Typhon 4x4 223S BLX: alnk.to/1N2LrF7
Full review of the all-new Arrma Typhon 4x4 223S BLX V4. It's been 4 years since the last Typhon 4x4, and there have been a lot of updates! Let's see how good the buggy is!
#arrma #arrmatyphon
Yessss, a shootout with the syncro4
Love the body paint scheme. Solid for sure.
I love it too!
Love Arrma ,bought 3 of them last week this RC from the video was 1 of em. I have shorts up of em. Best bank for your buck in my opinion.
2 2 3s looks awesome. Epic time to be in r/c.
i really like the changes they made.
Arrma really is a great company, The way they’re Rcs perform out of the box is always on point .
My opinion is probably a bit biased since the first Arrma I bought was the Granite Grom when it was first released. The plastic gears in the rear differential went out less then 2 weeks after I bought it, then had to wait over 5 months before I could get it fixed cause everyone had the same problem. To make it worse, they actually had steel gear diffs that fit it, and a week after I got the stock plastic one, for 17.99, the steel ones finally were available, for 40.99.... Not to mention the junk brushless motor with built-in esc 🤦 that the hobby shop sold me....which never worked right, had no warranty, and was discontinued by the manufacturer.... So now it's a pile of worthless parts on the shelf for a year now, and probably only drove it a month in all that time.....
Drives and flies great
It does!
Just got mine..love it! Have the last version also.. wanted the yellow…. But most were sold out.. but the green is growing on me ..the new dynamic vehicle control.. is great.. arrma keeps going strong
Great review as always. Would love to see a shootout👍
I just came across this car today at the local race shop! My first RC car.
I need to solder some leads onto some CNHL 3s 5000mah packs I had gotten on a free give away a few weeks ago, just paid $5 for shipping. They have 'pick any of the following two' free batteries just cover shipping coupons from time to time if your on a mailing list. Plan to have some fun at the local park tomorrow.
Great review just preordered Kraton v6
Looks like a great buggy with the redesign. I need to get one of these new 3s with all the upgrades! My sons Granite is almost indestructible with minimal upgrade 👍
I'm looking forward to the rest of the 6s line getting the v6 treatment. I really hope they keep the Fireteam and give it new colors.
Me too! Although I’m not sure yet about the non adjustable pillow balls. I like being able to set them so they are free but with no slack.
I got excited seen razor v4 blx , grabbed my glasses 👓 😮 are they not going come out with v5 typhon not that I have any more room
Yea I didn’t think that I usually use kraton hubs
I love the Typhon 3s platform. So light and jumps very well. I’m not sure how this 2 in 1 esc will work out long term, but only time will tell.
For reference my son has a V3 granite 3S. 50mph on gps on pavement but hard to control at that speed due to tire ballooning. Only thing we’ve broken is one half shaft where it attaches to the diff (plastic snapped). Also body is starting to crack but that’s expected
the Granite is a beast
My only complaint with arrma is the metal chassis and I'm glad to see plastic chassis coming out. They are way more durable
Yes to the Jato syncro shootout
Great review!
Thanks!
Just got me one of these. One of the straps for the battery has a tab that holds it down, I bought a non-arrma battery so the tab doesn’t fit my batt. Is the strap hard to remove so I can get one without the tabs?
I'm trying to figure out which entry level 1/8 buggy to go to the track with. I don't think I'm ready to line up and race yet. Typhon, Typhon TLR, Corally syncro4 or the big money dump on the Tekno? I have my own Sanwa Mt-R radio already but those race buggy prices for a beginner really scare me. 😮
TLR Typhon
When will Arrma release the Granite 223s v4?
Wondering the same thing myself, man.
I don't know, but I would guess early next year. 🤷♂️
My question is would this be acceptable at a local RC track as a beginner
Hello, congratulations on the video. I want to buy a 1/10 scale RC, I'm looking at the Losi Tenacity DB PRO. I would like to know your opinion because I'm going to use the RC for jumps if the Losi Tenacity DB PRO is more suitable than the Arrma Typhon 223s. Thank you
How many of these parts can I swap into the V3? I bought it two weeks before this was released 😢
Is it worth getting any of these (like the lower profile wing?)
I put the side gaurds on my v3 with clipless body ( jennyrc had the parts cheap)
@ you can run the clipless body on a V3???
I had already upgraded to the metal inputs with plastic diff crown long ago ( run on 4s with max10 with 3670 2650kv, I stayed with the slipper setup )
@@Wraithyn1 the side guards come with the front posts that leaves the rear attachment point which came with the bundle from jennys, the chassis are almost identical,
@@stoeger2-d7qsounds like I gotta upgrade, i’ve done both diffs with metal ones and a metal spur/slipper so it’s time to go to 4S! Hahaha.
