I've never seen an angry beer ad, and i still laugh at dude coming out if a public bathroom, at a park, with a beer. I don't know about you, but I think kid's are safer around a trans twenty year old, rather than a man getting drunk in the park's bathroom and beating up beer cans with a baseball bat.
As a trans person who is currently carrying for my niece and nephews, yeah they're way more safe with me.

Please don't give the right-wing boycott all the "credit" for the drop off in Budweiser sales. Budweiser's attempts to apologize for not being bigoted enough pissed off LOTS of us non-bigots which I think accounts for a good chunk of their sales decline (even if we do tend to drink less mediocre beer to start with).

What y’all missed about Sound of Freedom thing is that they bought out a ton of theaters and also had moviegoers buy a bunch of extra tickets to artificially inflate their box office numbers. However, they also got angry when the theaters were mostly empty, claiming it was being shadowbanned

I'd argue the reason Bud Light has not recovered from the right wing backlash is, unlike a lot of the other brands that get hit by a backlash, Bud Light primarily sold well along a right wing audience, and no one on the left is gonna rally around Bud Light cuz...well it's trash.
I know. I'd like to support Bud Light, but it's a terrible beer.
The problem is their craven walk back after the controversy. They've sponsored pride festivals for decades and have been on tap at every gay bar I've ever been to (with their own rainbow tap handle). They could have leaned in and made up for the loss but instead they waffled and pissed off everyone.

I forget why some people were angry with France and made fools of themselves over it, but I do remember feeling a little embarrassed for our country at the time.
Because in early 2003, France declined to support the George W. Bush plan to attack Iraq. And people thought saying "french fries"... supported France? It was definitely very stupid. France's critique of the US plan at the time, on the other hand, has aged pretty well. BTC had a bunch of good grievances but Tommy had almost all the good grifts which are based on grievances, so I feel like he answered the assignment more completely
I’d have to give it to BTC on account of the fact that I have had family members engage in and bring up organically in conversation both the Bud Light boycott and the Sound of Freedom movie thing. The first thing my cousin said to me when I showed up at his house once was “No [Bud Light] here” (yes, he was drinking a Mexican beer at the time). Also my aunt invited my sister to a Sound of Freedom viewing because her church had rented out three theaters to support it.
As someone who has a maybe pathological aversion to even seeing ketchup, I really seriously appreciate you not forcing Brian to eat ketchup.

The number of folks at my church who believe that seeing Sound Of Freedom is a way of pleasing God is incredibly sad. People are bringing their kids to this movie because they think they need to see it and understand what’s going on. It really just makes me sick because many of the other folks from the same studio are actually good Christian movies. BTC wins because of that.
What I love is that they were going on and on about it making $20 million on opening weekend. That it is proof that anti woke sells. And then Barbie which the same people are railing against as woke comes out and makes $160 million it's opening weekend not even factoring in how many toys they have sold because of it.

Two people in my family passed out creepy inket-printed pamphlets promoting it because "something something god's children" with a cherry-picked bible quote at the end. They got them from their church, and went to go see it as soon as it came out. It "shook" them. 🤦♂️

just got back from an Ontario trip with my Maga FIL...he was in awe of the windmills, farming, diversity, infrastructure, and economic growth...then said " Why this not happening where we live" I literally had to pump the brakes and explain "it's because you vote against clean energy, diversity, education, Healthcare, and infrastructure
The thing about Bud Lite isn't just that some conservative boycott worked (though I'm sure that's part of it if you also compare it to Target's stock) But also a lot of liberal and LGBT people also decided they didn't want anything to do with Bud because of how they responded to all this, basically leaving Dylan out to dry and exposing how shallow their rainbow capitalism really is.
And to a lesser degree this is true of Target where a lot of us see how quickly they caved and took down their Pride merch. Even here in San Francisco, the Target near me put their Pride stuff in a dark dirty back corner of the store after shit started going down.

Hey, "THE SOUND OF FREEDON" IS AN F-14 TOMCAT SAYING FROM THE 1970's. Many of the pilot's had "SH8T HOT" ON THE FRONT OF THEIR HELMETS. I worked at Khatami Airbase for Hughes Aircraft as a secretary. When those jets took off you really heard and felt the sound of freedom. I was in Iran for about a year before Khomeini came back from France all set with his religious Imans to retake Iran from the Shah. The Shah was attempting to bring his country into the new world. Students were dressed like anywhere else in the free world, no scarfs or burkas, they called them chadors, except for the older generation. When we were flying into Isfahan to go to Khatami air base housing, there were miles and miles of black Sikorski helicopters like praying mantis in the desert. I could write a book on that time. It was 1978 all foreigners were evacuated. The next month American's who were still in the US embassy in Tehran were taken hostage in 1979. The Shah died of cancer soon after, I think in Mexico. It would've been a whole different history if these events did not take place, makes you wonder. Iran would have most likely continued as our Ally.

I left the room during "The Right Stuff" dating up ad and could only hear the audio. I was like, "Why is one woman repeatedly answering the 'Red Flag' question?" I scrubbed back to watch it and realized that all of the women replying "Democrat" sound exactly the same.
