I forgot to comment properly.But I admit,not only I have edged to this multiple times,I have watched it around twice the times I have edged,all while advancing to the rear.Looking at the Shogun helped with the edging too.Seriously you guys at Uni are absolute madlads.The whole trailer perfectly captures the spirit of Warhammer 40k that was lost in the ages to the Space Marines plague.I am old enough to know the hype when Kislev as Vostroya was still relevant.I am glad there are more people who remember Tekarn when the setting used to be bigger.I hope CA watches and revives Nippon in TWW3 like how they did with Cathay.I love the work the entire team has done and I can only hope you guys never stop!Soulstorm is alive thanks to Uni and can't wait for the future,when AdMech and Elysians join.Not as excited for the Ultramarines as I find them pretty bleh given GW forces them on all but I am still confident you guys will do an amazing job nonetheless! @@patrik9328 They were a loyalist regiment in 2nd edition/Roguetrader. Their space is between the Imperium and Tau, but now they're Renegades using advanced xenos technology and the forces of Chaos.
@@MNM-lq9te The loyalists were Raven Guard. Game wise though they're regular SM, no new Loyalist chapters in this update (Though the Blood Angels have been reworked,).

@@MNM-lq9te It is the scheme the base game had. And with the filter, it got a blueish hue. But all in all, we used the regular Space Marines but with the Raven Guard scheme because they are the antithesis to the Night Lords. Purely for lore reasons.
Now all we need are Starblaze Fleets and we'll be set. (A Tau commander that acts more like a rogue trader, who believes the greater good is through integration over assimilation - his regiments consist mostly of former guardsmen kitted out with tau weapons. Because putting a railgun on a leman russ tank is FUN)

Ive been using titanium wars for forever now but im definitely switching over for sure, one thing id like to ask though is there a way to disable the handicap to resource rate when playing anything that isnt a 1v1 please?
There is an old image from the 2nd Edition Imperial Guard Codex I think that best summarizes how far GW has fallen. It contained no less than thirty Guard Regiment types, including Krieg, Praetoria and Tekarn. All of these interesting, hand inked images of soldiers with snippets of lore and history... never pursued because GW would rather make more Space Marine Lieutenant models. The Guard are the most fascinating faction in the setting, and they will never reach their fullest potential. At least with us, they will.
Today is THE day! ;-) How to install: * The simplest way would be by using DoW Mod Manager (through Modlist). It will automatically download archive and an installer. You may need some additional small mods - they will be shown in red ;-)

@Tracer_Krieg must have been alot of work. Tried out the campaign mod i hope you know you basically opened pandora's box with that outside the stronghold crashes here and there its pretty good and opens up things. Btw shogun is a ex sister or inqustister?
The Renegade Guard are in two subfactions: the Vraksian Revolutionary Army and the Tekarn Shogunate. The Death Korps specifically are the 14th Teuton Infantry Regiment. The Steel Legion are the 49th Dolumar IV (this a reference to the game Fire Warrior, which featured Steel Legion as enemy NPC's) The Vostroyans are the Vostroyan 5th. The Praetorian Guard are specifically the Malai Colonials.
Technically an Overlord as the Mammoth Tank in 40k is the Falchion Tank. They were made for the trailer but are playable. You will see how when the release hits. 👀
Vraks functions as a kind of Anti-Krieg, with a heavy focus on heavy armor, close range assault tanks and blobs of close combat based infantry, which you see on display in the trailer. Tekarn on the other hand borrows heavy from the Empire of the Rising Sun seen in RA3, with high mobility, tech superiority and firepower their main focus. They also employ a large number of heroes, so you can mix and match to your preferred tactical style.
Let me explain in a few words: * This is a mod for an old RTS - Warhammer 40 000 Dawn of War: Soulstorm * It is one of 3 BIGGEST mods for that game - any of those add more features that was in the game (will all the expansions - it is crazy!).
How the Cardinal regain his human form after becoming a Chaos Spawn? Maybe is just a illusion with the use of sorcery and witchcraft. Or else it was all imperial propaganda hehe.
@@Tracer_Krieg a bit to harsh on Steve Blum there. After all, we got Chaos Lucas Alexander. To give an explanation. It is as you have said Sebastian(and what Xaphan mentions in his speech). His death was greatly exaggerated and the Chaos Powers resurrected him. Spoiler: It is implied their benefactors at the end played a big role, not just in re-arming them. In addition, in-game, if Xaphan dies(again), he turns into a Warp Spawn!
@@apothecarykekoulis Not meant as a stab at Mr. Blum, I mean it literally. The Warp changes you due to the whims of the Warp, hence why Chaos Alexander and Loyalist Alexander sound a bit different to each other (but have the same tone and mannerisms).
I'm a real big fan of Warhammer and the moth but I'm very confused about what that last part with the shogunate is. Is that part of the mod or is that deep and lower or is that just more of the waifu stuff that keeps slowly dripping into the mod? I'm not complaining but I really like to know
There is Tekkarn Sector in The Imperium that Had japanese (pre meiji) themed Imperial Guard Regiments. Here apparently they are made their own thing with Chaos Undivided alligned Shogunate. Considering that Shoguness apparently said "once abbandoned us" might mean also a dab on Games Workshop for leaving out some Imperial factions or other factions untouched (because primaris). There are more Regiments of the Guard itself let alone traitors and xenos alligned Humans(massive traitors mostly T'au alligned) and yet gw only focuses on ultrasmurfs or leave these factions and races "untouched". Personally I find it good that Mod Team is in constant search for older parts of the lore. Imperial Guard itself have so many regiment types that they could make enough factions for combat.
It is an old piece of lore.They are the 40k version of Fantasy Nippon.Back in the older days,GW would port their Fantasy factions to 40k.Vostroya is Kislev as you can guess.Eventually GW abandoned Nippon and Cathay(Cathay returned in TWW3 very recently) and as a result,so they did with Tekarn(and Vostroya since no one talks about them today). In Fantasy,they are Tzeentch aligned and in 40k were meant to be Chaos against the Tau but GW dropped them before finishing while not retconning them out.Actually they still do that with the Ynnari and the Votann. Just to focus on Marines... Now for the waifus,if they can do it and do it well,as they do, then should do.We should not pretend normal 40k by GW is any different.Given Rogue Trader and Darktide are a thing now.
They are based on existing Lore, however because Games Workshop is Games Workshop and abandoned the idea of Space Japan after 2nd edition, the team took inspirations from other places, like Red Alert 3, Shogun 2 and Fantasy Nippon.
I was kinda expecting the Tekarn Shogunate to be a Tau-aligned human faction, given that Tau is basically the alien melting pot of China, Japan and India. But, praise Slaanesh I guess for the Tekarn representative who might as well name her group after a Slaanesh-blessed word that has six letters and starts with an H. Tekarn Banzai! Praise the Greater Good! Or is it Slaanesh?
Actually not Slaanesh. While there are elements within Tekarn that are dedicatd to Her (one of the heroes you can spawn in in particular), their main deity is Tzeentch. This goes back to WF Nippon faction, who became Tzeentchian before GW decided to leave them behind. The god is quite fitting, considering Lord Raiden (the Japanese mythology one, not MK) takes the form of a Thunderbird. So to answer your question, Praise Raiden-Sama! Praise Tzeentch!
@@Tracer_Krieg What Tracer said. GW played a bit in Nippon with Tzeentch being the Lord of (Warp) Storms, aka what Raiden means as a definition. So is only natural they followed him. :V But as we wanted to have a more Undivided flavour, there are heroes and units available from other Chaos Marks as well.

