@@svetlanaandrasova6086 not even close to that simple. They’re focused on making some sort of high minded message. Next time u want to make stupid arguments, dont try to avoid criticism by dropping the fact that ur black. Thats essentially what half of people claiming the same things u do are saying about marvel.
I loved the MCU. Seeing the heroes I grew up with turned into living, breathing characters who embodied what made them so special was nearly a miracle. That was then. This is now. The *only* MCU anything I’ve bothered to watch in the past year is Loki. And it’s on life support.
Marvel and Disney's desperation to still get us interested in the MCU is just pathetic and sad. Now they want to bring in Doom? Doom is one of the most intellectual character in comics and I am 100% sure that the MCU writers are too dumb to get him right. The MCU just needs to stop all production and shut down for a few years
Not helping Brie Larson's case is the fact that she was also in "Free Fire." The only thing worse than its being a piece of uninteresting dreck is its being an OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD piece of uninteresting dreck. And yes, I agree with you on Elizabeth Olsen.
Unfortunately, this is the era of the activist. The studios seem to think they are the answer to what people want. They have forgotten the cardinal rule of film making: to entertain. There is nothing entertaining about lectures. I spent years attending university and can say with absolute certainty that lectures are dull. They don't belong in entertainment. Also, activists are not heroes they are squeaky wheels that won't stop squeaking.
What part of END Game did Marvel not understand from their own title? When they said that was the end, and I watched it come to a satisfying end, I believed them. Too bad they didn't believe it themselves and broke the biggest and easiest rule in fame, always leave them wanting more. Staying past your welcome lights fires to bridges, and fire changes things forever.
I stopped at infinity war before they could go all timey wimey on me. The comics become silly the best move was probably to wait 5 years and then End game and then immediately reboot after that and yes I know I hate reboots but that's the comics.
After Endgame, Disney/Marvel should've ended the film series. Then after a couple of years, bring it back in a new creative ten year plan way and call it the Marvel Extended Cinematic Universe (MECU).
@@normadgarmez7026 That would have been a brilliant idea. Every farmer knows you have to let the soil rest once and a while. But then again, every pop musician knows, when you let go, there is rarely anything to grab back on to. Movies are somewhere in between those two points.
I'm sure you feel really smart with this idea and post, but it's just dumb as hell and you miss the whole point. If they made good movies after endgame and didn't pander to wokeness, no one would complain and everyone would continue watching, including you.
I am a woman and I couldnt care less About the MSheU. Problem is, that all these new characters who happen to be females, are jerks who use "old" male characters as stepstools, humiliate, insult and belittle them, and writers tell us they are so so much better than their male predecesors. So the questions come. If they are so superior, why do all men have to be turned into idiots next to them? Truly strong female character is able to stand even next to strong man (for example, nor Steve nor Sam had to be turned into idiots to hype Natasha) If they are so superior, why were they not introduced in phases 1 and 2? And why were these male heroes good enough, all these years,to make Marvel money?
She thinks she can do it because she's been rewarded for doing it. Blame Marvel Studios and Disney. P.S. I totally believe that *she believes* her rhetoric. P.P.S. The Marvels should bury her career for good. Fingers crossed.
It's that weird juxtaposition Larson and others like her have where they sanctimoniously deride others for their sins whilst engaging in them themselves that is so exasperating . . . they are trying to solve a problem by substituting in a different version of the same problem, or 'fixing' culture by erasing culture and replacing it with nothing.
Thanks for this NerdWord. I think the destruction of The MCU could be summarised as caused by these drivers: - did not stick to the source material of literally decades of great stories from the Comics. - Too much content and too fragmented across Film and Tv. when the MCU was 2 or 3 films per year, each was an Event and with busy lives, we could keep up with the story. - no overarching narrative. The Infinity Saga had an overarching and compelling narrative. The so called Multiverse Saga has nothing of the kind. Part of this is no compelling villain since Thanos. How tough can Kang be when we’ve seen him or a variant beaten twice already, one of these in a fist fight by D lister Ant Man. - Poor creative choices. C and D characters, such as Shang Chi, Agatha, and Echo, released before X Men and The Fantastic Four. Crazy. The No stakes Multiverse concept is the overarching bad creative choice. - Finally, identity politics at the expense of character development and story. A list characters degraded to prop up less compelling replacements. Thor degraded for Lady Thor. Hawkeye for Kate Bishop. Professor Hulk and Daredevil, for She Hulk. Dr Strange and Wanda, for America Chavez. Nick Fury, in Secret Wars. Loki for female Loki. The imminent failure of The Marvels is driven by all of the above, compounded by Brie Larson having low charisma and being highly unlikeable.
On a separate note, I am surprised that these producers are bringing up these taboo topics where they do not belong. These are comic book fantasy movies, not lectures on women's rights, feminism, and LGBTQ. It is supposed to be fun and entertaining! Please quit with the hidden agendas already!
But the cancer must spread. They just go around ruining one thing after another. It's their purpose in life. Marx is all about tear it down, not build it up. These "useful idiots", sever their name well.
The multiverse and time travel has pretty much made any story completely irrelevant. "Oh, Reed Richards died...in this universe." "Oh, Thanos killed off half the people in the universe...in this timeline."
