Question, can’t you do the exact same thing with the pod hd 500x, editing those 4 switch locations. I think both are great same. Coukd be wrong. I love using my helix floor with my 2 DT 50s
I’m pretty impressed with your software. I’m an Apple user but I pulled out an older Windows 10 laptop and had a blast, I’m assuming you can use a programmable midi foot pedal like the line 6 FBV 3 to control your edit.
@@MarkSchuster-ym3iy hi mate, I’m unsure on different pieces of equipment but generally yes most midi control devices should adjust parameters. Its worth pointing out again that this isn’t my own software, just something I found that I was totally into and thought would do a video to help others! Glad you had fun, it’s extremely useful! Keep rocking dude! 😃👌
There is both usb and midi audio
Talk to much
I love this company, i have 3 pedals, they're so great.... I think the control names do make sense.... they're just imaginative... toast is obvious, thick is obvious, beans, give it some beans...... hp thick sauce.... ok I'm demented
How did you wire things so position #4 is bridge and neck?
For DT 25/50 amp owners, the DT Edit software does provide access to some "under the hood" amp controls such as reverbs, as well as a convenient, desktop editing experience. HOWEVER- you will not be able to save your DT Edit settings as any kind of preset; once any settings are changed, the previous configuration is lost. You could always pair your DT amp with the HD 500, and access presets there. But at this point, you would not even need DT Edit, as Line 6 has their own editing software for use with the HD 500. In short, DT Edit is a bit of a false promise; a missed opportunity.
I just am now discovering your video! This is excellent! I hope that the software is still available! I am curious if I’m able to also turn off the cab sims & just run frfr? Also did you do any firmware updates to your amp? I was reading where the dt25 & dt50 have updates that can be applied but I’ve never seen any to download.
Hey mate thank you! So I’m pretty sure you can turn them off, the software should definitely still be knocking around the internet somewhere if not on the link on the video! I never updated the firmware on the amp, but the line 6 website will undoubtedly have any updates on their support section 🙂👌
Way too much talking....not enough playing. I here to hear the pickups not your feelings about the pickups.
Well, I did it for free so if you don’t like it, feel free to go and find something you do like 😃
Anyone know if this software is available for Mac?
Sadly I don’t believe it is, however with a windows desktop program for Mac like Parallel you can run any windows program 🙂👌
Get some Gibson Top Hat knobs gold then bend the tremolo arm out a bit.
They’re differences between Mexican and USA made Fenders not only in quality but most importantly in the guitars value! That Mexican made Strat isn’t worth what you paid for it the moment you bring it home yet the American made one not only retains its value it will increase over time! You buy a Mexican Fender or even worse a Squire when you’re not serious and it will either end up in a pawn shop or the dump at some point, you buy an American Fender when you’re serious and it will be with you the rest of your life!
Nice and very informative video. However, I'd try to turn off the cab simulation (if you use the amp speaker itself). Thanks!
Shut up and play!!
Funny as Hell and a good run through of the settings. You may not be an expert, but couldn't tell watching you play, great little screwing around licks. I played guitar for 14 years, didn't for 14 years, and started back up again 2 years ago. This Scran Pedal has been by far the best drive pedal I've found in the whole two years. I could be wrong, but I think this pedal serves best as the first pedal in your dirt chain. Just dialing it back a bunch and playing it just about clean makes my Orange 35RT practice amp sound a million times better. And it really sharpens out thicker drives after it nicely. My favorite pedal.
Thanks bro 😃👌
Your video style/attitude and this pedal company's philosophy are a match made in heaven. I haven't seen other reviews for this pedal company (yet), but I can't see anyone doing a better demo. And this pedal is criminally under-priced.
Aw mate, that made my day reading that! Thanks buddy! 😃👌
10000% agree (no joke) ;+)
What episode is this??
Lol, if you don’t know you haven’t binge watched enough! 😂 Enjoy! 😃👌
Last ep maybe

So would you just run the midi out to the PC via the cable?
Yep spot on, the USB to midi sorts all that out, some interfaces have midi on them already so worth checking, but the cables are pretty cheap and it’s well worth doing 😃👌
What you can do with the middle pushpull pot is do a paralell series switch
I already own an HD500x and have the Line 6 Edit program. Is this offering moreso for people who don't have an HD product?
Hey man! Thanks for watching! I believe that having the amp without the board doesn’t allow for all the many amp types, you’re locked into it a little, so yes, this is definitely more useful for people who don’t have the board, however with midi and options comes… more options 😂👌👍🏼
Anyone knows if this piece of software is working with the new Mac M1 chip?
Hi! Thanks for watching 🙂 I don’t know if this was available for Mac, that said if it was then the Rosetta 2 software would translate for M1, but I would almost guarantee there won’t be a native version, this was made as freeware by a talented kind person and not as line 6 official software.
so touching for an excellent video
Amazing tone.