I see you never read the Imperial Armour series, the books that actually detailed the Siege of Vraks. Within it, the Vraksians belief system was effectively based on a Marxist style uprising where Cardinal Xaphan's warped perspective of the Imperial Creed gave rise to what was effectively a class revolution. We merely added Oswald Mosley's philosophy on Totalism, or the total control of society by an educated, ruling elite that included the Church of England as a uniting force. And yes, they did call each other Comrade. The word Comrade isn't exclusive to the Soviets. Even the Nazis used the word 'Komraden' in their own text work.
@@bethelgeiser8748 Actually, yes, the books do have them calling each other as "comrade" and Xaphan rising up the masses from the Vraksian Forge Worlds to take up arms. In fact, it is a scene in the books where he has a speech before the workers of a Forge in Vraks Prime. That is the entire point of the analogy GW made. "Comrade" literally means "brother in arms". Also a small clarification above to Tracer's comment. As I have read all Siege of Vraks and Imperial Armour books as part of my homework for making the RG race, indeed GW's aim, being a British company first, was to use the British version of Marxism/Syndicalism, which was Oswald Mosley's "Totalism". One of its points was to have a "whirlwind of chaotic revolution". I think this now makes more sense why Vraks is how it is.

Dude this is so awesome, why do you even need astartes when you have all these different guard legions and the soroita for an added bonus. Great stuff you and the people you work with are made of. Ive been using titanium wars for forever now but im definitely switching over for sure, one thing id like to ask though is there a way to disable the handicap to resource rate when playing anything that isnt a 1v1 please?
Do you have resources sharing on? Resource sharing causes that issue of handicap resources beyond 1v1.

There is an old image from the 2nd Edition Imperial Guard Codex I think that best summarizes how far GW has fallen. It contained no less than thirty Guard Regiment types, including Krieg, Praetoria and Tekarn. All of these interesting, hand inked images of soldiers with snippets of lore and history... never pursued because GW would rather make more Space Marine Lieutenant models. The Guard are the most fascinating faction in the setting, and they will never reach their fullest potential.
At least with us, they will.

The Renegade Guard are in two subfactions: the Vraksian Revolutionary Army and the Tekarn Shogunate.
The Death Korps specifically are the 14th Teuton Infantry Regiment.
The Steel Legion are the 49th Dolumar IV (this a reference to the game Fire Warrior, which featured Steel Legion as enemy NPC's)
The Vostroyans are the Vostroyan 5th.
The Praetorian Guard are specifically the Malai Colonials.

