I'm excited to see this kind of exposure for the hardest working automotive painting educator on TH-cam! Congrats and well earned. I hope you get Tavarish to suit up and paint some himself.
@@PaintSocietyhello brian, i am painting my sevtheth gen civic ans i got 50 grans of a black and blue mica powder. Should i mis with the black base coat and spray or spray black base and add to gloss clear. Ive been told both ways but need to no from the best and that is you. Also is 50 grams enough of the mica powder. Thatks so much. I no its just paint , dont over think it. Lol. I reall not sure and cant afford to mess it up
I work in a large bady shop and those Festool vacuum systems are a game changer. Keeps my bay so much cleaner, as well as my lungs. I have come to love that piece of equipment.
This man right here is an amazing teacher. I've learned alot if not everything right here from this channel. I just want to take the time to thank you Brian for taking time out your day to make videos to teach people like me. Your awesome man!
Well deserved Brian.. I really appreciate you sharing all that knowledge with all of us.. you gave me the knowledge and courage to dive into some deep projects as a complete amateur and persevere!.. I couldnt be more excited for part 2
Amazing! Can't wait to see how this comes out. One thing that would have saved you a ton of time and material is using epoxy resin brushed on after you hit it with 120. The epoxy would have been thick enough to fill the lows. From there you could have blocked the epoxy flat and clear coated and done! Excited to see this come out!
Great channel contents, from knowing nothing to being able to do some spray work on my own stuffs. Not yet professional grade results, but good enough compare to the past. Thanks!!!
Hi, I like your videos. I learned a lot from them. I have a tip for the Inflatable Paint Booth. I also used one, and after it's fully inflated, I change the blowers. The bigger one manages to remove the fumes better.
Big fan of both of you guys, it's good to see y'all get together. I'll be painting the Supra soon and have been absolutely binging your content, going from deep red to Plum Crazy is a hell of a project 🤙
Hell yeah! I’ve been watching tavarish since highschool 2018. Cool to see you both collaborate together. I’m new to painting but my father has been a painter all my life. I loved watching his last McLaren rebuild but was disappointed at the paint job. Didn’t get to see much of it getting painted.
Haha I met tavarish at shed fest I had no idea you had his car at the time and you guys knew each other I’d have given him something to bring back for you if I knew. You’ve taught me so much and my business is thriving!
Brian, what causes the waviness in the parts? I am going to assume (from watching Tavarish's video on how the parts were made) the following: A) The molds were block sanded and "perfect" prior to the lay-up of the carbon fiber; B) Absolute highest quality cloth and resin were used for the lay-ups; C) The parts were vacuum bagged and the molds were solid enough to not deflect under vacuum bagging pressure; and D) The parts were allowed to cure in the mold long enough to reach full strength prior to demolding. Yet even with all this careful work, the waviness occurs. Really looking for you input based on your experience on what you believe happens. Thanks.
Holy shit, congrats on getting enough traction to get on Tavarish's radar; I'm not the biggest fan of the guy but this speaks volumes to your success. Keep up the awesome content!
@@PaintSociety got an unrelated question for you if you’re willing to answer it actually. Is there anything special about grabber colors? I’m planning on painting a car grabber blue at some point and wasn’t sure if there was anything weird about them.
So this is what happens when two "Florida Man" collaborate. Wondering if you two were going to get together. Good stuff. Watching Brian and Tovarish for a few years now.
love the show been watching for ages . I am about to shoot cellulose paint on my classic mini. have you ever shot with cellulose ? would love to see that video
Why didn't you use transparent high build polyester primer before clear coating? some are made specially for carbon parts I use it all the time when painting carbon, also to prevent print through
If you use Mipa P67S Spray polyester for carbon fibre then Mipa Carbonic Clear, that will get it pin staright, i used it on my GR Yaris Forged carbon roof and that was covered in ripples now its straight as a arrow
i enjoy watching and learning different tips and things i just made from your channel. i just made a big mistake I accidentally mix 2k high build hardner in epoxy primmer,. any advice. i just spent all last week stripping the car to bair metal and made this mistake.
Have you ever set the pressure on a spray gun that is outside the recommended pressure settings stated in the data sheet? Is there ever a time when it should be done? I'm just trying to get a baseline to start with. Thanks!
Just out of curiosity, what kind of clearcoat is that... seems to be an odd brand for such an expensive project. I was specting some acrylic urethane clearcoat like superior 250 from sikkens...
Its just for build. We will repeat this process 3-4 times and the final coats will get the good stuff. I think actually next time will be sikkens because the front cap will only need one more coating most likely
I think you guys should have use the same clearcoat throughout the entire process in order to ensure the quality of the job... if the cheap clearcoat fails then the good stuff comes with it...
I have no idea what a piece like that would cost but I'm betting a lot! If those surfaces are the result of additional coats of epoxy after molding then it may be understandable. If it comes out of the mold that way, the tooling needs to be redone!
Problem with carbon that big is it is very flexible, just a little bit of pressure will distort the guide coat. Also not being attached dto the body will distort the part.
So, honestly, how did you like spraying in that inflatable paint booth? In my 30 plus years, I've sprayed in all kinds of investments, so I just bought one of these booths, and still kinda have some doubts. On the other hand, wet sanding and buffing do always come in handy in some situations. I don't expect it to be great, but is is adequate for an occasional job?

Polyurethane sanding sealer for timber and polyester, mirotone sell it, perfect for carbon, allows you to fill and block flat then topcoat.

@deltacharlieecho4732 not 100% to be honest but if its straight up base and clear then it should be straight forward.

Hello,
Where are you guys located and how did you start in the industry?
Thanks for your time!
How many TH-cam channels has Tavarish inadvertently launched??
What brand of clear coat did you guys use and how many coats of clear were needed?
3 coats and we will need to sand down and do another 3

Can u put pearl or kandy over Carbon Fiber and clear it

P1 CLEANER than your CHURCH SHOES AHA😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Lots of work! Coming along nicely! What RC car was that? That was cool with the doors opening up
not sure the brand, I gotta ask Jack but it as a rep of what we are working on
I need one 😍
What went flat? The P1 or the tent??
I have no idea what a piece like that would cost but I'm betting a lot! If those surfaces are the result of additional coats of epoxy after molding then it may be understandable. If it comes out of the mold that way, the tooling needs to be redone!

Hello, where can i find that spray boot for purchase.
description i have links
I would really enjoy rubbing that down ,I love rubbing down filler and trying to get it as straight as I can
I need a p1 medium t shirt
Hopefully another cut with 320 then 400 and candy over the carbon??
candy in the future yes but not even close yet
Please can someone help me ...can you spray primer without sanding the surface that have been primerd before months
I’d personally sand that’s just me though
Another Bluetooth car coming to sema this year!!!
Everyone seems to be able to make videos about the P1. I wonder why Tavarish doesn't.
What brand is that block at 2:32

A lot of overspray, but it gets a job done but always expect to wet sand Bluff
@PaintSociety that's what I had figured. I did by the optional extractor unit, so hopefully that cuts down on the over spray. Thank for the fas reply.
@@GorillasGuns the extractor helps after you spray. It cant keep up as you spray though
How do you not get clear coat in your eyes...???
I close my eyes when I paint. Like bloodsport movie
Sand and repaint. Sand and repaint. Those low spots will eventually level out.
