- With Inside Out 2’s massive success will it communicate the wrong message to Disney and Pixar leadership? With sequels like Toy Story 5 on the horizon will Pixar become a sequel mill for Disney only recycling their old IP like The Incredibles, Monsters Inc, or Finding Nemo?

Honestly had no idea of a lot of the behind the scenes stuff you mentioned, but personally, while I’ve always felt relatively positive about Pixar sequels and have wanted universes explored more, I also really appreciate latching onto something for a brief time and letting it be.
I’d love to see a mixture of sequels and originals, but I much prefer sequels that seem to have a purpose, or at least be something that seems to be born from passion as opposed to cash
Super glad I decided to check out your channel, you bring up some really good points! Gets the brain thinking, and yes it definitely makes me concerned that this recent success might send the wrong message, but I believe that no matter what, people in this industry will always have that internal desire to not just pump out any random story that makes money but their OWN story. Something that they themselves can resonate with on a personal level and feel proud of. That’s something I don’t think any good rating can diminish, and it gives me hope.

And I agree with you, at the end of the day I think even if Pixar does start making more sequels then usual that there will be value in them. Most of their sequels when I think back are arguably better then their first entries; Cars 3 is better than 2 and 1, Toy Story 3 is better than 2 and 1, and I liked Inside out 2 more then I liked the first one. At the end of the day there are very few Pixar movies that I straight up don't like. I just hope that they keep experimenting and propping up the next generation of story tellers as well!

Do I think Pixar's ruined? No. Do I think Pixar's changed? Yes. It's gonna take a lot of adjusting for me to get used to this new Pixar, but as I learned from DreamWorks movies nowadays, I shouldn't get overhyped that Pixar makes a bad movie. If they make a good, or bad, or mid movie, then I wouldn't care if it ruins, or saved the studio. I would just express my thoughts on what the movie is, rather then saying it saves the studio or damages the studio.
