I especially liked the part where Chief and Arby got bitch slapped by a Scarab and fucking died only to come back and try again with their flying dumpster.
Man, the books were wild.
That was my favorite part of the book!
For real, seeing the flying dumpster brought back such a wave of nostalgia.
That reminds me of the beginning of Fall of Reach when Johnson rode in on Halo 3 rat and exclaimed “I’m ready, how bout you?!” (his catch phrase at the time, later adopted by his son Emile, [short for “Eight Mile”]) while firing his signature blue striped bolt shot (featured in the multiplayer portion of Halo 4 as a preorder bonus) in the air and kicking the beast in its sides with his iconic (hand carved by his son, Eight) ivory spurs to ensure it kept pace with the rest of the cavalry.
What I would give to read it all again for the first time.

Just the other day I was channeling the energy of the Master Chief while animalistically rummaging through a dumpster full of discarded Little Caesars pizzas. I’d like to think that this parallel is a message from the universe that I’m doing something right. Tomorrow night I might try this trick out for size but, I have my doubts that it will translate well into the physical world. Wish me luck. Thank you for the idea. I’ll be sure to bring back a slice or two for you if all goes according to plan.
