I think that is what is lost in North American culture where we put the everyday grind ahead of that and it is getting lost. My husband and I are both first generation Canadians (our parents are all from Italy) and the thing we love most about going to italy is appreciating the slower pace of life. The negative effects of globalization greed has destroyed work life balance, culture and community in most of "western" world. It's very sad, let's hope covid will help force a balance with benefit and sustainability. ❤️

This was a nice surprise today to watch as I sit all alone quarantining while I wait for results of Covid 😢. I thought that the long squash were Sicilian cucuzza too! My family used to grow them when I was young. We've lost the seeds now. I need to get some seeds and try it 40 years later. 😊

Also what Carlo calls zucche Americane, my dad calls ‘cuccuzzi siciliani’, and has grown them for years, right here in 🇨🇦, in his orto, and now that I think about it, with smuggled seeds most likely, from one of the trips he took back when, to visit family! Wow! those plum tomatoes were humungous... definitely an American photo shoot with Carlos.. he'll need to lose the flip flops though.. My tomato plant has started to wilt in the heat, I don't think it will survive... I've offered it words of encouragement as your supposed to talk to your plants but I think it's sulking.. Hi Nicki, beautiful tomatoes, and the long squash that Carlo called American squash, here in America it's called Sicilian squash ( cucuzza) a lot of Italians grow them in their back yards, especially Sicilians. Last year my daughter's neighbor was growing them and they all ended up growing over her fence, we ate a lot squash. 😊. Very good with tubettini pasta. Enjoy yours. Ciao.

Just a small tip - the spider in your vegetable garden really helped you guys with pest control and I know most of us don't see the benefit in leaving spiders, Snakes etc do their very important work maybe just consider leaving them alone in future. (Don't mean to be insulting and I might get lots of people crucifying me for saying this 🙈) You guys are amazing and I really get a lot of tips from watching your vlogs
Breaking their webs with a broom stick to get to the fruit picking does them no harm a they can build them again in another place. Nicki does not kill the spiders as you will see.

Wow! those plum tomatoes were humungous... definitely an American photo shoot with Carlos.. he'll need to lose the flip flops though.. My tomato plant has started to wilt in the heat, I don't think it will survive... I've offered it words of encouragement as your supposed to talk to your plants but I think it's sulking.. Your home and garden are so beautiful and cozy!!! The upper area where you can your tomatoes would be a perfect space for an outdoor kitchen. Carlo can do everything! You should add it to his “honey do” list! 😉
Heather Cortez I would love an outdoor kitchen here in Canada. It can get very hot inside sometimes , and expensive to run an air conditioner.

Hi Nicki, beautiful tomatoes, and the long squash that Carlo called American squash, here in America it's called Sicilian squash ( cucuzza) a lot of Italians grow them in their back yards, especially Sicilians. Last year my daughter's neighbor was growing them and they all ended up growing over her fence, we ate a lot squash. 😊. Very good with tubettini pasta. Enjoy yours. Ciao.

Thanks so much for your videos.We breakfast with you daily..quarantine is now easier thanks to you.My maternal great and grandparents are from Positano :Vittorio Persico,Eugenia Bottone,and my Grandfather Giuseppe Salvatore Persico came to NYC to live.Question:My family lived in a house that they gave to some nuns when they left. I wonder if anyone in Carlo’s family might have an idea of the house.There was a family photo of it but it disappeared before we visited your beautiful village.

Just a small tip - the spider in your vegetable garden really helped you guys with pest control and I know most of us don't see the benefit in leaving spiders, Snakes etc do their very important work maybe just consider leaving them alone in future. (Don't mean to be insulting and I might get lots of people crucifying me for saying this 🙈) You guys are amazing and I really get a lot of tips from watching your vlogs

Breaking their webs with a broom stick to get to the fruit picking does them no harm a they can build them again in another place. Nicki does not kill the spiders as you will see.
