Yeah I really like Navy blue because it has color but it also makes your teeth look whiter, I've been using navy blue throughout my whole treatment just because it makes your teeth look really nice, I highly recommend this color.
Something of lighter shade of blue does a better job. Not only it creates contrast, the color also kinda reflects on the teeth, giving it a bluish color, thus making it look whiter.
Just a tip for teeth whitening my dentist gave told me! Get a mouth guard tray and put the Sensodyne tooth paste in it and put it on for 5 minutes before doing your teeth whitening treatment.
I agree with this. I got the white ceramic braces and I regret it. I thought it would be a better option because I’m older and wanted something less visible. Little did I know that they would absorb everything and make my teeth look dingy. What makes it worse is that most people don’t realize I’m wearing braces because of the white ceramic camouflaged with the rest of my teeth. I’m guessing they just think my teeth are discolored lol. Sucks. Can’t wait to get my braces off already and I wish you were my orthodontist. Love your upbeat energy. 🥰
My teeth were already super white naturally, before my braces. But I wasn't prepared for the fact that it's more difficult to keep teeth cleaner with braces on. At the beginning it gave me a fright haha. But now I'm keeping my mouth perfectly clean and I plan to whiten slightly when they come off.
I have the oral b genius 8000 I love that it’s Bluetooth and can tell you where your not brushing enough and putting too much pressure down and that it also has a sensitive tooth setting as well as many other settings 😃
My dentist recommended me to do a professional cleaning once a month or once every 6 weeks to prevent bad surprises after the braces are taken down. I have lingual braces and cleaning from the inside is very difficult. I do that regularly and it is a nice feeling to know that my dentist is monitoring the healthiness of my teeth. I visit my dentist and orthodontist once a month, and see one of them every 2 weeks. This has revealed to be a good thing, because I had a broken bracket and my tooth started to twist. I did not notice that, but my dentist did. So I immediately got an appointment at my othodontist and he told me that it was a good thing that he noticed that, as my treatment could have been prolonged in the worst case. I brush my teeth 5 times a day, ie. before and after braskfast, after lunch, after dinner and before going to bed. I will buy myself the whitening paste though, because I love black tea (2 cups a day).
Great info. I wish I would have seen this before getting braces. I have a tinge of yellow teeth and I took a lot of tetracycline as a child apparently and have darker teeth. I’m 55 years old and got the braces yesterday. I didn’t know anything about the colors. I asked for clear braces and clear rubbers. I LOVE and live for coffee (night shift workers fault). I didn’t know the rubbers would stain. And the student that put the rubbers on never said anything to me. 💔. I go back in two months so I’ll certainly use this advice when picking my color.
If i use a whitening toothpaste, wouldn't I get brown squares on my teeth when i remove my braces? I have avoided using whitening toothpaste for just this reason, but now im thinking about buying one.. What do you think?

I was using whitening toothpastes while I had braces on so to keep my teeth white. However, a couple of months before removing my braces, I switched to regular toothpaste so to make sure my teeth color looked uniform.
Not at all. The Material we use for essix retainers are firmer and stiffer. Hydrogen peroxide is what White's your teeth that will not Distort or discolour the trays in any way.

My two front teeth are a bit worn down from the ammount of fizzy drinks I had as a kid - i'll be getting composite bonding towards the end of treatment to rebuiild the tooth up, its good for chips too - very cost effective treatment and no butchering of the teeth like veeners

Invisalign users there's a foam cleaner - I put it in my trays and put them on. Or, brush your teeth, rinse, re-brush with whitening toothpaste, don't rinse and put trays in. And, I rinse with a non-alcohol mouthwash with my trays in - freshens mouth and washes into area between trays and teeth. I"m out of Invisalign in a couple months and so excited about my smile.

You can’t reverse receding gums. You just need to have a better oral health/hygiene to stop it from getting worse. If it’s severe, you might need a gum graft.
Last Sunday i got my braces.. and they also put a bite blocker in my mouth... And trust me my life is hell now.. I am just waiting for the day when they will come off.. 😭 Braces are the worst.
Star Lord I have blue glue bite blocks in the back teeth on the bottom and I have braces as well I got braces a while back I think like 4 or 5 months ago but I only had the brackets and bite blocks because I needed 4 teeth for room in my mouth and it was not easy. I now have the wires only as of a couple weeks ago and I am very used to the bite blocks now. Don’t worry you will get used to it! You got this it will be easier soon! 😊 you got this!!! ☺️

I just got the wires in a couple weeks ago because they used power chains to close the space from removing teeth for space so after that I got the wires and now my treatment is really starting. But it’s basically started for like 4 or 5 months now. But all my ortho appointments are extremely painful 😣. And I have another appointment like 2 days before Halloween to get new wires and whatever else there gonna do 😭😭😭😭😭😭
White spots are usually an early stage of caries. If you keep a good oral hygiene, you can stop the development of it and also prevent any new cavities/white spots from forming! And as for the white spots that you already have, I'm not so sure that you can get rid of them.

I’ve been wearing my elastics for a couple months now and it’s more comfortable for my teeth when they are at the perfect bite in the front, but when I bite like this my back teeth do not touch. Hello I was wondering if Hello toothpaste charcoal or regular toothpaste would be good for during braces? It doesn’t feel like it has abrasive charcoal.
My and my mom's dentist that she's been going to since she was my age recommends baking soda mixed with toothpaste, wet brush then dip in baking soda at the front of bristles and then add normal toothpaste to the brush, a few times a month. It works well but I don't do it too often because I'm wondering if this is too abrasive though. He also recommends a battery brush that has the two pieces that move, one spins and the other goes up and down or side to side. White strips won't adhere well with how my teeth are aligned currently, looking into braces but haven't started yet.

