  • In this video, we show you our Top 5 Favorite Striper lures that we use specifically to target Stripers at dams. Links listed below. #stripers #striperfishing
These are Amazon Affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Top 5 Striper Lure Link: These lures cover all the seasons:
Zoom Fluke with jig head: Versatile, you can work it off the bottom where the stripers usually hang out as they hide from the current. You can also as a casting bobber to it and cover the upper water column. Size of the jig head will depend on how far and how fast you want the setup to cast and sink.
    Zoom Flukes: ebay.us/NJEPW3
    Zoom Flukes: amzn.to/3JAQyi8
Spooks style Top water Plugs are super effective when stripers are boiling and busting on shad. These are the ones we usually go with.
    Yo-zuri hydro Pencil: amzn.to/3bvECS8
    Cordell Pencil Poppers: amzn.to/3PXkRlf
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vibration Baits - Not many people use these but they are very effective when other lure are not working. Work them through any of the water column to get bit.
    Bill Lewis Rattle Trap: amzn.to/3Qk02k0
Strike King Red Eye Shad: amzn.to/3PX5GJ5
The Alabama rig comes in all sort of shape and size. Find the one that best works for you. They don't through great, but the size and attracting power it has to stripers is amazing.
    A-Rigs: Tornadoinnovation.com
Divers - Long time Striper fisherman knows that these divers are a must have in the bag. Most effective right before sunrise or right after sunset. These have a weight transfer system(except the Bomber) that allows you to cast very far with them. Even though the bomber is not super great at casting, you can "load" them up to get better casting distance. Again, these are "Must haves."
    Daiwa SP Minnow: amzn.to/3JuqkxE
    Yo-zuri Hydro Minnow: amzn.to/3vDAK8k
    Bomber Long A: amzn.to/3zCn6Uq

I fish spillways all the time. look for days with consecutive rain. that forces the power company to release water. fall and winter they might let the water out daily. My hometown spillway lets the water out daily at 2:45 pm. when the water is lowering they switch to every other day. during drought heat in summer they might not release water until rain restores the levels.

As much as I liked this video and I always love to see people catching fish , maybe one day you will think about that fishes future, like bring them in and letting them flap around on the concrete, that just has to be good for them eh . one with half its upper jaw taken out from the hook, but still you tossed it back in maybe not caring that its future for eating and living and growing bigger was some what diminished.. Yeah I was pretty surprised by the way they released those fish, especially after the first one went belly up, if your gonna take the time and go to the effort of catching those fish at least take the time to make sure they release good... pretty sad
