I don’t think any other channel I’ve seen has really taken the time to go over the types of grass and how to fish them, and what about bass biology affects their behavior regarding grass. Top tier fishing video
And they use graphics and maps and stuff to show you real life instances that really help me understand what they are talking about .glad I've found this channel
I really prefer these more lecture-like vids. Everyone has a vids of them sitting in their boat talking to you but you were the best one to present information like this!
As 90% of the lakes near my home are heavily over grown with weeds and pad fields I have been searching for videos on how to fish such vegitation as effectively as I can especially from shore as I do not own a boat. This was the only video I have seen of the dozens I watched that explained what different types of grass/weeds are in lakes how to correctly identify them and how best to fish them. You are to be commended on producing the absolute best most informative video on how to fish grass to maximize your chances to catch bass I have ever seen and I've watched more than I can recall. Why I enjoy your videos so much and purposely seek them out is your videos are always 80% or more helpful information and little time trying to sell things. You are a true educator of how to become a better more successful fisherman Please keep putting out as good of content on fishing as there is out there.
Tyler- Gotta say dude, I've been fishing most of my life, and this video is one for the archives! I've never seen a more organized, comprehensive and well presented seminar on grass types, regional prevalence, bass positioning, etc. It's all the things we collect over time being out on the water, but you filled in so much more info than "hands on". Thanx from all of us who might have been as impressed with this presentation as I was!
Great video. I fish up at Goose Pond on lake guntersville and eel grass is out of control. Buzz baits at night catch alot more grass than fish. I use mostly scum frogs to negate picking off my lures. Back in the 80s it was hydrilla that was talked about mostly. But all in all grass equals bass so we just have to adapt. Thanks again for the informative video. We'll done for sure.
Nice video would like to know more about how to fish these extensive grass patches from the bank, every lure recommended just ends up a handful of weeds every time I cast!
My friend and I were fishing a creek in NW PA. We came to an area about 3 ft. deep and I could see eelgrass (I think) and a channel running through it. I saw a bass laying on the edge of the channel and I had my friend cast passed it. He was using a perch colored Rapala and I was able to watch him reel it and guide his cadence. It was an awesome sight to see when the bass came out of the grass and hit his lure. He landed it and it was around 2lbs. Thanks for making this video it was very informative
This is a life safer! I am fishing a tournament in August in the weediest lake I have ever seen. FULL of milfoil. Spent all day yesterday on that lake and got skunked. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to get out there and put it to the test
Buddy.... This is one of the most informative breakdowns in the TH-cam bass community. I've been studying bass fishing for just over a year now.. religiously.. I'm talking over a thousand hours easily.. And this is hands down one of the fullest breakdowns I've found. It's better than anything Bass U has on grass, and without the sales pitch. This would have saved me hours when I was first getting started. Unreal job, man. For real.
This was a great video. The graphics really made the information you were presenting much easier to digest. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I'm adding it to my favorites.
The amount of knowledge you share is second to none! Thank you for the content. Definitely going to be studying your content and take it to the water to practice and win some local tourneys!
Awesome video with tons of information in a well laid out and explained format. A lot of work went into this production with pictures and full explanations. Well done sir! I smashed that button..
Just found this channel, been watching Fish The Moment with Jonny and Randy, now this as well for bass, Tom Boley for eyes. Very few deep and concise youtubers I fell in love with that are practical in techniques and mechanics! Keep it up!
very helpful video. Thank you so much for putting the time into this. I just subbed and definitely looking forward to part 2 because I Kayak fish a lot of smaller lakes in central Florida where we we have a lot of spatterdock lily for example and it's been a challenge to fish that for me but I know they're up under it. One thing that would be really helpful (to me) is to show some real world examples of how to get the various lures into these vegetations and avoid getting a hook full of junk. You mention a squarebill for grass. I can see a nightmare throwing that into hydrilla for example.
As a Oneida Lake local, I LOVE grass fishing. Even most bank fishing around here is action packed with grass. I have fished grass most of my life, but I still learned a few things here..These tips are on point!
Now that’s what I’m talking about someone who will give you the information how to catch this great fish thanks again and I always watch your videos Tom Buffalo
Information, as always, super helpful. The intro, however, had me feeling like I was listening to a Dr Suess audiobook 🤣🤣 “you are now tuned in to the bass grass masterclass!”
Excellent video & very informative. I really appreciate learning more about grass as my "home lake" here in PA is an "all grass" lake. Looking forward to part 2!
The best grass video I have watched! Thanks! The South African bass are not much different when it comes to the rules you have posted here, so this was a great confirmation that I'm doing the right stuff!😅
Can't thank you enough for this Video!!! There is a lake in my county that is lined with Milfoil and I was sort of confused on how to fish it. Watch this video, went out a nailed 2, 3#ers Big thumbs up!!
Outstanding!! Your videos are amazing and so easy for me to comprehend as a new bass angler!!! , please keep the content coming. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!!!!
Phenomenal information! I fish Santee Cooper and it’s full of grass and cypress trees. We have a canal that runs off the Lake Moultrie dam and into Cooper River. Cooper River is full of hydrilla with lots of rice fields. Nutrients flow from Santee Cooper and keep Cooper River healthy. With all the hydrilla, the place is loaded with dunks. Decades ago, I had the opportunity for double digits in Cooper River. Today, it’s a struggle to locate any giants. I’m trying to learn different big fish techniques and a better understanding of hydrilla. I don’t know if the giants are gone or hiding under the massive hydrilla mats. Keep the info coming!
Great video thanks, For me the step by step helps me write it down and keep going over it. Now I know what the green stuff is covering half our lake in N.idaho.
What an AWESOME video! Your teaching skills are only out matched by your AWESOME fishing skills! This learning video was such a pleasure to watch and ULTRA INFORMATIVE. Seriously, you are a very gifted teacher for your craft. Thank you for sharing! I'll be looking at all those conditions somewhat differently and with a far better understanding of the when, where, why and how!
a great video. I have had some luck fishing coontail in mississippi with a home made lure made of a light weight rooster tail and cutting off the hook and then adding a swim bait hook with what ever the clarity of water call for. it really comes through it very well and fish kill it on the strike
@@BassFishingHQ make you one and try it out and let me know. i don't think that you will be disappointed. a 3/8 rooster tail in a good place to start, add flash like a spinner bait but comes through the coon tail better
Excellent information really appreciate the detail especially where I fish, Lake Okeechobee with all types of grass. A lot of thought and research went into your video. Thank you
Ty just seen this video it is awesome give perspective to everything that we actually have to think about . I personally hate eel grass especially at guntersville where I didn't even weigh one lol the one I caught on a shake head measured in at 12 1/2 inches. That's okay because dale hollow is in two weeks for me can't wait
Alot of times when finally punching through grass or pads once you get through holding rod tip high tapping the top underneath portion to see if bass are just below pads sometimes bass will crush it. Letting it drop 2 to 3 seconds slightly raise rod tip drop again then slightly raise rod tip again imitating a creyfish a bass can crush it. Finally let punch rig hit the bottom. I've found starting at the top a few minutes then let punch rig drop 3 to 4 seconds then yoyo technique twice imitating a creyfish then finally the bottom works great. Yes you may work a patch for 5 to 10 minutes it's worth it. Works great in warm an hot weather.
I don’t think any other channel I’ve seen has really taken the time to go over the types of grass and how to fish them, and what about bass biology affects their behavior regarding grass. Top tier fishing video
Thanks so much man
Right? This is an AMAZING S tier fishing channel

He does a good job
