Does make you wonder why the upgrades are so expensive though. I’ve spent approx £700 on all 3 of my converted groms, accounting for selling off stock stuff too and still don’t have the alloy shocks or steering links. With these and the mini maxx I think I’ve learnt not to buy the first version of something!
@@BishyRCreplacement and upgrade parts are the primary source of revenue for hobby grade rc brands. If they sold them at cost or for the price per part of a full car it would be a significant loss!
Even if you don't need the extra speed of brushless, buy the BLX for the added durability of the steel diff outdrives and upgraded shafts. You'll save money in the long run. I like the sane approach to this review!

I love my mojave 223. Fantastic little machine on 2s or 3s. It does everything- fast, drifting, jumping, off road the lot. Arrma hit the top with this thing!!
Got my thyphon couple of weeks ago what a quality item and great fun. Had a granite grom also previously as you say having paid for all the upgrades on that, these are great value for money from a big brand. Granite wheels or the pro-wheel wheels make it even better. Be interesting to see if they make a granite brushless, there isn’t space for the fan which is why I think we probably won’t be getting that unfortunately hopefully though.

My greatest ach6was getting a Policewoman to get out the speed gun and measure the speed of my HPI RS4 Ken block that I converted to Flux power, 56mph. She also videoed it doing donuts in front of her Bww Police car and uploaded it to the Police site

Yep I'll definitely echo that this is an amazing value. It was NOT cheap to upgrade my brushed typhon grom and beef up all the drivetrain with the metal diffs and cvds and such but dang it's a hoot
I spent a LOT to put a castle system (the SW4 might be overkill but oh well) and a bunch of steel driveline parts onto my grom, and it still doesnt have stability control.... And here arrma gave us all that and more for a few bucks more. The brushed versions are absolutely obsolete now, in the best way

Im running the typhon grom blx up here in Alaskas snow and ice and rain and its been a real champ. Freezing temps wont keep me and my boy from having some rc fun ❤

Hello Tomley, I recently saw your TH-cam short with the 45th 939. What body mount did you use on that? I've tried different magnetic mounts, they all work but still kinda suck. They're too finicky...
Man the typhon from might be my next smaller scale rig. I've got several of the big ones and they're incredibly strong. The arrma 3-4s line is all incredibly strong
I bought my daughters their first rc’s over the summer. Youngest got the typhon grom the oldest got the granite grom. I was so upset when less than two months after I bought them they released the brushless versions… now I’m upgrading them for Christmas. Thanks arrma 😝
My two favorite RC's right now! Love them both for different reasons but the power to weight ratio and durability is top class. Only problem is I had to get two of each because my daughter kept stealing mine lol. But for the price not an issue.
Ugh. I have the granite V1, managed to blow the rear diff by maxxing the suspension so the dogbones were yanking... But I love how it handles at slow speeds, not too easy but learnable (M-75 speaks here) I'm trying to replicate 1:1 rock bouncer feel, not too overpowered! Think it's time for the mojave V2!
Can't see a link for the Arrma bigrock.. that would be my choice. Apart from that I appreciate all your reviews and enthusiasm. Keep up the good work.😊

Servo for these seems to always be slow out of the box, after about 20 left-rights they are pretty fast. Did the rear dampers have enough oil? Mine came with one not properly filled.
I had the original Arrma Grom 1/16th brushed truck. I saw that Arrma was going to release a brushless version of this small truck. I did not run my brushed version and sold it on eBay. I got the brushless version now. Like you said, it is too expensive to upgrade the brushed one, so I sold it and got the brushless one. Thoughts?
Same wheelbase, but isn’t the width different? The bounce is quite different. I think the shocks are the same length but the Mojave comes with 1000 cst, the Typhon 2000 cst. Not sure if the springs are the same.
Traxxas has some great trucks, love my Xmaxx and trx4 but man Arrma and redcat absolutely crushed them this year. Hopefully they make something NEW next year that is truly good

To beef up lexan bodies I like to use JB Weld Quik Weld. Doesn't add too much weight and makes them darn near invincible.

The motor gets a bit warm on 3s, i found that a 30mm rocket fan fits in the stock fan mount perfectly

Ive trimmed the inside of the body supports and i got a 4200 stubby 2s fitting perfectly.

Review the MN99s V2. Its the 2nd version of the MN99s you reviewed. Its way better than the old one. It might even beat the Fayee FY003-1.

Yeah, I noticed with the Typhon that it gradually got quicker and quicker. Didn't check the oil, but plan to set it up properly soon