So what makes renegade unique vs normal IG or krieg?
Vraks functions as a kind of Anti-Krieg, with a heavy focus on heavy armor, close range assault tanks and blobs of close combat based infantry, which you see on display in the trailer. Tekarn on the other hand borrows heavy from the Empire of the Rising Sun seen in RA3, with high mobility, tech superiority and firepower their main focus. They also employ a large number of heroes, so you can mix and match to your preferred tactical style.
When does this come out

* This is a mod for an old RTS - Warhammer 40 000 Dawn of War: Soulstorm
* It is one of 3 BIGGEST mods for that game - any of those add more features that was in the game (will all the expansions - it is crazy!).

His death was greatly exaggerated and the Chaos Powers resurrected him. Spoiler:
It is implied their benefactors at the end played a big role, not just in re-arming them. In addition, in-game, if Xaphan dies(again), he turns into a Warp Spawn!
@@apothecarykekoulis Not meant as a stab at Mr. Blum, I mean it literally. The Warp changes you due to the whims of the Warp, hence why Chaos Alexander and Loyalist Alexander sound a bit different to each other (but have the same tone and mannerisms).

I'm a real big fan of Warhammer and the moth but I'm very confused about what that last part with the shogunate is. Is that part of the mod or is that deep and lower or is that just more of the waifu stuff that keeps slowly dripping into the mod? I'm not complaining but I really like to know
There is Tekkarn Sector in The Imperium that Had japanese (pre meiji) themed Imperial Guard Regiments. Here apparently they are made their own thing with Chaos Undivided alligned Shogunate. Considering that Shoguness apparently said "once abbandoned us" might mean also a dab on Games Workshop for leaving out some Imperial factions or other factions untouched (because primaris). There are more Regiments of the Guard itself let alone traitors and xenos alligned Humans(massive traitors mostly T'au alligned) and yet gw only focuses on ultrasmurfs or leave these factions and races "untouched".
Personally I find it good that Mod Team is in constant search for older parts of the lore. Imperial Guard itself have so many regiment types that they could make enough factions for combat.
It is an old piece of lore.They are the 40k version of Fantasy Nippon.Back in the older days,GW would port their Fantasy factions to 40k.Vostroya is Kislev as you can guess.Eventually GW abandoned Nippon and Cathay(Cathay returned in TWW3 very recently) and as a result,so they did with Tekarn(and Vostroya since no one talks about them today).
In Fantasy,they are Tzeentch aligned and in 40k were meant to be Chaos against the Tau but GW dropped them before finishing while not retconning them out.Actually they still do that with the Ynnari and the Votann.
Just to focus on Marines...
Now for the waifus,if they can do it and do it well,as they do, then should do.We should not pretend normal 40k by GW is any different.Given Rogue Trader and Darktide are a thing now.
They are based on existing Lore, however because Games Workshop is Games Workshop and abandoned the idea of Space Japan after 2nd edition, the team took inspirations from other places, like Red Alert 3, Shogun 2 and Fantasy Nippon.

I was kinda expecting the Tekarn Shogunate to be a Tau-aligned human faction, given that Tau is basically the alien melting pot of China, Japan and India. But, praise Slaanesh I guess for the Tekarn representative who might as well name her group after a Slaanesh-blessed word that has six letters and starts with an H.

Actually not Slaanesh. While there are elements within Tekarn that are dedicatd to Her (one of the heroes you can spawn in in particular), their main deity is Tzeentch. This goes back to WF Nippon faction, who became Tzeentchian before GW decided to leave them behind. The god is quite fitting, considering Lord Raiden (the Japanese mythology one, not MK) takes the form of a Thunderbird.
So to answer your question, Praise Raiden-Sama! Praise Tzeentch!
@@Tracer_Krieg What Tracer said. GW played a bit in Nippon with Tzeentch being the Lord of (Warp) Storms, aka what Raiden means as a definition. So is only natural they followed him. :V
But as we wanted to have a more Undivided flavour, there are heroes and units available from other Chaos Marks as well.

I see you never read the Imperial Armour series, the books that actually detailed the Siege of Vraks. Within it, the Vraksians belief system was effectively based on a Marxist style uprising where Cardinal Xaphan's warped perspective of the Imperial Creed gave rise to what was effectively a class revolution. We merely added Oswald Mosley's philosophy on Totalism, or the total control of society by an educated, ruling elite that included the Church of England as a uniting force.
And yes, they did call each other Comrade. The word Comrade isn't exclusive to the Soviets. Even the Nazis used the word 'Komraden' in their own text work.

@@bethelgeiser8748 Actually, yes, the books do have them calling each other as "comrade" and Xaphan rising up the masses from the Vraksian Forge Worlds to take up arms. In fact, it is a scene in the books where he has a speech before the workers of a Forge in Vraks Prime.
That is the entire point of the analogy GW made. "Comrade" literally means "brother in arms".
Also a small clarification above to Tracer's comment. As I have read all Siege of Vraks and Imperial Armour books as part of my homework for making the RG race, indeed GW's aim, being a British company first, was to use the British version of Marxism/Syndicalism, which was Oswald Mosley's "Totalism". One of its points was to have a "whirlwind of chaotic revolution". I think this now makes more sense why Vraks is how it is.