Thanks mate! Cheers for watching 👊😃👌
Love my DT50 2X12 and would like to see more videos that arent 10 years old. Thank's for yours
Aw bless you man thanks! They are incredible amplifiers (if a little heavy 😂) that really never kind of took off, I put this down to people feeling it was an accessory to the “dream rig/ variax” rather than a fantastic stand alone amplifier. Just guessing of course! I hope you found something useful in it and thank you for watching 😃👌
Just got a DT50 2x12 last night (Jan24, 2022). So you are not alone. It's also amazing that the speakers can be used with other heads with a barrel adapter. Amazing amp on so many levels. Heavy!!! Lol. 😂
@@Explorer766 hella heavy. Lol. But so sooo many great sounds. Congrats on your new amp
@@Explorer766 it is SUPER HEAVY… I’ve often wondered if the chassis was made of tolex covered granite 😂
That’s not Brian lol
We’re still having the footage verified….. 🤣
Question. When using a pod HD500x with any DT amp and the l6 link the cab is automatically turned off in the pod. I didn’t realize the DT amp had any cab settings since when you are playing through speakers that’s taken care of. Is this for daw recording? Then it would make sense I suppose. I’ve just recently purchased a DT50 head, aDT 50 212, and since I can’t afford a helix yet, a mint pod HD500x. Individually the amp is easy to operate but there’s zillions of options when using the pod 500x and 2 amps. The L6 link control has 10 different audio and midi settings. Things I didn’t know. In standard pod operation only the channel A is used, if you turn off the pod amps then channel b is used. It then becomes all DT amp but with the pod fx. I have a lot more to learn. I love line 6 I’m also a luthier, when the Variax came out I built many custom guitars for the Variax electronics. So I’ve taken the time to learn each product I’ve purchased in depth. But I can see that this is clearly a niech product, I have a friend who’s played guitar for decades as I have and he says too complicated. That’s funny because his pedal board must have cost him thousands and it doesn’t come near to the pods fx .
Hi mark, thanks for watching 👌 I don’t have a HD 500 as only ever used this for DAW recording. I would imagine that the reason it turns off the cab when using the amp is that both the POD and the amp have the same cabinet models into the FRFR speaker cab, and since the amp already has the effect in the processor it would be logical to me that the POD cab sims are turned off to save DSP on the floor unit, I’m also not aware that the cab sims can be turned off on the amp at all, whereas they can on the POD and there would be little to no point or need in running two cab sims. This is just my musings however and perhaps not correct, but it would make sense. I hope you enjoy your new toys! 😃👌
Hahah, love it mate. The Early narrative had me laughing...in agreement. Great pedal though, loving mine
Lol ITS ALL CONFUSING!!!! 😂 Glad it made you giggle man, it’s a lot more fun just doing it on the iPad and not putting loads of effort in as well.. someone might find it useful. A blind person or somat that can’t read the website lol
That video was amazing!! Rocked my world!! OMG!! Can I buy your used pants?? X
I know, was the dogs weren’t it. My pants are for sale on Instagram.
I just picked up a secondhand DT25 yesterday and LOVE it so far, although I'm not sure how to connect it to a PC to check/update firmware since there is no USB. Can you/anyone help with this? Thanks!
Hey man, glad you’re enjoying it, it’s a great amp! You’ll need a midi to usb lead, Amazon do them for about a tenner, once you’ve connected that to your pc the DT edit software will pick it up 👌🤘🏼
You need the usb to midi converter cable…I had to get one as well. Cost me $30 in Australia
Noice!!
Yeeeeahhh booooiiiiii!
What amp have you used in this video?
Hey man! A Line 6 DT25 👌👊
Great sound!
JayF Official aw thanks man! 😃👌
This has been very useful and I have been using the app...the only problem Im having with the app is the reverb on the top just makes bizarre sounds but the bottom one is fine/ I have uninstalled and re installed the app but the same thing is happening.
I honestly have no idea why that would be happening mate, I would maybe try a different usb to midi cable first off?
@@StompSlaps I bought the 2 to one midi cables...maybe I should just have one goof them plugged in?
I have the two midis that go to one USB into the pc
Tiny Tim not all of these cables are born equal mate, I’m going to guess you picked up one off eBay or Amazon and got not the cheapest one you could find, but the second cheapest lol.. these things happen. Try a different midi to usb cable.
@@StompSlaps I hit new ones at Jcar...I think the were about 30 ish
Also any particular type of Midi Foot controller. Would this work??www.tech21nyc.com/products/effects/midi-mouse/
That would give you some basic functionality, however I think you’d be going back for a larger item with more choices to do more with the amp. 👍🏼
@@StompSlaps Thank you. Any recommendations??
Leslie Paul Farkas behringer do a large floor board but honestly at this point you’d be wiser to look for a HD500 floor boards, can be had pretty cheap these days and then you have all of it available and ready to go as they were made to be used together
@@LesliePaulFarkas I have made a foot midi controller specifically for the Line6 DT25. Should work on DT50 also. I would happily send pictures or a video of it if anyone is interested in alternatives for the HD500. I might be wrong but my understanding is that you cannot shut off the mic emulations while using the pod hd500 with the DT25 and it makes it so that the amp doesn't sound like a tubeamp anymore?
@@tonyojala4159 Hey Tony, i am super interessted in how you setup the midicontroller. Is there any change you can send me the stuff, or upload it somewhere?
