Why not use this as a "fit mouse" and 3D print one-piece shells on demand? Ship the whole kit with a return label, and the user can get their perfect customized mouse. This is exactly how high dollar (competition, Olympic, etc) shotguns are made - a dude dials this thing in with all these variable geometry bits, and they make a custom stock that makes it fit you perfectly.
That is a good idea and would cut back on some waste. I'd like mice to go even favour. With people being able to swap out the switches, PCB, and batteries easily. Even much less waste and even more customisable choices for us all.
I'm old enough to remember that back in 2007, Logitech already implemented the idea of a modular mouse in their G9x mouse release 😅 It came with multiple swappable mouse "shells," allowing one to change the shape of a mouse. Also, if I'm not mistaken, they were made out of different materials, changing the mouse's feel drastically. Moreover, it came with a set of small metal weights that you may fit inside the mouse to adjust its weight without changing its shape. Finally, for a DPI indicator, it allowed to the change of the LED indicator colours, and is capable of storing different configuration profiles on the mouse itself. Oh, an almost forgot that it two different modes for a scroll wheel - regular and free one.
I've been using my Razer Basilisk V2 (G502 shape) for years now and I'm looking to upgrade and this is the perfect thing. Will be pre-ordering as soon as it goes live.
I hope the company behind this proves me wrong, but, IMO, the smaller a piece of tech is, the harder it is and less worthwhile it is to make modular. The novelty is understandable, but I'm not holding my breath to see if it takes the e-sports scene by storm.
Props to orbitalworks for doing something different than making a superlight/viper shape
Technically they did make that as well as others
@@ghostscyther8667 😂 ig they did

Wow a modular mouse that I can increase the dimensions of my mouse! Now all I need is one that can increase my skill. 😢
They need to include weights like in the olden days. I need me some 150g 130mm long and heavy boi.
And yes, the Wooting 80HE, is really good. I built mine last Wednesday.
Where is the dex2 review?
Now every company will say that they copied their shape
Evidently you don't have any serious problems to get worried about an ideal pointing device.
I want a Mini Version !!
You can just swap the whole mouse for a different one

On their website, pre orders start 10/1 for $189

They say more than 2,500
is it just me or does it really look like a storm trooper!😅😅
Looks like an alien chode
But you can't change the height... which is a big let down for palm grippers
you guys should evolve and leave the palm grip behind
