One of the great riffs of all time.
The greatest riff. But most probably never heard it. They're told other guitarists are greats when they are not
@@steviejohansen6417, thank GOD, I have loved it since it was released!
Isn't it about time that this James Dean got the respect he deserves? Give him a knighthood, so he can turn it down!
Quite!
LOL!!! YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha, good one! We have an actor in DK, Jesper Christensen,
did that not too long ago.
@@peterkristensen2600 a vey fine actor! Mr White in 2 Bond films I think. I'm a big fan of Madds Mikkelsen and Claes Bang is super talented also.
Yes. apparently DK actors are good at especially
villian roles. David Dencik is Valdo in the new 007.
Goosebumps just Goosebumps when I listen to this song in 2024! Immortal!!!!!!!!!
This band deserves more recognition! one of the greatest bands out there!
they were pretty famous in theyre day lol
vast active only in the uk though
@@cacen180 It was always pretty unrealistic that a band that sing anti-capitalist anthems would break the US unfortunately. They are big in Japan though
Yes!
James Bradfield is such an underrated guitarist.
Couldn't agree more, unfortunately his most technical guitar skills are only showcased in the earlier stuff before Richie disappeared. You listen to a lot of the stuff since then and the riffs and playing have simplified.
He's a guy I could listen to all day.
Slash and burn baby😎
He’s a better singer but it’s a smoking riff
Not in my house he's not
Ridiculous comment. Underated is to waste time writing up stuff like that. Lack of knowledge really.
@Magister Ludi Really? I wonder if Noel could pull off playing sweet child of mine including the outro solo like Bradfield did the other year
Englishman here. This should be Wales's National Anthem.
Absolute belter!
Think Manic Street Preachers should be on the Pyramid stage, far better than other acts superb James is just amazing, I love this song.
The problem is they haven't released a decent album since 1998. So they have fallen further down the pecking order. Mind you it doesn't really matter who plays what and where at this monstrosity of an event. Its is populated by middle class media studies students and, worse still, their parents so they can "ironically" sing along to Parton, or which ever dinosaur is dragged out. It is painful to watch car crash television. It is like a modern day, wannabe trendier Butlins. Cabaret with something for all the family. The Manics stopped being relevant years ago, and Wire needs to ditch the glam - he now just looks like a 50 year old bank manager who likes to dress up in women's clothes on the weekend. Embarrassing but somehow befitting of this woeful weekend.
***** Your not a fan of Glastonbury then?......You don't have to look like you live on the streets or be a Levellers fan to go to Glastonbury anymore any walk of life can go. The line ups released months before the event so if its crap you don't go.The Manics must be relevant theres enough people on here arguing about them!!
@@CONSIDERABLYMORE1 "they haven't released a decent album since 1998"
I disagree, Send Away The Tigers, Journal For Plague Lovers and Rewind The Film were all great.
@@CONSIDERABLYMORE1 You've obviously forgot about Send away the tigers and JFPL
@@kevinkibble8342 Futorology was great aswell imo, Know Your Enemy isn't bad either
The unfortunate problem is they released Lifeblood at the peak of their success
I love the preachers! Arizona USA here!
This is the best song of the 90s not live forever or champagne supernova nor karma police or bittersweet simphony or the universal... This is the proper hymn for the people, by the people.
Great band. I never tire from listening to them. Fresh and intelligent lyrics and able musicians. Yes, they are underrated, but once a MSP fan, you'll be hooked for life. Love to see them live in Malta.
These guys are still as perfect as they were 30 years ago!
Their music should live forever.
Well it will!😊
The best song ever written
Manics 's the reason why i began my musical career.
Ive met James in Cardiff in a pub.Being a guitarist myself,we talked guitars he gave me advice on new pedals and guitars too buy.He was one of the nicest guys lve ever met.l think he liked me cause l did'nt mention Richey once!!!!!! What a kind thoughtful bloke James is....Richey is still alive l reckon.....living in a bookshop in Amsterdam.....he mentions this cause he wanted to do an lan Curtis....one of his heroes.Curtis would have moved to Amsterdam to escape being famous.
I was born in 03 and only discovered their genius recently, nevertheless a beautiful song and a great band
Same here!
The entire composition is great, instrumentally it's particularly good, and the vocals give it character.
The Manics have gotten me through life ✌🏻
My favourite song from such a brilliant Welsh band! I've been a fan since they first started out, and this is classic Manics. One of the best riffs too.🤘🏴
one if the best songs ever
James is stunning. The song reminds me the summer of 92.
Saw them at Knebworth in 1996 supporting Oasis. One of the greatest tracks ever. Legends 😎
I was there,I shed a tear,they were AMAZING!💗💗💗💗
2018, I feel I will never stop listening to this song.