Disney would not be in this mess if they'd had the sense to realize when their big tentpole franchise was supposed to END. Back in the early 2000s, New Line had the biggest franchise in the world for a few years with the 'Lord of the Rings' movies, but they had the good sense (at the time, anyway) to realize that the story had reached its conclusion, and to end it where it was designed to be ended. As a result, those films are still untouchable in most peoples' eyes. If Disney had just wrapped up the MCU with 'Endgame', it, too, would still be untouchable - but no, they got greedy, and now their miracle franchise is dying a slow, agonizing, bloated death. (And yes, relying on preening self-righteous divas like Larson does not help.)
Hearing a female who is thinking rationally and soundly is kind of unheard of lately. Thank you for this video. It’s all truthful and I hope the days of male bashing for the sake of female empowerment is in the past.
Good video! Thumbs up from me. I'll not be seeing the Marvel's movie, as I don't care to watch two Disney+ shows to get the full background around the new character being presented. Too much like homework, and I'm not spending needed cash for a Disney+ subscription.
I'm definitely not going to watch it, but mainly because I've not watched a single Marvel film since _Guardians of the Galaxy 2._ I've just tired of CG spectacle. I realised during the introductory sequence of GotG2 that it bored me, being so far outside of the realm of reality that my disbelief could no longer be suspended. It was a collage of colourful pixels nonsensically animated and none of it interested me. This is a matter of personal taste, of course, but whatever my reasons for my disinterest in the MCU, the result is the same: my dollars are spent elsewhere and are unlikely to return any time soon.
After the 3 gog Ive no real interest in marvel. Gog 3 was a one shot at best. Eternals was agonizing and I wouldnt care to see another movie made horribly
Love your videos, keep up the great work! I checked out after they destroyed Strange and Wanda in the same movie, my two favorite characters left after Endgame.
All she had to say was that she hoped for people to have seats at the table who have been underrepresented in the industry. “I hope everyone has a chance to use their voice to amplify projects that have special meaning to them.” That’s IT. The condescension in her voice when she made the crack about “I dont need a 40 year old white dude to tell ‘em about A Wrinkle In Time” sealed her fate. If you watch the full clip, she repeatedly says she doesn’t have white men, but everyone pulled THAT part of the clip to use against her because that clip displayed her to be unlikeable and bratty. It’s not what you say sometimes, but how you say it.
I was that guy who stayed through the end credits to get a glimpse of what was to come. My wife and I would mark on our calendars the day of release and we'd be there day one, giddy with excitement and anticipation. It was a welcome relief to escape the everyday and be transported into the fantastic worlds created by these passionate, amazing people. But slowly, the fantasticly entertaining aspect of these movies became watered down by forced gender swapping, race swapping and putting on a show with a social or political message at the fore at the expense of the well crafted and thought out source material. As they say, nothing lasts forever, and I'll always cherish the moment when Sam's "on your left" as the portals opened behind a broken but not beaten Captain America, brought actual cheers and clapping from the whole damn audience in the theatre and dare I say it, even a couple of happy tears from yours truly at the sheer emotion of the moment.
I love the energy coming from the Marvel "fans" these days. "They love to see a hero fall after building them up". I want to see that same energy when Deadpool 3 comes out.
Exactly what I've been thinking. So far in the name of character introductions, it's been an aimless direction. To be factual, whole multiverse is just something that happened in Loki and that's it. Thought Multiverse of madness was actually going to bring Multiverse concept into the Phase 4 but it felt like a Wanda Vision Episode featuring Dr. Strange. And they still haven't answered elephant in the room. The celestial that partially woke up in eternals in the ocean, there's no mention of it in the next movies nor shows. It is indeed a lack of direction.
Marvel completely abandoned eternals and Shang Shi. There the only marvel movies to ever (not including Hulk because Universal) not get a squeal or make an appearance again or even reference again in six movies. After both we had SM:NWH DS:MoM, Thor:L&T, BP:F, A&W:Q, Gotg3 and soon The Marvels which I am pretty sure they won't be reference or appearance neither. That not including TV shows where they also never reference or appear. That is so sad and telling how far the mcu has fallen.
When Bree was in United States of Tara and Community, she was likeable. A leeeetle up herself but mostly just kooky and awesome. In CapMar we kept hearing from Jude Law how emotional she is, but we never saw that. She was stoic and arrogant. The ONE time i liked her was when we see a flashback/memory of her at a pub with some friends. THAT is the person i wanted to see. A relatable human being. I wanted to see her struggle and have flaws. But she was just op the whole time.
Same reason why I can’t stand “Will & Grace.” Debora Messing’s politics are annoying and offensive. It’s too late for W&G and it’s too late for Disney Marvel.
The Boys has been out, they dropped Gen V, and they have Season 4 dropping next year. We’re not tired of superhero content. It just has to be done right. That’s all we’re asking. And I didn’t even know any of the characters in the show when I first watched it and now I’m invested, even in the characters from Gen V
Have you seen Scott Pilgrim vs the World? She is genuinely good in this (well she plays a narcissistic bitch so i guess it suits her character) but even in the behind the scenes looks she seems actually nice back then…i wonder what happend to her
As a huge marvel fan, I’m going to give them one final chance with this Marvels movie. They having Bri Len as the main actress has already set a sour taste in my mouth. She’s the only actress that triggers cringe for me but I’m willing to give her and Marvel one last chance
I really appreciate you’re Ernest way of laying these issues out. Others I listen to have a harshness and hateful tone that I can only take so much of so thanks!
Speaking of women they could have used for this movie, how about Daisy Johnson? Melinda May? Elena Rodrigez? Bobby Morse? Ah yes, Feige prefers to ignore Agents of SHIELD, even though those badass women deserved their spot in the "girl power" movie WAY more than these 3 do. I guess they will be ignored because they aren't woke enough. Because they never put men down to be awesome and actually had to work for where they got, actually had to earn it.
