    It is kind of incredible that materials and modifier chains can't just simply be saved as presets to a global folder.

    • @TutsByKai

      I hear that.

    • @karlosmartos4646
      @karlosmartos4646 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      yeah they should implement an internal preset browser, with a material preview so you can browse through either your own shader or shaders from other people, saving a simple shader is such a pain in the ass right now

      I guess that's the LINUX logic still being towed by Blender.

      You can save it by creating a fake material user (the shield icon)then save as startup.

    This is one aspect that they seriously need to redesign and make more intuitive and streamlined. Saving and loading materials this way is a massive interruption of workflow and should never be this complicated.

      There should literally just be a "Save Material?" button at the top... :D

      The addon Material Library VX (wich is not natively activated I wonder why) make you manage material easily.

  • @TehBunnieh
    @TehBunnieh 4 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    You can also just append, go to materials folder and append the material, then you can find it in your scene material dropdown in the materials tab. This way you don't have to even do the grouping.
    You can also press Tab to go in and out of the group.
