The regimental flags undoubtedly would have played a prominent role in the measured retreat of Humphrey's Division!
Humphreys Hessler and AG! Huzzah!
Sickles holding his leg says it all.
MORE JIM HESSLER PLEASE!!!! SOOO GOOD!
Oh we definitely have more of Jim. We have a bunch of episodes already, if you’re new to the show. Not sure how many but quite a few
Humphreys would have communicated through Bugle calls.
I'm driving down the road screaming at my radio: BUGLE CALLS!!!!
Really great episode gentlemen. You could barely tell you're mortal podcast enemies.
It’s a sign of our professionalism
Live to the white house !😂
For the F word search the Oxford Etymologist, Anatoly Liberman. He writes a lot about those kinds of words. Also, it is very hard to find any curse words in writing in the 19th century. Famously, Abraham Lincoln liked to tell dirty stories. Try to find many. There are precious few that have been written down.
It’s funny how the F word is so common yet so mysterious
It’s a lot older than you might think having cognates in other Germanic and Indo-European languages. By the way, I’m a big fan of this podcast.
Jim really has the ability to control a show
lol or maybe the host just likes listening to him