Marvel comics was my Star Wars, I use to take the money my Dad gave working with him doing carpentry and go to the grocery store or comic shop and collect Spiderman, X-Men and Wolverine comics. I'd grab a random issue of another comic just to see what's going on (anyone remember Sleepwalker) and loved the lore and universe. When they started getting political and branching into activism I was turned off to it. For the writers I understand their views are important to them, but that's what Twitter/X should be for, not shoe horned into the stories. I've since stopped watching anything Marvel, as a long time fan I'm disappointed they use these characters that I grew up loving and idolizing as a kind sound board to preach to people about what's right and wrong rather than keeping them as entertainment.
Liz Olsen is dope. Brie is a j--k. But Zegler takes the crown of being the most despised actress in the industry. I hate how women are being portrayed in media recently, tbh. Cold, overpowered, masculine. As a woman, I can never see myself in them. Asians artists are much more humble, hence why I support them wholeheartedly. I grew up loving the cartoons that adapted comics, I couldn't afford comics because they were so expensive in my country, but I still loved the cartoons. I have to say I used to love the mcu, but since about half the movies, I tuned out.
As a fan of cartoons and anime, I have to say one of my favorite things about the medium is the degree of separation between the actors/actresses and the characters they play. I can enjoy a character for the character, and not the entitled narcissist they are in real life. I can watch stuff like Batman TAS and conveniently forget Tara Strong is annoying as hell irl. When I saw Captain Marvel in Endgame, I was immediately reminded of how ugly the real Brie Larson's attitude is towards fans like me. It takes away from the escapism.
It’s quite poetic. The MARVEL cinematic universe might finally collapse financially by its own movie called THE MARVELS. And Disney, which released its first movie SNOW WHITE in 1937, might completely financially cancel itself by its own 2025 version of the same film. People are hungry for storytelling, not propaganda.
Frankly, I think it's because they have made the target audience comic book nerds instead of the general audience. The writing and stories don't effectively connect people to feel for the character in any way. Especially with the unfamiliar characters unknown to general audiences. Characters that were never part of mainstream culture. It also makes no sense to make movies with characters from other platforms and assume everyone watched other shows to be familiar with and invested in characters.
3:34 “For God’s sake, who named this woman?” We still don’t know why Captain Marvel is even called by that moniker in the movies! People just start calling her that with no in-universe explanation like most other superhero origin stories explain
I don’t want to be fed a bland, corporate Ted talk on what they think about activism in a movie, I want to be told an engaging story. No, a super corporate, preachy thing with no real storytelling depth about “empowering minorities” is not going to make me feel empowered as a black person. I’m just so tired. I just want a good story.
the soulless writing by committee doesn't help either, we end up with the same generic crap over and over again with only the packaging being different. All the characters have the same snarky "witty" dialogue regardless of the personality of the character, and all the action scenes are so clearly CGI and repetitive.
With Larson, it's just narcissism. The core problem is not that these people need attention and praise. The problem is that they know that fame in Hollywood is volatile. This plays right into the black vs. white thinking that narcissists often show: "if I am not the biggest star, then I am nothing." There is nothing in between. She is just over-compensating, because her whole MCU appearance has been a string of disappointments. She was once supposed to be the leader of the Avengers...
But she was a stone wall in that movie. She was barely in it. She butchered the main song by Metric and did a terrible cover. I hate the people like her version over Metric 's. Metric wrote it and some of Metric's vocals still remain in Brie's version.
@@lonestarrk9308 the end guitar solo is the payoff anyway. You just need to wait through Brie's vocals. That or listen to the original version by Metric, which is way better anyway.
Needless to say the MCU developed creative rots, where continuing the story line the same lacks the creativity that most people come to love in these movies. Like with Star Wars there are fans who love (The Phantom Menuse) and (Attacks of the Clones) more than (The Last Jedi) and (Rise of Skywalker) because Kathleen Kennedy creativity if you can call it that was completely different from George Lucas.
The writing has been shit since Civil War. Good will carried it to Endgame then people exited the honeymoon phase and realized Disney has been feeding them garbage for a decade.
I just feel bad for teyonah parris and that little girl playing the other marvel person. Teyonah has always been super respectful and professional, she has kept herself busy with consistent roles and Brie is pulling this whole movie down with her misery. Yea the writers were always going to ruin the movie, but people wouldn’t have known that until the first showings if Brie had a better attitude about things. If she hates her job so much why doesn’t she go do something else? Also I really need Disney to fire at least half their writing staff. Y’all are hacks and have no business writing such big budget productions. Go work on lifetime or for Tyler perry for awhile, you don’t belong in these writing rooms!
My two cents is that she and her team try to replicate Jennifer Lawrence, who can come off as snarky and arrogant to some, but in her case it seems as if Lawrence doesn't read a script, but being a version of herself (kinda like your remark about RDJ). Larson is a great actress, but holy moly, it feels as if she is spoon-fed lines that are supposed to make MARVEL seem relevant simply by addressing current popular topics.
Congratulations Disney in your desire to push the message of diversity you made numerous villains or at least villanous concepts amongst your audience. I hope your proud of yourself KK. and Bob Lie-Ger

