I just realized MoonQuest's connection to Diggy Diggy Hole. While Diggy Diggy Hole depicts the dwarven culture being single minded about mining, MoonQuest depicts a dwarf that was ridiculed for thinking differently and forced to abandon his own home in order to seek his dreams.
There is also a connection in the lyrics. In Diggy Diggy Hole, they say "Never seen the blue moon glow, dwarves won't fly so high"
Here, they say "they told him dwarves can never fly so high" and he also saw "and saw a moon so blue"
I feel like it was meant to be obvious but the me from 5 years ago wouldn't have caught on to that.

Imagine, I remember the night I discovered modded minecraft, I watched the first episode of Tekkit Jaffa factory and I don’t think I’ve ever been as amazed in my entire life, I literally stayed up all night watching it and pretended to be sick the day after so I could skip school and binge the tekkit series, my Nan bringing me cups of tea up and food in bed all day, the memories

I literally cried listening to this song yesterday. It reminded me of when I was younger. This song is beautiful.
It's odd, isn't it? The yogscast are still around, and I'm still watching them a lot. But there's still a massive amount of nostalgia for this song and everything tied to it. Everything has changed so much since then, but we still have everything here on youtube, like a timecapsule.

This will mean nothing to anyone, other than maybe my daughters who may find this message buried long after I’m gone.
I watched this series play out live. It was my elixir of life.
Many years later, I’ve just rewatched the entire series with my 6 & 8 year old daughters, each night snuggled up. Sometimes they fall asleep before the end, other nights they ask daddy for one more episode.
No one will ever know what this series means to me. Other than me and my two girls, Scarlett and Sienna.

That is so sweet. I think I first found the series a year or 2 after it ended but I wish I could have watched it live. Especially the livestream of them on the moon landing.
I never watched past the first episode but I don't think I need to to understand the general vibe. I hope you and your girls have a happy life together and I hope you continue to relive the glory days of Minecraft as a family.

I'm still shocked how the single most inspiring song I've ever heard was made by a group of comedians, gamers, and TH-camrs rolled into one. Kind of an odd idea, but this is a mainstay of my life whenever things go wrong.
It's also interesting coming back to this song after actually watching the series and getting all the references in the animation.

Agreed! I almost cried a little because of that when I was listening to the song. it really makes sense basically this happened to me once.. except I wasn't a dwarf and I wasn't going to the moon. I told my mom and dad that I was gonna be a famous youtube star when I grow up and that im gonna work at Nintendo and they told me that I would never be able to do it. :( but I still havnt given up on my dreams and this song gave me extra motivation so thank you a lot Yogscast! 9 years im 22 now... i remember waiting for the newest moon quest episode.... this song still is a fantastic song it definitely showcases alittle of how lewis, simon (honeydew) and duncan act in game lol still watch the yogscast to this day its nostalgic and makes me remember of better more simple days

Oh the feels, makes a grown man tear up and remember the good ol days thanks Yogscast
I randomly got recommended this after watching some of 2023 Jingle Jam highlights and man this hit me like a truck, now more then ever.
Im 23 now and very lost in life and this song brought me back to when I was 12 watching moon quest during a time where my dreams were larger than life and I thought nothing and knew nothing of the stress and anxiety that comes with adulthood.
The message this song sends out to always aim for your dreams no matter who tries to put you down really struck a chord with me and I got extremely emotional listening to this on the train.
I had dreams, I had goals in life but they all got sidelined as I struggled to achieve or accomplish anything due to personal shortcomings and the fear of repeating past failures constantly holds me back from seriously trying again.
The person or thing that’s telling me that I can’t fly that high is myself and maybe I can finally start working towards changing that.
Thanks yogacast for the decades of entertainment and inspiration and maybe one day I’ll look back at the day I made this comment and laugh at how seriously I took this song lol.

It was my brother who introduced me to Yogscast. And it was because of Yogscast that he started playing Minecraft. I remember him playing like a crack version and he would play it on our mom's crappy laptop. I would sit beside him and just watch him play. And he would always talk to me about Yogscast and I remember that he would talk about the story of the Shadow of Israphel. Because of that, I started to watch Yogscast and watch more gaming videos on youtube.
I was still in elementary and my brother was still in high school when this video first came out. We would watch Moonquest together during or after dinner. And I rememeber this one moment where I think it was Simon who accidently turned on the rocket and completely destroyed everything and we were just laughing so hard watching it.
Now, I'm in college and my brother is a working adult. And watching this has brought me so much nostlagia. Life has changed a lot since then.

I love how the animator took key parts from the series and animated them, such as the reference at the beginning in which Lewis has 0% oxygen level.

God. I was in such a dark place when this series and song first were a thing. This shit was just one of the handful of things that kind of kept me sane while i worked on myself, and pulled myself out. I dont think ive listened to this since then. And im straight up bawling right now.

I swear, the yogscast has the richest history among all the channels on youtube. Its a bunch of amazing people all coming together to give us new content, and every time I listen to this song, the nostalgia of everything is so overwhelming. Being a watcher for a long time I have seen how the Yogscast has grown and, I swear the entire team deserves some sort of award. I just cannot express how the yogscast has made everyone feel so deeply about what they do. This sends chills up my spine every time I listen to it, and is very motivational and emotional. This is my personal favorite song out of the ones they have made, and it really is the yogscast in one song. Its amazing how such an inspiring and amazing song could be made by a rag-tag team of comedians and gamers. This little paragraph I am writing is not enough to explain the impact they have made on my life and others. Its just amazing. Looks like I had to write this because I just couldn't *puts on sunglasses* BEAR it.
