@@atomichorizen3987 Alas, merely an elf with an appreciation for the children of Aulë. Some of us do know the beauty of stone and metal, or fire and steel.
I was teaching on an army officer's course a couple years back. They were in their defensive portion so they were digging their defensive trenches. So being the compassionate instructor that I am, decided to lift their spirits by walking behind their trenches with this song playing on my phone as they dug. It was perfection.
I got to watch them live when they did the Northern Warfront Tour in Edmonton. It was my first show ever and hearing Diggy Diggy Hole live, with the entire crowd singing along, was a life changing experience for me. This song is so good live.
We've finally gone full circle with this song, I'm genuinely impressed how far this song has gone from one off joke to full on professional production.
It is indeed really cool how far this has come, and I love it. I don't think we've gone full circle though, since we didn't go back to the original joke.
That's how I found this version! I couldn't believe my ears, a tiny little joke in a phenomenal Minecraft series made it to the death metal station on the radio!
@@Luredreier there isn't much of a place to go. The basic idea of where this song originated was on an old minecraft channel called YOGCAST. I believe they are still uploading today but I haven't watched minecraft in years. In one of their videos they made a joke about digging like a dwarf or something allong those lines. They then produced a minecraft song called "Diggy Diggy Hole". Years after that release Wind Rose did a remake of the song using the same words and overall feeling of the song but made it metal. YOGCAST is just a group of content creators that made minecraft videos and were/are pretty popular.
I love how the lead singer actually LOOKS like a dwarf, they all have the hair and beards, but that guy actually has the kind of wide chest and shoulders that you'd expect from a small mountain of muscle and grit.
I love how this music video gets the blacksmithing 100 times more right than almost any movie I've ever seen. The fact that they're singing about digging a hole and they forge a shovel from a lump of steel, using a water hammer is just sheer perfection.
The blacksmithing is done right. The mining? Not so much. *Let's poke a few of these rocks with axes(?) until fully polished gems tumble out and we pick them like berries!*
I just find it incredibly cool that actual professional musicians not only listen to geek fantasy songs but play an even more epic version with costumes and props and shit

I was teaching on an army officer's course a couple years back. They were in their defensive portion so they were digging their defensive trenches. Gaming history is serious business and don't let anyone say otherwise.
Do you know of any place where I may learn about that?
The real life history of gaming culture rivals even the greatest of actual game lore
@@goldenegg7447 Now this…this is the guy.

I love how this music video gets the blacksmithing 100 times more right than almost any movie I've ever seen. The fact that they're singing about digging a hole and they forge a shovel from a lump of steel, using a water hammer is just sheer perfection.
