice setups! BTW, that little green thing in the saltwater tank is Chaetomorpha linum, usually just called "chaeto" (pronounced "keeto"). It's a very useful algae, as Maggie noted it's usually found in refugiums. It pulls nutrients from the water as well as serving as a great environment for microfauna like copepods.
Maggie’s planted tanks are cool as. I’m mainly a reefer, have a few saltwater tanks but I do have 1 oversized 5ft freshwater peaceful community tank & if Maggie wanted to rehome her Cherry Barbs from her waterbox I’d love to give them a home
Mbuna all the way for that other tank...I wish I had spare tanks to wonder about fish stocking, but then again, I wouldn't want all the extra maintenance that goes with that wonder!
You were using fluval fx6. Can you please tell if you bought it in Australia or from somewhere else? If from Australia then whether its 110v or 220v? As far as I know voltage in Australia in houses is supposed to be 220v.
That 5 foot is insane. Truly beautiful. Maybe one day I'll be in a house or an apartment where I feel comfortable enough for a tank that size. Also, Kaity, I think it'd be a good project for you to start a small planted tank. Nothing big but just getting the feel of it. No fish, just plants. I dived in with two feet when I first started this hobby and to date, I have still not been able to grow Jungle Val. It's fascinating really because I initially bought it cause everyone says it's easy! My recommendation, however, to replace your valliseneria is dwarf saggitaria. Much easier, somehow and is my most prolific plant.
I've tried a few planted tanks but they never seem to stick for me 😩 Maybe one day though! I'll never say never. I might even try my hand at a terrarium at some point soon 🤔
So much fun! I love these little fish room tours 🙂! I didn't see any rainbow fish and I know you have access to Nick who can get you some amazing specimens. That would be fun to see in that WaterBox tank!
Hello Kaity, Thank you for the effort you put into your videos. Question please: How come hang on the back outside filters aren't very popular? I've seen canister filters on your tanks. In this video, Maggie has a sump filter. Is it because the hang on the back outside filters don't offer enough room for biological filtration? Thanks
Hi there!! Thank you so much 🤗 As far the HOB filters go, yes, it's mainly because they're quite small because they need to be light enough to hang on the side of the tank. They are really just the same as a canister filter, but attached to the side of the tank. Some people might also opt for a canister filter to hide the filter underneath the tank too
I can sympathize with this young ladies father My niece cleaned out all my driftwood stash then invited me over for dinner then had me aquascape her new tank and somehow now has a dozen of MY cardinal tetras and a pair of my angel fish . I have no idea how she managed to get me to hand them over 😮
It's very good to have a friend with whom to share what we like. Your friend is a professional 😊 congratulations to both of you for such a good video.

I like this idea a lot but I may be biased 😅 Or even a Tropheus tank would be cool I think hehe
Great tour. Came to see Cichlids stayed for the plants
Hahaha, I love it 🤣 I did the same lol
Wow just beautiful aquariums. Great video Kathy.
Thank you 😁😁
Nice. I’m still dreaming of a 5ft tank. Someday….
One day!! 🙌 They're so worth it I think! I'm a big fan of big tanks

I got mine from Tech Den in Australia! I'm not too sure how to check the voltage on it 😮
@@Kaityscichlids its usually mentioned on plug.
Its okay if you can't find.
Thanks for trying
The dog 😊😢
Awesome video as always 😉
Thank you 😊🙏
Does Maggie have her own channel or a facebook page or something? Her tanks are really cool and I'd love to ask her a few questions!
She doesn't at the moment unfortunately! 😩 I'm trying to convince her to make a page 😁

Absolutely beautiful tanks!
You didnt spend enough time on the saltwater aquarium ma'am! 😂
😂😂😂 I'll go back and do an update on it when it's grown in a bit 😁
I was so ready for the Lake Tang Cichlid tank build. I have one and love it. This was a fun video though. I'll be waiting.
Not long now 😁

Awesome tanks. Glad to know I'm the only one with buckets of random plants sitting around. Lol
I don't even have planted tanks and I still end up with buckets of plants sitting around somehow 😂
Hey Kaity does Maggie have a fw light on her Saltwater tank? I would love to do that?
Yes! I think it's a freshwater one 🤔
@@Kaityscichlids interesting would love to see how it grows her corals!
@@Kaityscichlids would love to find out her light and light schedule if you would be able to ask her for me?
What was the tank on the counter behind you guys at the end of the video. How come you didn't show that one?
I think those were just some empty tanks sitting on the table
🏆👍....
Aren't you worried about fish jumping out of that tank in your bedroom? The water line is so high and there's no top?
All my fish seem to jump out, but not Maggie's!! She hasn't lost any from jumping. I think the tanks being quite heavily planted is probably helping
Nicee
So beautiful tanks, waiting you to set up your planted tank, I'm sure it's a game change once you started it
Hmmmm, maybe one day 🤣

That's actually not a bad idea!! That would make quite a nice little rainbowfish tank 😁
The big tanks has started to bow out in the middle, I hope it doesn't break soon 🥺😧
Awesome vlog as usual Kaity!!! Maggie's aquascape is also amazing!!! Forcasting a team up!? you two would make a great team!! :)
Thank you so much!! I'd love to do some more videos with Maggie in the future 😁
so beautiful, i wish i could afford a co2 setup but i do low tech tanks mostly, definitely more struggles with algae this way 😢
Yes it makes it so much tougher to balance the lighting and algae it seems!! I love the 5ft tank without CO2 though
