Here is our version of "Diggy Diggy Hole!" We hope you enjoy it:)
We arranged the piece. My family sang it.
Please no bad language in the comments. We want this to be family friendly:) Thank you!
Lyrics:
DIGGY DIGGY HOLE
Brothers of the mine rejoice!
(Swing, swing, swing with me!)
Raise your pick and raise your voice!
(Sing, sing, sing with me!)
Down and down into the deep
Who knows what we'll find beneath?
Diamonds, rubies, gold, and more
Hidden in the mountains store
[Pre-Chorus]
Born underground
Molded from the very stone
Raised in the dark
The safety of our mountain home
Skin made of iron
Steel in our bones
To dig and dig makes us free
Come on, brothers, sing with me!
[Chorus]
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
The sunlight will not reach this low
(Deep, deep in the mine)
Never seen the blue moonglow
(Dwarves don’t fly so high)
Fill a glass and down some mead
Brotherhood in song and feast
Work is done now asleep
Dreaming in our mountain keep
[Pre-Chorus]
Forged underground
Hammer in the iron room
The Earth is our home
The mountain shall become our tomb
Face us on the battlefield
You will meet your doom
We do not fear what lies beneath
We can never dig too deep
[Chorus]
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
[Chorus]
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole
I am a dwarf, and I'm digging a hole
Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole
I’m the Elf and I’m filling in the hole,
Filling in the hole, filling in the hole

Finally, the holiest of Dwarf hymns
The only hymn sacred to both the Dwarfs and the Chaos Dwarfs, with neither able to begrudge the other for singing it.
Technically, I think that would be "Heigh Ho!" But this is a close second.
@@octaviusmorlock There's a pattern to dwarfish songs. "Heigh Ho" is about going to work in a mine, "Diggy Diggy Hole" is about working in a mine "Gold, Gold, Gold, Gold" is about all the great stuff you've ined, and "Misty Mountains Cold" is about that bastard who nicked your mine and loot.

This song has literally become a rite of passage for any band that has ANYTHING related to do with dwarves, and you've passed it with flying colors.
I think they passed it in "Misty Mountains"
@@yochaiwyss3843 The did it with Song of Durin.
I love how much mileage this simple song that was made on a whim has gotten. The Yogscast will forever be remembered through this.
Assuming people don't think it's a Wind Rose song.
@@Crazael there will always be people to remind others of the song's origins.
@@Crazael Napalm Records has Yogscast pinned to the top of that video. They won't forget.
Seriously, it's crazy that it all started so innocuous
It didn't even start as a Yogscast thing - they yoinked it from some nobody's animation for a goofy techno song and they made this original years later.
I love the ending with the elf trying to fill the hole back in
He is immortal so he can use the tiny shovel and still succeed...eventually 😂
"Pointy-eared leaf lover!"
Fellow Dawi... A great wrong has befallen our kin... by aelf things...
i laughed way to much at the ending too ended up crying tears just laughing xD🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
With his little beach bucket and trowel!
I like the characterisation of the elf using a toy bucket. It makes the elf seem childish, and I think that's funny and accurate
I showed this to my mom and she said "it sounds like a song a dwarf would sing to their kid, like a dwarf nursery rhyme." She likes it
It sounds like a Dwarven take on a Scottish waulking song, essentially something a group of them would sing while working.
They needed a song to sing... Something light hearted and silly.
If this is the lullaby dwarves sing to their kids, then the last part with the elf is the song the dwarvish version of the boogeyman sings from under the bed once the parents shut the bedroom door 😂
You realize you need to do the entire "I am an elf and I'm filling in the hole" song someday, right?

The city dwarves have been seduced by the industry of Saruman 😭

HAHA I had an epic voice in my head that answered "The dwarves digged too deep."
This ain't a fool, this is just as much a masterpiece as the original
More of a masterpiece.
Each time this song gets sung by someone new, something wonderful is added. Brilliant work.
Anything clamavi de profundis does is amazing and I don't know how this version could be topped.
That was phenomenal! The elf bit at the end was truly inspired.
Can we just all appreciate how this isn't a complete copy, but incorporates poetically perfect gags and original additions??? :D
On the other hand, I was kinda hoping Clamavi would make this even more serious and epic...
@@cubelith7899 Wind Rose already got that down. They had to with their own style.
@@Attackbow1566 No they don't, Wind Rose is metal. And Clamavi's own style definitely isn't this goofy. Not that I mind this, it's obviously fun, but deep down I was hoping for a "proper" version
@@cubelith7899 I enjoyed it. It's homely. Wind Rose made the song epic and bombastic, this version feels friendly and brotherly. I'd ask not for more.

You guys have made some truly awe inspiring songs over the years, bringing new life to the masterworks of Tolkien and hymns praising our Lord. However this April Fools song is your greatest accomplishment yet.
You didn't have to go this hard but you did and it's glorious.
Eh this is not an april fools song. It's an actual real song that already existed and they are just releasing a cover that you can actually buy. So nothing fool about it. ;p
@@Tconl Yeah but it's a meme song from the Yogscast. Not the kind of thing Clamavi usually sing
@@ethan1142028 And since the original was in their usual epic style and a heavy metal version had already been done, they decided to go for a completely different tone. It would have been relatively easy for them to just redo the original, but they wanted something original.
Plus, I do enjoy the nod and respect they give to heavy industry at the end. We are so often villainized in fiction that heavy mining equipment coming in as the cavalry brought tears to my eyes.
@@Tconl I mean it's a "meme" song that was released on April Fools.

My 5 year old son loves this son! He sings along everytime he hears it. Thank you for the amazing music you create and record. He has been loving everything we listen together :)
It’s a good intro to the song. Though I don’t know if the dwarves would strip mine a perfectly good mountain home. The elf at the end was perfection!
They ran out of things to dig inside their home so they moved outside and began anew.
I'm fine with the strip mine being as it's an April Fools thing -and tbh dwarves might do that outside their homes,- I'm curious why some of the lyrics were changed though, especially in stanza 5 where the one it was replaced with just isn't related to the rest of the lines.
@@TristenSarelvun eh, it's probably both to make it "family friendly" ("suckled from a teat of stone" does bring to mind non-family-friendly imagery, whereas "molded from the very stone" is more suitable... and also, Aule literally did forge the first seven dwarves out of a stone) and to add their own lyrical interpretations to the song, making it more their own version of the song than just a word-for-word cover.

AHHHH YES a modern classic. Amazing rendition as always and a good laugth.
Love the cover of such a well known cultural phenomenon.
Truly made so much better by the sheer effort and care that clearly went into an April fools video.
Not to mention how much the team clearly had fun doing it. With the city dwarves coming to the rescue with construction equipment, to the elf filling in the hole (as we see the ancient rivalry yet again). Not to mention the dwarven runes as lyrics.
Appreciate how much time and effort went into something so light-hearted.
Thanks for all the work you guys do!