Very interesting....I used to have a HD 500x board....this solves that problem now that I no longer have that board. You stated one needs , to connect, a USB to Midi lead. Any particular specs?? Thank you for sharing this with us.
Hey! Thanks so much I’m glad you found it useful, that was the aim so good to know people are getting something from it! I literally bought a cheap, no name usb to midi interface cable, works like a charm 👌 With regard to your midi question, there is a place you need to visit and discuss this as per your needs and requirements, these guys are badass 💥 facebook.com/groups/MIDIMadScientists/?ref=share Thanks for watching man 😃
Im interested in the S1 switching and want these pups - this is my ideal design - did you manage to do it?
Hi! Thanks for watching! to be honest I’d probably change them to push push pots rather than S1 as they fail far too regularly for me to bother with, but push push would be the way to go 😃👍🏼
@@StompSlaps no problem. I heard this as well.
Samuel Cramphorn Yeah it was after making this I had a guitar building buddy tell me not to do as the buttons crap out pretty easily apparently, and let’s be fair, who wants to take a guitar fully apart more than once lol
Maybe consider a push-push pot for the split.
Andrew Hayes this is exactly the plan lol, been meaning to get round to that for quite some time now lol
Unless you desperately want one-third of the available tones of the Strat I can't understand why anyone would pick a model with the 3-way switch
Andrew Hayes I’ve wondered the very same thing myself to be honest, the other complete mystery is why you wouldn’t have a tone knob connected to the bridge pickup.... 😂👍🏼 thanks for watching! 😃👍🏼
Nice video mate. Just curious, does the attenuation affect the Line Out volume? I'm wanting to have my amp connected to this and into my cab for on stage, but then the Line Out running through some IR's and into the PA for gigs, so we don't have to mess around with micing up my cab, etc. If I decide to turn up/down my amp mid-set with the attenuator, will that also adjust the Line Out volume and affect the volume of my guitar in the PA? Or does that remain constant?
Euan Hamilton Hello mate, cheers! As far as I’m aware the attenuation will only effect the volume output to the speaker, as the line out simple takes the signal and throws it out to a pa as you say, that having been said, I don’t want to tell you 100% that that’s the case, because I’m not 100% sure. My knee jerk reaction is no it doesn’t, but I would pop onto Weber’s Instagram/Facebook and ask the question mate, then it’s from The horses mouth. Have you been on there FAQ on the website also? I’d try it and let you know but I ended up getting a Twonotes captor and selling the Weber, I would suggest having a look at them, the fixed -20db doesn’t sound ideal at first, but it keeps all the clarity and in a sweet spot for you to actually use the amp volume, and the line out on that has a specific signal control. Clear as mud eh lol
does it work?
unabonger777 lol, yes it does 🤣 cheers for watching
Cheers for this just looking into putting these into my cp 50s strat
Hey dude! Did you find the problem with volume dropping out higher up on the bottom two strings? Since doing that video I put another strat together and bought a set of tonerider classic blues (Texas specials basically) single coils into it and it’s my favourite sounding guitar by a long shot, knowing what I know now if I could go back I would but the toneriders in the CP50, the seymours are great etc, but for £60-70 from Amazon I would definitely go that route. It’s all subjective of course, but I’d be amazed to see anyone disappointed with the TR’s. Just something to think about dude 🙌🏼✌🏼👍🏼, thanks for watching 😃👍🏼
Dunlop 65, tasty shit
Nice Video. Just Ordered one. lets see how it is.
You won’t be disappointed... mine sits in amongst custom made high end stuff, Thorpy pedals and a L6 stomp and isn’t going anywhere.. it’s brilliant 👌
@@StompSlaps than it's good for shure 😀.. also ordered an xtomp mini by Hotone
Jorge Tomé Yeah absolutely, when it first arrived it felt cheap, like the wholes that’s were punched through the casing weren’t particularly tidy but only very minor things, but I think I paid £19 so to my huge surprise when plugging it in.. Do let me know if you like it, I would be amazed if you didn’t! I’ve not tried any Hotone pedals but my friend has a switcher and it was great... no issues at all 👍🏼👌
This or the Angry Charlie v3?
Hey man! Honestly and this is a crap unhelpful answer, it’s subjective 😂 I love the JHS angry Charlie but I love this too.. I would say if you wanted something that covers both bases maybe have a look at the Thorpy Warthog too 🙂
@@StompSlaps thanks you

It’s a lovely little box of joy, thanks for watching man 🙂👍🏼
I have an HSS guitar and thinking about putting these pickups, what's the best full-size humbucker equivalent to the JB.Jr? Does a regular JB Trembucker will match in terms of tonal EQ and output? Or is there any other options?
@@StompSlaps very niice.. Okay, I'm gonne give it a shot... Thank you very much for the info. Time to go for pickup hunting. . Wish me luck!
there's the JB SH-4 full size
The JB Jr. and the full-sized JB (both the SH-4 (normal humbucker) and TB-4 (trembucker) should sound pretty much the same.

What’s different to the V1?
So sorry I didn’t see this sooner, the difference is size. These are a lot closer to the size of a boss pedal where the originals are like 2/3s of a cry baby wah lol