🤩what a Flashback song. ❤️this song ! Everybody who ❤️this song click 👍
Amazing song with one of the greatest guitar riffs ever! xxx
One of the best bands ever
This song is unique in the way the vocal and the riff duet and is an important piece in the rock evolution
I was there and it was as magic as it looks and sounds on this video.
Watching the 2023 set on the telly at the weekend. Excellent set but wanted to check out previous outings. 2014 seems an age ago...another era. Just love the riff on this track, it's melancholy but up lifting at the same time...
I'm a 14 year old boy from Wales and these sort of songs make me question whether I was born in the right era
Maybe not the right era but definitely the right area
I feel you bro and I’m 23 lol
What a band!
Superhans on bass guitar
Curse these metal hands
Who is this? Is this us?
Amazing by James.. Playing guitar and singing just super.. ✨
one of the truly great bands from the 90s and beyond
This seems like an upbeat version of this song. The guys have been through so much they seem like they're now at the other side now.
The finest thing to ever come out of Blackwood.
One of the best songs EVER written ❤✌️
What a great band very rarely do you like all bands songs on a album but I just love everything thing they do and all their early stuff
Greetings from Slovakia boys ;)
Still class..any other manic fans out there
I love them great band 10/10
Makes me want to get my les Paul & play along, best band ever!
ian welsh same I got the same white les Paul custom she’s beautiful
It’s so obvious one of the best British bands ever. Not one bad album.
They were welsh. Not British.
@@hughmcconville979 you mean are Welsh. Wales is still part of Britain.
LOOOOOOVEEEEEEE THEEEEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A smashing tour de force from JDB
Love, Love, Love Nicky! I sure wish they had more of a following here in the states...I would love to see them live!
Usa life in their own world. Like morons.
Saw them earlier this year in Manchester. They're a quality live act! Great frontman!
A very very good drummer
This is a masterpiece guys!!

@@Ksfigueredo2011 same here!
Massive sound. Brilliant.
TUNE!!!!!!!! Calm down everyone and just enjoy the music!!!
I love this song and this band!
was an instant classic back then
What a genius of a band !
From way back when they were raw boys from the valleys , so much better then as well .
I love their music! Great band
As a scots music fan like big country (mike peters was lead for a while) I think this is the best british song since 1980 til niw
もっと評価されるべきバンド
Outstanding
Wales, people with power and great heart
We keep on, we are the living ones.
You are great, you filled the gap....
My favourite song ❤️
Anthemic... just beautiful.
I read “Withdrawn Traces by Sara Hawys Roberts, Leon Noakes and most importantly Richards sister Rachel Edwards. & somehow it made me feel closer to Richey. Which is crazy cause it’s not even in his words, expect the words they quoted from him. I kinda believe he’s disappearance has a deeper meaning, a message with it. As his disappearance really made a talk about him, even for none fans. He got his name and fame when he isn’t there to entertain anymore.
I hope that wherever Richey are, he’s happy with his decision and live his life as he want to live it, and not under the pressure of society, nor anymore.
~ I wish him all peace and comfort ~ miss you Richey. ..
just Class...
Fantastic as ever
Lovely band, love love them!!!! and this song is super epic!!!!
What a song, legend JDBradfield..
I fooking love this song
Listen every day to work !
There was a time in my life when this was the theme.
Not anymore.
Thank you MSP
Opinions are like noses in that everyone has one! For what my nose is worth, a brilliant band!
Jest flaga! SOLIDARNOŚĆ!

Они самые лучшие потому что они настоящие
their best song!
Son I watched this with you and told you what my wee Brother done to my left Ear drunk
Legendary band.
That unique sound...
Oh my God, I need time machine... '92
Best to Wales from Scotland
What a great band
Jimmy Dean is good very good 👌
Красивая песня ...
this is so awesome
Beautiful
underrated band.
I have no idea why people want to put up a video on you tube and one in which they obviously have to search for, then slag off the band, Glastonbury, the people who go there. I was at Glastonbury this year and the past few years, I didn't watch the Manics, Dolly, Kasabian principally because I didn't want to, but I believe I am grown up and therefore don't feel the need to put into print spiteful and derogatory comments. But then again I am not tiny minded. Good video though of a favourite manic song
Backing The Killers Thursday at Ashton Gate. Should be the other way around
i wish they could have gotten a better crowd mic! that would have made this sound better. You couldn't really hear the crowd that well over the band, which isn't the case in some other live videos I've seen.
Is it strange, that James in original videoclip of that song is wearing the sunglasess in the rainy, cloudy Japan and not wearing them in sunshining Glastonbury?F...k that, whatever, i love this song and that performance!Long Live M.S.P!
timeless!
Masterpiece 👌👌👌👌👌
Awesome guitar part
Great band performance, absolutely........ no discussion
BUT: the VOICE of Richey is not copy-able ....
In the second hearing, it is more than great, sorry for the words.....
Richey looked a lot like my son who died in 2016....
Would be great to hear you somewhere in Germany....
Like the view from the drummer's position!