I've seen people run out of the bind plug on the brushed 2 in 1 arrma esc to a separate receiver but I'm not sure about the brushless version
Great review! I would still like to learn more about Traxxas buggy on brushless. How good is it on the track? Not expecting it to be competitive but for over $550 plus it should not be at the back of the pack on a local course. How does it stack up against the 223s Typhon on a course? I am guessing the Syncro 4 edges them both out on a track or course?
Do you think I should go with 2S or 3S and this buggy? Goal is to go bashing with my son at the local park and a jump track like you show in your video.
I'd go 3S and just turn down the power if it's too fast.
Ohhhh I would love to see the size difference between this and what's labeled as a 1/10th scale valkyrie tr. Bc my valkyrie is a bit bigger than my other 10th scale redcat truck. Just curious of actual size. Also and bc the valkyrie is like $30 cheaper than this 223s typhon
Hey let arrma know we need the 1/5 scale Typhon 8s
Will a 3s spectrum 5000 mah 100c fit in that battery box?
I have six of those batteries and if they fit I’ll order one😊
Thank you
Merry Christmas
Yea i have one they will
definitely
I got two of them, they hate 3s battery’s both of mine give me 5 minutes or run time on 3s before over heating. And I’m a flat parking lot the right front shock snapped on both of them kind of strange.
If we're talking entry level and price I would go with the Arma Typhon Grom everyday. You literally get everything you need. If you're just starting for 140 bucks. Can't beat that s***
If anyone sees this, I just got a brand new Typhon 223S and the drive train seems very tight like it won't roll on its own When I push it is... the pinion mesh too tight?
the front and rear diffs are a bit tight, they get better as it runs in
@RazorRC thanks bud someone else said the same thing... coming from you definitely means alot 🤙
Arrma has been slashing since 2015. Traxxas and redcat had them beat entirely. Now though, think they’re finally releasing respectable offerings now. I did break a K4 arm, but it’s also used so I’m not sure if that was my fault or the previous owners
This or a syncro 4 for the same money?
Great review btw!
Thicken up that shock oil to 50 ta 60 wt to get rid of that hard chassis slap. She'll settle down easier and bite quicker ........ 💯
The Old MOTORS WERE 3200KV
Yes. I said in the video "no change from the other V4's".
Cool entry level rig, but I can only imagine how uninspiring 2s in a 8th scale buggy would feel. Even 3s would leave you wanting more IMO.
I’ve raced my Typhon 3S with kit builds on an 1/8th scale tracks and 3S is plenty on this thing. It’s super lightweight with the plastic chassis and it rips. If I’ve beaten $2000 kit builds on it, and I’ve only raced 1/8th scale a few times, it doesn’t need more power haha
@GeddyRC good point, I guess I never factored in the plastic build spec, I mean it kind of a departure from what 8th buggies usually are. Would make sense that 3s is ample for it lightweight. Guess it might compete on a club level.
@@K2H117 hey brother just to add to that I have a 3S and I took it to the track. I have the V3 model. I will tell you brother that thing is very very impressive for it being what it is I think this one with the center diff will make it even better. I do feel like if I had the center diff I would’ve had faster lap times but just to let you know I have tried it and it was very fun and I was very pleased with it
@@K2H117 I will add as well. You have to turn the power down on it. I put mine to about 60% because if it was at 100% it jumps off the track lol
I have The v1 it's on 4s 120blx AND 2400kvblx motor
20 t 23 , I started mounting 40 mm fans on chassis blowing over the whole Modual with their stuff nothing gets hot ,
In my opinion they should have stayed away from the two in one systems,😊 or they should have at least made the ESC 100 amp instead of 80 I'm not a big fan of 2 and 1 systems the original came with a 100 amp
The 2-in-1 completely kills it for me. I'm used to having to replace receivers in RTRs to run my DSMR radio, but there's no reason to have to replace the ESC too just to run one of their better radios.
What is the purpose of the review if you’re gonna pull the speed control out of it anyway and replace it with something else?
@@ATTRMRC what’s the point of watching the video if you’re not going to listen to what I said on why I tried the old ESC?
@ truly doubt anyone wants to see a review with old Electronics when they’re looking to purchase something based off of a review.
@ I think the biggest question is whether the new lower amp ESC is worse than the V3 one, which is what I answer in the video. If you want to know more about the new one I have full reviews of the Senton and Vorteks with the new ESC.
First 😁🤘🏻

Die Übersetzung ist absolut mieserabel ........Klimaanlage gibt es nicht im RC Car dieser Sparte...... Sorry , aber man sollte keine KI zum Übersetzen nehmen . Zuviel gerede , was sich gleich wieder wiederspricht . Die Empfänger/Regler Kombo ist der Grund , warum ich die neuen 223 S Modelle nicht mehr kaufen werde
