Way early on this one! I ended up going with the r10 and gs pro thanks to your videos. I kept getting outbid on gc2s, so now my entire set up cost less than the gc2 did alone. Couldn't be happier with it. I may be mistaken, but I think the ghost chip was actually the auto chip that you selected on the game mode. The auto putt w/ chip auto chips when you are a certain distance.
Hey Joshua good to hear mate! Yes the R10 is an absolutely incredible device. I think it gets a bad name from people who have never used it or optimised it in their set up. It's soooo much fun and yes the ball flight isn't perfect all the time with driver but hang on you're playing amazing Sim golf in your house! These devices will only get better and better and the cost will come down.
Great video Joe! I have also been having some issues with "Ghost-chipping" while using direct bluetooth and R10. Only happens sometimes and would be interested to understand why. Cheers!
Thanks Alastair! So that one is on me it wasn't actually a ghost chip. It is because I selected auto putt with chipping! So that's what it's supposed to do.
I have however actually had ghost chips or ghost shots and that's when I was having projector interference. Definitely check out my projector interference video. It doesn't have to be a projector either it could be your laptop fans or a fridge / freezer.

That was great to watch. I have friends who have played there but it was some sort of swanky corporate event. They certainly didn't walk in off the street and pay $700 Green Fees😮 I think that auto chip was the setting you had it in. You didn't notice it because you normally hit the GIR 😂 but if you are off it will chip for you. That is a very handy feature if you are playing sim golf at the range and don't want to waste too many range balls on short chips from green side. I use a similar setting with E6 Connect where it assesses you a chip and a putt from close to the green. Doesn't show the actual 'ghost chip' though. Just assesses the score. Don't want that setting on if you are hitting into a home sim setup like yours or into a net though. You want the chipping practice in that situation.
Hey Booji man they are lucky! This course looks incredible. Yes you are absolutely correct 🤣🤣 I did figure it out about a week after lol. But I had already edited the video. This is definitely a bucket list course now! And the good thing is for me it's just a shortish flight over the ditch. Oh and the green fee.... 😢

Wild looking course. Sand sand everywhere. And I agree, I've not seen greens like that.
I don't think I've ever seen a course looking that beautiful and wild. I'd imagine the wind would absolutely blow as well!!
@@JLagGOLF I just played one kind of similar; Wolf Creek, Las Vegas NV. It's also one of the hard to book courses.

Yes! I figured this out after I had edited 🤣. I have never used it before so I was surprised!
@@JLagGOLF It was half of what made it so entertaining. One second you're like "I'm going to try this new auto putt with chipping mode" and the next you are so confused about where this phantom chip came from. 🤣
You had two drives with no club data calculations. Does that happen with the R10 at higher swing speeds sometimes?

Not often the green fees are more than the flight over though. Check out the North and South courses at Tara Iti (almost next door - and you can play both courses for the same cost as Tara Iti). You're welcome!!
I'm still trying to decide between a R10 or MLM2PRO for a backyard golf sim.
Each time I watch your videos, I get more and more unsure of what's the better unit to go with!
Hey mate they are both great units tbh.. you can't really go wrong with either. This is how I see it right now at this point in time... This could all change in 6 months if Rapsodo do some updates...
If you are after something that you can use just for hitting golf balls (full swings) and have like a driving range at your house to work on your game. The Rapsodo will give you the most accurate ball flight. But you pay for it with the RPT balls and also the annual subscription.
If you're after a device that you can play Sim golf on then the Garmin R10 is the go. It will give you accurate carry numbers in GS Pro and especially Awesome Golf so you can do a bag map for our door use. It connects up to GS Pro so you can have arguably the best software in the world. The only negative is that it struggles with spin axis which is shot shape with the woods and driver. I have made a video on this. It's pretty good with the irons but because of the gear effect it really throws the spin axis off with the woods and driver. In saying that there are no subscription costs to worry about.
Again this could all change if the Rapsodo sorts out it's chipping and then allows the GS Pro connection.. but they seem to be doing everything to stop the GS Pro connect which is odd.. if they officially partnered with GS Pro it would be a massive hit to the Garmin.

Hey David if you just go into the top right menu and then click on data tiles you can just select 6 more and they show up.

Absolutely Ken it's a great little unit! This new connection direct Bluetooth to computer is just so good. We are lucky to have people like Matt in the community!
Very tuff course by the looks, definitely scaring me lol. How do you get the landing zone around the greens before the shot coming in?
That's the J key on your keyboard. To move it you then use the arrow keys on your keyboard and then J to get out of it. Really useful for aiming before your shot in to greens. If you want another alternative view of the green hit the f3 key.

I tried AutoPutt Fixed with Chip and it seems to automatically chip for you every time. At least that's what it did for me.
Spot on Jeff! You're right is was the auto putt with chip! It took me by surprise 🤣 I was having PTSD from projector interference

Apparently you can play there as a member of the public. You need to stay on the grounds, which is very expensive. You are then banned from the property permanently and forever after your one visit (unless you join as a member).
What!? Is this true? I need to do more research into this. So there is a chance I could play it then.. ok this might be my first outdoor course video 🤣

@Joe Lagowski Golf thank you for the video about short chipping, whenever I have a short chip now I just do a fast back swing then I can go slow from there. Helped get rid of some frustration!
@@blakerichardson2132 Glad it helped! Yeah it would be frustrating to have to change your chipping action. For me I have quite a quick natural tempo so it works for me without changing anything. Id love to see a little adjustment you could make to change the sensitivity of the radar on the fly.. so for chipping just dial up the sensitivity a bit so it really picks up on those slow short shots.
@@blakerichardson2132 yeah @Joe Lagowski Golf chipping tip helped me too. I must admit I had never previously had a problem with it outdoors but I have just set up a net indoors and the chipping wasn't working so it was frustrating. Just speeding up the backswing per Joe's advice resolved that.
