Attenuators have come a long ways. That one you have , since it's a Weber, I wouldn't hesitate to use at all. Very handy. I knew of a guy in the 80's that used a Power Soak(Scholtz). Non master Fender amps were cheap then. He would use like a Bassman headm the Power Soak, and it sounded raw and wonderful. Unfortunately, sooner or later the amp would burn out, and he would buy another one. But he had the best rock tone in town.

Nice one John.. Cheers. Useful information. Been using the Bugera power soak PS1 myself for silent recording with tube amp... 😎

Nice video mate. Just curious, does the attenuation affect the Line Out volume? I'm wanting to have my amp connected to this and into my cab for on stage, but then the Line Out running through some IR's and into the PA for gigs, so we don't have to mess around with micing up my cab, etc. If I decide to turn up/down my amp mid-set with the attenuator, will that also adjust the Line Out volume and affect the volume of my guitar in the PA? Or does that remain constant?

      Euan Hamilton Hello mate, cheers!
As far as I’m aware the attenuation will only effect the volume output to the speaker, as the line out simple takes the signal and throws it out to a pa as you say, that having been said, I don’t want to tell you 100% that that’s the case, because I’m not 100% sure. My knee jerk reaction is no it doesn’t, but I would pop onto Weber’s Instagram/Facebook and ask the question mate, then it’s from
The horses mouth. Have you been on there FAQ on the website also? I’d try it and let you know but I ended up getting a Twonotes captor and selling the Weber, I would suggest having a look at them, the fixed -20db doesn’t sound ideal at first, but it keeps all the clarity and in a sweet spot for you to actually use the amp volume, and the line out on that has a specific signal control. Clear as mud eh lol
