I know this song doesn't have the legacy of other Spiritualized songs and albums, but my now wife and I completely latched on to this and used it for our first dance song at our wedding last week and oh my gosh it will forever hold a special in our hearts. This feeling will last a lifetime. Our hearts are completely full. :')

Too contrived
Oh man, that video; starts off beautiful, but obscured by the new Spiritualized pill box, then when the pill box finally fades, and the song crescendos into part two, the darkness of this world is full on, unobscured. Beautiful song, beautifully done video, and like most of his work, painful in the midst of it. Or is it beautiful in the midst of all the pain?
I see it as revolutions, cycles in the world turning, the same creation and destruction day after day. Revolution like the record spinning, cycles of change and repetition.
@@track2now I'm not sure we come back from the second, destructive cycle. It is so hard to watch the polluted oceans, the rivers of blood from slaughter houses, the wars, the devestation of weather. While in the grand scheme of things, I'm sure nature, and all its beauty will win, but sadly, I'm not sure we will be around to see it... And yet, I'm lucky to live in area where we have natural beauty still, and we can turn on a tap to drink the water, and the air is not brown everyday, and we are not facing war, riots, or terrorism. Truly lucky for this, but not blind to what surrounds us and that this is not what others in the world face.

The pill packaging represents a medicated humanity hiding from the realities of our world with pleasant imagery. The pill packaging disappears when we're confronted with the horrible reality of our current world. At the end of the video we take our medication again as the packaging returns.The implication being that we're a highly medicated people who aren't equipped to deal with the reality.
To go a little further, the video is also obviously highlighting how technology has given us tremendous insight into our world. There isn't anything on earth that we are not aware of and haven't filmed obviously. From aerial drones to orbital satellites. And while we all enjoy many of the more beautiful imagery this technology has given us, we are still somehow ignoring the not so pleasant byproducts of our technology. There really is no excuse at this point. But instead of confronting this reality what do we do? We take pills and bury our eyes in the pretty stuff.

@@emmaglass5622 Well I was shacked-up in Thailand having - a difficult time - and I discovered The Bridge song which was not on any of their previous albums, but part of a thing called The Space Project. This new release is like a new mix of it, and yes I love it. But there's something a touch disingenuous about the video, considering the amount of plastic packaging they've promoted over the years - but hey, that's pop music.

I liked the original version, I liked the mood it set, and when I heard this version i wasn’t entirely sure what I felt about it.
But that chorus...it’s pure ecstasy, so simple, three chords or something, but it’s just bursting...it’s the best thing Jason’s done since Rated X. I’ve had “if you have a lonely heart too” ping ponging around my head for days now.
You make your peace with the bands you love as you both grow older - you understand they’re not going to make you feel the way they did when you first heard them. And that’s not necessarily their fault; things don’t hit with as much force as when you were sixteen. They can’t. But every now and then the artists you love send something your way that rearranges your personal universe, just like they did in the good old days; a song, or even just a chorus, that alters reality for three or four minutes, and does it so forcefully you’d swear you could hold the world in yr hand, set it spinning between your thumb and forefinger, and it makes you impossibly happy and sad at the same time, in a way that your younger self couldn’t imagine.
