    If you're brand new to I.T. its a great introduction. Im halfway through it and feel like I am learning relevant information every step of the way. There are some minor irritations with the quality of the labs, however.

    I got an entry level IT job mainly because of this certificate. I learned that college degree does not compare to the value of certs in technical fields. I would recommend for people to getting certificate or do boot camps than college degree.

      I’ve ran into that. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems with only about 300 hours assisting my local IT department at work. It’s been hard trying to get my foot in the door when my knowledge is limited regarding Desktop Support. I can image computers, change out RAM, hard drives, fluke data ports, ping IP’s, and basic Windows troubleshooting. Anything outside of that, it’s limited.

    I just completed this certificate before taking the tests for my A+ - Been spending a few months studying, doing practice tests, etc. Both cover similar but different topics. I highly suggest studying for both. We'll see if I manage to land a position with the google certificate.. I've received 3 or 4 interviews but unfortunately no luck yet, maybe the certification will change things.

    i just got done taking the course its the best course if you want to get your feet wet and see if this is something you want to do. I enjoyed it but need more training for the comptia A+, I wouldnt under estimate the program, much studying and learning but doenst prepare for comptia. It doesnt take 6 months took me 6 weeks but great program for beginners then continue with more training, and great for your resume because of the certification of completion.

    • @ITCareerGuide

      This specific certificate may not be the best choice for you in that case. I would look at CompTIA Network+ instead. You may not have to become certified, but following the course curriculum will give you a solid understanding of networking. th-cam.com/video/bJXzqEg5TTg/w-d-xo.html

      Hi John. I tried taking the ComopTIA ITF+ course. Honestly I think they need to approach that course more from a beginner's perspective. I ddidn't find the material to be helpful and most of the time I looked up information on Google for a better explanation of the course content. I gave up on the course. Now I'm doing the Google IT course and I think the teaching style is better as well as the content. It could be the way the content is writtent.

    Hello. I currently work as an intern in a computationally assisted research centre where they usually work on cluster management and HPC management. Will the Google IT support certificate make me a competent employee for my office?

    • @ITCareerGuide
      @ITCareerGuide  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on which direction you want to go. It is not a 100% fit with that tech exposure you have. I would think it may give you some helpful knowledge, but if your goal is system administration I would look at different options. I would definitely talk to your peers at work and what they would recommend. It can actually be very helpful for you to ask at work and express your interest. You would not be first person that lands the right job opportunity that way.

    Will taking this course help me prepare for the A+ exams ?

    • @ITCareerGuide
      @ITCareerGuide  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It will, but A+ covers a few more areas - so, this alone will not fully prepare you. However, the customer service knowledge that Google teaches you as an example is so critical to have. So, together with A+ this certification is definitely carrying a lot of value. Read the course outline and curriculum and compare it to A+.

    Is this accept the Google IT professional certificate in other countries to apply job?.

    • @ITCareerGuide
      @ITCareerGuide  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on each country. Hard to tell. Some countries prefer official college degrees or apprenticeships, but it also depends on each employer. I would say, if the course shows content you like to learn, go for it. If you are just doing it for the certification, I am not sure if it helps in your country of residence.

      @@ITCareerGuide, So sad for me, I'm not finished my college, which is why I found this course on Google with the purpose of obtaining a professional certificate and looking for jobs overseas. However, I preserve my certifications and use them to supplement my resume when applying for jobs abroad. You are correct; it is employer-specific.