Because I already knew. Not even mad anymore. More apathetic than than anything else. Life is too short there’s plenty of other things to do. I don’t really know who they make this stuff for anymore but I’m sure they will reap what they sow.
Brie's attitude bleeds into the character. It's partly the writing and directing but it's partly her. I mean I generally dont like Gal Gadot, but by comparison she was leagues ahead as Wonder Woman than Larson was as Captain Marvel, and they are essentially for skills go, they are the same character. Gadot's is warm, Bries is ice cold and unwatchable. She's like a girl you take on a date who gives you one word answers all night.

Things are so skewed and strange. Needlessly complicated too.
Exactly, I shouldn't have to do homework to watch a superhero movie

"Side characters from Wanda vision now have major film roles" U do know that wanda was a side character once too right? So was spiderman... do u think that they shouldn't have been given the spotlight? Also, what the hell does u being a black man have to do with this? u literally never made reference to anything else with respect to that comment. Actually I do know what it has to do with it. U want to gain some form of credibility by just saying ur black. "Oh he has faced opression so he must know what he's talking about". Thats why u did that.
Moon Knight, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, No Way Home, and WandaVision are good tho.
Heard Loki show was feminazi trash.
Marvel and Disney's desperation to still get us interested in the MCU is just pathetic and sad. Now they want to bring in Doom? Doom is one of the most intellectual character in comics and I am 100% sure that the MCU writers are too dumb to get him right. The MCU just needs to stop all production and shut down for a few years
I bet they will simply turn him into "powerful and evil"
Well they need Doom for Secret Wars
@lucgermain9310 I have absolutely no doubt they will do something like that. I cannot even support Marvel anymore at this point.

