    Keep it going. Welcome back to Nigeria. Banana lsland the most secured place in Nigeria second only to the Aso Rock, Abuja (the presidential villa). Davido lives there as his grandpa was one of the majority landowners. We love you.

    No, Banana Island was not reclaimed from the ocean, it was reclaimed from the lagoon. It is not on the ocean front. It's really an extension of Ikoyi. Growing up in Lagos in the 1970s, the rear of Ikoyi where Banana Island is today was known as Ikoyi Park, a marshy area that was something of a nature preserve. This area was sand filled and extended into the lagoon. This portion of the Lagos Lagoon where Banana Island is located is known as Five Cowries Creek.

    • @interestingthingstoknow8975
      @interestingthingstoknow8975 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You are very right...my family lived in this area back then and I was born in the Ikoyi area....the area was really marshy but so serene in the 70's.

    • @wwswewillsee9335
      @wwswewillsee9335 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Reclaimed from the lagoon or sea, is it not technology that was used for the task? Are you aware that the word Lagos in Portuguese means lagoon. Go and study world geography and history once again. Are you aware that there is also a place in Portugal called Lagos and it has closeness to the Atlantic Ocean? The location of Lagos on the map of Nigeria looks similar to Lagos on the map of Portugal.

    • @Bio54633
      @Bio54633 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@wwswewillsee9335 So what is the relevance of your comment? Did anyone make any reference to technology? Also, I'm not sure that any of the authors of the previous comments on this thread require a history or geography lesson about Lagos from you. It's a city each of us is very familiar with. 🤔

    THEY ARE OVER BLESS WITH SKILL, VERY WEALTHY AND INTELLIGENCE.
    NIGERIANS ARE THE MOST ENVIED PEOPLE ON EARTH, ANYTHING THEY DO PROGRESS.
    I LOVE NIGERIANS.
    THEY ARE SMART , WHAT EVER THE PUT THERE MIND TO DO, THEY WILL BRING THE BEST OF THE BEST OUT OF IT.
    MOST AFRICA COUNTRIES CANT STAND WITH FOREIGN INVESTORS, BUT IN NIGERIA, THEY OWN 99% ASSET IN THERE COUNTRY.
    THEY EVEN HAVE MORE INDUSTRIES IN MANY AFRICANS COUNTRIES.

      A little advice for you, people love Ghana for many reasons, beyond the buildings, roads etc Ghana is loved for many important things so you nigerians should figure it out and work on yourselves. You can have all the best buildings, best cities in your country but if you lack
      electricity,
      peace,

      well mannered citizens the foreigners will come but they will go elsewhere🇬🇭 so fix your dirty attitude and all other things will fall in place cos hating on Ghana will not change the fact that your International Airports are full of beggers, hating on Ghana will not change the fact that your country is largely unsafe and hating on Ghana will not change the fact that your people are commiting crimes in other countries.
