Cave Run Lake and Licking River Fishing with Scott's Bass Boat

- This weekend I went to Cave Run Lake in Kentucky to practice for the annual Friends of Cave Run Memorial Bass Tournament that I have fished for the last 3 years with my buddy, Scott, and his bass boat. We zoomed all over the lake and up the Licking River trying to put together a pattern and figure out what the bass were up to, but never really found anything. We caught a lot of small bass, but Cave Run has a protected slot limit of 13"-16" for largemouth bass, so for the tournament we were allowed 2 "under" largemouth between 10" and under the 13" line, and then the rest had to be "overs" meaning 16" or longer, which makes finding keeper bass really tough on that lake! We had a brief topwater bite in the morning (Megabass Dog-X Diamante), but most of the fish came on finesse soft plastics, either weightless or light weighted hooks. It was a beautiful day, and Cave Run is such a gorgeous lake, so wild and undeveloped on the shoreline, but wow it gets busy with the pleasure boaters! I was really happy Scott was the one driving and dealing with the crazy waves/wakes coming from every direction at once! I'll figure the bass out in this lake someday!

Thanks! Last time I took the GoPro Max out, I had the settings wrong and got nothing recorded. So I needed to use it again to make sure I had the settings right now. It isn't my favorite because I can't get the quality up beyond slightly blurry, but to be able to swing the shot around is sometimes worth lower resolution!
@@GirlGoneFishing hmm, didn't notice it being blurry. Was a thing in the fpv community foe a little while, then people switched to the Insta360 series cams. Maybe same story w them. I never tried the Max. Anyway, the footage added to the vid... I'd think about a mic though. Just my 2¢, Your vids are good as is. Keep posting!

Thanks, but as it happens, we couldn't find any bass over the 13-16" slot limit. But we tried hard and had fun fishing as a team on a gorgeous day at a beautiful lake, and that is really what matters!