This was a year ago but incase anyone wants to reveiw this later no it does not count as flossing proxi brushes (those little ones) gets inbetween your braces with the wires flossing on the other hand gets in your gums where more plaque could possibly be growing. If i do say so myself i would recomend both and floss minimal of once a day

i have a question. I got my braces off in 2017 and while they were doing the small filing to remove the stain from having the brackets glued down my orthodonist accidentally filled down on my tooth and now theres a permanent like.. small skid mark on my tooth towards the gums (theres a small white patch in the center of the skid mark. and it is noticeable to the eye) It isnt big or deep and my top lip covers it when i smile and speak but its noticable to me when and its been bothering me for a while. Since Im now scared that my tooths enamel was perma. damaged or smthn. Should I be worried about this for the future and look to getting this skid mark filled in or should I stop worrying? its been an on and off worry of mine.

I use baking soda and lemon juice as a paste 3-4 times per week, or baking soda 2 times per day, EVERYDAY. My teeth looks great 👍
lemon juice? Doesn't the acid wear away at the enamel and expose the yllow dentine beneath?

When you get your retainers you can use the clear Essix retainers as bleaching trays.
Wouldn’t it ruin the retainers? Probably discolor it over time.

Do you recommend giving the enamel "time to rest", after bracket removal, before professional whitening? If so, how long?
I would, the brackets just got removed from the teeth. Let them get used to and let the enamel become healthy and strong again.

I drink a coffee cup a day, if I brush shortly after I drink a cup, will I still contribute to darker teeth?
If you keep drinking coffee I would just use a straw and don’t swish it around in your mouth so it can’t get in your teeth

Hello doctor, Does golden turmeric milk cause yellowing of teeth and ceramic braces..?
This is what I'm looking for. I just change my tie colour to light blue 3 days ago and now it's changing into green colour since I eat curry. I hate itttt. I should've pick grey 😭
I never tried black colour cuz my braces is transparent, but it's not damon so I still need to pick tie colour.
So during braces, whitening tooth paste are ok right? It wont have the “poster” effect like the strips you mentioned? Because my orthodontist recommended a tooth paste with high fluoride in it but with no whitening properties. If i brush twice for each of those tooth paste, is it ok for my teeth? Please advise. Hello I was wondering if Hello toothpaste charcoal or regular toothpaste would be good for during braces? It doesn’t feel like it has abrasive charcoal.
I just had my braces today and I chose clear bands 😅 so now I know what color to choose
My and my mom's dentist that she's been going to since she was my age recommends baking soda mixed with toothpaste, wet brush then dip in baking soda at the front of bristles and then add normal toothpaste to the brush, a few times a month. It works well but I don't do it too often because I'm wondering if this is too abrasive though. He also recommends a battery brush that has the two pieces that move, one spins and the other goes up and down or side to side. White strips won't adhere well with how my teeth are aligned currently, looking into braces but haven't started yet.

When you get your braces off do you have a lighter square of where your braces were? I’m getting my braces off in a few weeks and I am afraid this might happen.

How long after brushing should you use the strips? If I’m not mistaken the box says do not use directly after brushing but I would think that’s the best time

Yes it wont but whitening tooth pastes are generally not strong enough to cause a significant difference!

So could I use a whitening toothpaste (Sensodyne Whitening) with braces and still prevent having discoloration after removing my braces? I am only 8 weeks into my braces journey and I have only worn silver color ties, but I feel like my teeth look yellow-ish? Thanks in advance!
I belive the staining that had been created from the braces is what the whitning will help with so i would say thats a sage bet also burgendy and dark blue are gret colors i recomend
Can I drink tea with milk? Meaning milk tea. I heard it’s not that bad for your teeth like green tea or coffee.
That’s why I stopped drinking coffee and started drinking milk tea.
It should be better! I always recommend rinsing w/ water after too!
So I’ve been in braces for almost a year and I haven’t been good at brushing my teeth and I’m afraid I might have staining after I get the braces off. If I do, are there any ways to get the stains from the braces off?

Since tooth enamel is like a woven sponge, wouldn't it in theory still whiten your teeth under your brackets regardless if that surface area is covered?

Hi! Are the mini brushes about to go between your teeth counted as flossing :)
This was a year ago but incase anyone wants to reveiw this later no it does not count as flossing proxi brushes (those little ones) gets inbetween your braces with the wires flossing on the other hand gets in your gums where more plaque could possibly be growing. If i do say so myself i would recomend both and floss minimal of once a day
I'm about a year into my braces treatment, haven't once been offered to choose the colours of my elastics or powerchains? Not that I have a problem with it, but curious as to maybe why?

My teeth were yellow before braces the dentists just said that they were just my natural teeth color so I’m wondering on when you said you can use whitening toothpaste and mouthwash how often can u use
i have a question. I got my braces off in 2017 and while they were doing the small filing to remove the stain from having the brackets glued down my orthodonist accidentally filled down on my tooth and now theres a permanent like.. small skid mark on my tooth towards the gums (theres a small white patch in the center of the skid mark. and it is noticeable to the eye) It isnt big or deep and my top lip covers it when i smile and speak but its noticable to me when and its been bothering me for a while. Since Im now scared that my tooths enamel was perma. damaged or smthn. Should I be worried about this for the future and look to getting this skid mark filled in or should I stop worrying? its been an on and off worry of mine.
Could anyone recommend any good whitening toothpastes?
