    Wait I’m a bit confused. The Amazon listing claims water softener not DI water? I have the The On The Go set up with the Dual DI tank filters that is really different to this set up as it is 100% DI water. So is this DI water ? Or soften water? What is the PPM reading after filtering water through this filters?

    That's interesting that u can clean the filter. But I still just think it's a really expensive way to dry a car, and it only makes sense on really high end jobs.

    Thanks for the free game yall @Details I just have a question so can you connect it that straight to your pressure washer or just connect hose to the tank for final rinse?

    • @detailsauto

      I sure you could with the proper connections and valves, we attach to out main water line at home with a pre filter (rv 1 micron) and then to the softener and hose into our tank

    I have to disagree with this video. This isn’t deionized water this is only softened water which doesn’t actually give you 100% mineral free water. Yes it may help but isn’t truly DI water. The company itself even claims it’s not. No hate just thing people should be accurately informed.

    • @detailsauto
      @detailsauto  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Technically yes. DI and soft water are different, but what we are all looking for is a spot free finish. And this does just that. Thanks for the info and the support.

    • @juliovale2588
      @juliovale2588 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree this is only a water softener there is no way your getting a spot free car wash only by using this system, I use a reverse osmosis system that goes thru a water softer plus 3 filters and 3 membranes to get my spot free wash that system you guys have it’s only to hook up to your rvs to run your sinks and shower and washing machine that’s it

      Idk about no 2000 gallons either. Spotless water systems sells 2 larger resin tanks and they only filter about 300 gallons of water. 2000 seems like alot of water to filter for that one small tank.

    • @obsessedmobiledetailing
      @obsessedmobiledetailing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eflores1530 yeah I highly doubt they are getting 2000 gallons. I have the cr spotless DI system and they claim I would get 1,200 gallons but I have a meter and I only got 750 gallons even with my hood water quality of 60ppm.

    Sense this isn’t actually DI water and it’s just Soft Water. What PPM are you looking for in order to get spot free water?

    • @detailsauto
      @detailsauto  ปีที่แล้ว

      0 it tests at 0, so the technicality is exactly that,, a technicality. Soft, DI whatever you want to call it. It's spot free if used properly.

    • @The_Cyberz
      @The_Cyberz ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s impossible to get zero PPM unless the water you’re feeding the softener is already zero PPM. Softeners do NOT reduce total dissolved solids. Science.

  • @The_Cyberz
    @The_Cyberz ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Softened water does not prevent water spots. Don’t claim this is DI, it’s not.
    Softened water just exchanges harder minerals with sodium, the PPM doesn’t change. Softened water spots are just easier to remove and usually wipe off during drying, if you’re fast enough.
    I really like your content but this video is bunk.

    Y'all talked for 6 minutes about this, and that, and then some of that, and then some of this some more. Then, you talked about using some salt to back flush a water softener and reactivate the resin in a water softener. When it came down to the point to actually show people what they actually need to do, you just skimmed over it and said salt cost 1 dollar per lb, and here's a brine hose, and a doohickey.
    Y'all some straight up clowns! You should have a reality show about nothing, and talk all day, about nothing.

    I am a water purification specialist and all of this is false. DI water does not require multiple tanks. It requires a single tank full of mixed bed DI resin. Cation resin and Anion resin. What you’re referring to in your video is soft water which is not spot free because it’s still full of TDS. Soft water is not DI, which means soft water is not spot free. Soft water is water that has had its hardness replaced with sodium chloride. So, congratulations, you’re actually leaving your clients cars in worse shape than when you got them because of the salt content. Oh, and Luke Wilson is not a water treatment expert, always consider the source of your information.

      Thank you for watching, you are correct it's not DI that's why we amended the description and title, but it leaves no spots, so technically what would you call water that leaves no spots? Maybe spotless water?
