Wow! I never thought this was a thing. Years ago I made loads of these, without actually gluing the earring backing to the pin. I gave many away as gifts. Some only had a couple beads on and made great pins to put on a blouse or jacket. I used the round pearl head like your and the tear drop pear, plus also found some lovely ''diamond'' (acrylic) headpins

Yes these are absolutely a thing especially in the junk journaling world! I absolutely loved making these stick pins. Ive used then in cards, frames and fabric garlands. I still have a few left. Great way to use up your beads too. The diamanté topped ones are my favourite pins to use

Julie Hughes thanks Julie. They aren’t fancy but I just wanted to show everyone what you can make quickly with basic, cheap supplies

Lovely stick pin Lisa. I haven’t made any in eons I need to get my beads out and play. The very last one you put on. Is that an earring back to hold them all? Loved the glimpse of your bead box.

nwlady1949 hi Patti, yes it’s a vintage earring back (all sterilised of course 😅). I got about 90% of my beads from the charity shop! I love the shimmering ones and wish I had more! I’m having trouble finding a variety of stick pins. Can only seem to find pearl ones!

Simple but so pretty! Thanks for the tutorial. I have a lot of beads I just need the pins. What is the length of the pin? It looks about 2 inches maybe. The earring back to hold it all is so cleaver. I didn't notice that before. Congratulations on another grandchild. You must be a young grandma. Have a lovely day/night!

LizzieSnowBrite hi! I think the pin is about 3 inches long. But any length would do. Thanks for your kind wishes, I was 50 a couple of weeks ago!

Ooh so pretty Lisa, glad to see you've let the obsession take hold😂 I was at the charity shop (not yours, don't panic) on Monday and there was a pile of old necklaces all wound together and there was a wee charm in it I really liked, while trying to unpick it a nice volunteer walked over and said "aye good luck wi at hen" 😂😂😂 so I said I'm getting to the point of buying the whole lot and picking it apart with pliers at home🙄 so she gave me the bundle for £1, stopped short of hugging her🤗 Now I just need stick pins and earring backs which probably won't be a £1😖 Hope you had a wonderful birthday and many congratulations on your grand baby news xxx

Caroline Mckeeman 😂😂😂 glad to hear you’re not visiting my shop 😂😂😂 but I think I need to visit yours! Wow that s great buy. I’m going to pay the charity shop a visit today. On eBay you can buy stick pins with a back on. They have a flat head on them so you can thread any colour bead on the top. They are about 2 inches long. If you type in ‘hijab pin blanks’ you’ll find them!

That's it Lisa you just get me into trouble for buying extra crafting supplies, I'm gonna tell my husband it was you that suggested it😂 I'm also gonna stand guard at my charity shop and not let anyone in that looks like a crafter😏 I'm going to go and look (just look) at stick pins, I will not press add to cart😂 Enjoy your charity shop browse and if you get goodies you need to do a video and make us all jealous 😂

Caroline Mckeeman Caroline, you can’t get into trouble if it’s a bargain 😂😂😂. That’s why I’ve moved on to the charity shops. ❤️

Lisa think it’s the quantity that’s an issue, I always seem to be in trouble 🤨

Caroline Mckeeman my hubby once asked me ‘why do you have to clear out your craft room so much?’ I’m sitting there thinking🤔 ‘because I keep buying supplies’. We are all hopeless cases! 😂

I would like to know where you purchased the top pieces of jewelry thats on the cover photo. Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi Tamika, most of them were connected to the stick pins (such as the large clear glass ones). I bought them on eBay. I think they were caked hat pins or corsage pins. The remainder were just beads I had. There’s a metal stopper at the top to stop the beads coming off

@@lisaowen2930 I’ve just bought some on Amazon, they also have end caps, which enable you to stick the pin into a lapel, as a broach, then place the end cap on.
