just seen this video randomly pop up on my feed and seen how you had 10,000 views and only 900 followers so i had to give u a subscribed really great video hope I can try this out at the dam near my house
Thank you and I appreciate it. Damn fishing is great! Idk what dam you will be hitting up but I hope it works for you. It works great for these dams we have around here. Let me know if you get anything!
I love how well this set up looks. It I have some concerns fishing it myself, the braid is down at the bottom with the rocks and with that weigh attached with a swivel you loose your whole rig if you get snagged. But seems very affective out side of those concerns
I learned something today! The water across the river looked powerful 😮. Skip Jack make perfect bait ;/$ Always so much trash unfortunately. Good stuff man. Keep it Stanky Dude, great video!
Stank bait what's going on man! New subscriber here! Man you went off on those white bass that's what I'm talking about! That spot is banging! Great episode man I loved it keep on getting down!
I just saw your channel and have a question. My son and I are beginners and tried to fish in a fast flowing dam like this. We have a size BB split shot which was the smallest. Do you recommend the 3oz weight when fishing in fast current like this?
I do 2.5-3oz depending on how fast the current is. Most days 2.5oz works. I like it to stay on the bottom but not go super slow as it moves down stream. There is a sweet spot that prevents hang ups but keeps it on bottom. This damn it works great on. Another one I fish I don’t use as much weight because I work to keep it off the bottom for less time.
I don’t want to over complicate it but it can depend on some factors. I almost could make a whole video about that question. Current can play a big factor in this and so can the weight of your sinkers. Some days at this location I get hung up a ton while others I seem to rarely hang up. It normally boils down to current and sinkers. There is a dam further down from this one that I hang the bottom much more due to rocks andd have to keep the rig off the bottom as it moves. It also produces nice fish but takes more finesse. It took me some time to get this method down to where I don’t lose much gear anymore. I would say just test how it works at your location and go into it expecting to lose some gear. Go to a lower sinker weight if it hits bottom and hangs up immediately.

Hello! Thanks for stopping in! I have done that up around Town Creek Bridge. Sometimes it can get crowded though. Join Guntersville lake crappie fishing in facebook if you havent already. Its a great way to keep up with where they are biting.
Sure thing! That was a Penn prevail 8’ rod. The reel was a Penn battle 2 5000. The reel is likely not in production anymore but there are similar ones.
Fishing with the right sequence using soflure bait, then the first and second stretches of the same fish you release again, the third is also the same fish but bigger, greetings as a hobby friend, success
That stinks! When I was learning this dam I lost plenty of money on tackle but eventually got a feel for it. Some dams just have an unbearable anount of rocks though for sure.
@@stankbaitfishing7914 Yep, I like using a very big and deep diving crank bait. Ha, tug too hard, too deep, and you can lose it to the rocks in a heart beat!
Nice Bro! That is a smart setup and looked very affective. Way to get on the fish. Keep it up 👊
Thanks for the support! More appreciated than you know. 👊
Great video man! That looks like such a wild place to fish! We don't have anything like that in Australia.
Thanks! Fishing Australia is a blast I bet!
GET TO BUILDUNG A PLACE LIKE THAT

The majority of the time I lose my rig due to the hook/mono leader. Rarely do I have to replace the whole rig BUT I do have those days happen.
Wow. Ive never had the place to myself like that. Always people on the wall
It is better on colder days but alone there is def hard to come by. I went yesterday and it was absolutely covered up with people.
I learned something today! The water across the river looked powerful 😮. Skip Jack make perfect bait ;/$
Always so much trash unfortunately.

Hello awesome video. I am fishing my first damn but it has a rocking bottom that guarantees snag will this method still work ?

You're lucky, the dams in out area have lots of granite below the damn. You would get hung and lose your bait if you ever let it sink to the bottom.
That stinks! When I was learning this dam I lost plenty of money on tackle but eventually got a feel for it. Some dams just have an unbearable anount of rocks though for sure.