Truly strong female character is able to stand even next to strong man (for example, nor Steve nor Sam had to be turned into idiots to hype Natasha)
If they are so superior, why were they not introduced in phases 1 and 2?
And why were these male heroes good enough, all these years,to make Marvel money?
The most telling thing is seeing her costars when she talks during interviews. All of them look like they can’t wait to get away from her.
Her acting is all
One note: smug superiority
Emma Watson has a similar problem
The only thing I care about Marvel now is the schadenfreude I get when their projects fail massively. LOL
Winning an oscar doesn't mean anything anymore. It's about box ticking.
She thinks she can do it because she's been rewarded for doing it.
Blame Marvel Studios and Disney.
P.S. I totally believe that *she believes* her rhetoric.
P.P.S. The Marvels should bury her career for good. Fingers crossed.
The comic book/nerd culture was always open to everyone, to exclude any group of people goes against many of their fan beliefs.
No, I haven't even seen the Captain Marvel yet and don't plan on it.
I can not wait til the end of the M-She-U. It's been abysmal. I knew when it was announced it would be a disaster.
Thanks for this NerdWord. I think the destruction of The MCU could be summarised as caused by these drivers:
- did not stick to the source material of literally decades of great stories from the Comics.
"Hidden"? They're about as hidden as a firecracker blowing up in your face.
But the cancer must spread. They just go around ruining one thing after another. It's their purpose in life. Marx is all about tear it down, not build it up. These "useful idiots", sever their name well.

Ngl the more controversies about Brie Larson I see, the more I love and appreciate Elizabeth Olsen
I saw the trailer with a couple of friends at the theater and we all said we would have to be paid a lot of money to see that thing

She is not allowed to have an opinion on that. Act and stfu
I dont want to see a movie made poorly on purpose. The eternals was traumatic enough
Marvel completely abandoned eternals and Shang Shi. There the only marvel movies to ever (not including Hulk because Universal)
not get a squeal or make an appearance again or even reference again in six movies.
The mutant Rogue permanently steals Marvel's powers. It's canon. 'Nuff said.

I got an ad for the marvels when I clicked on this video and I started wheezing.

Why should we even care about the new characters? Most of them have no buildup whatsoever.
Mrs. Larson emits a very bad vibe that I don't dig at all. I wish her well on her future projects, but I definitely won't bother seeing them.

And no... I don't want to know about marvel anymore. Endgame was the end to me. That's for saying it straight
I'm on the team, looking forward to seeing what else you put out, subscribed 😎
I'm excited to watch The Marvels
Honestly I was pretty excited for the marvels. Mz marvel is one of my favorite marvel superheroes, and I really liked Monica Rambeau in WandaVision
Hi I just want to say I appreciate all of your videos, I love your style, and your brain. 😊
I don’t give a crap about her drama it doesn’t affect me so why care I just wanna see the movie and hopefully it’s ok !!!😁
Move over ‘That Star Wars Girl”……
Brie Larson has one rocking f***ing body though, I mean holy crap 😮😮
Frankly, I think it's because they have made the target audience comic book nerds instead of the general audience. The writing and stories don't effectively connect people to feel for the character in any way. Especially with the unfamiliar characters unknown to general audiences. Characters that were never part of mainstream culture. It also makes no sense to make movies with characters from other platforms and assume everyone watched other shows to be familiar with and invested in characters.
3:34 “For God’s sake, who named this woman?”
We still don’t know why Captain Marvel is even called by that moniker in the movies! People just start calling her that with no in-universe explanation like most other superhero origin stories explain
The tongue lashing she deserved, finally.
I care. I like Brie Larson, and I like Captain Marvel, and her points were right.
Best video I've seen on Captain Marvel, Brie Larson & this GirlBoss nonsense.
So many years of women asking for an opportunity… then they get the chance… and this is what they deliver …
All BL productions are considered DOA in my community.
BLarson is a plague upon all women.
the soulless writing by committee doesn't help either, we end up with the same generic crap over and over again with only the packaging being different.
I like the characters. I'm going to see the movie.
She was great in Scott Pilgrim. Nothing else in my opinion.
But she was a stone wall in that movie. She was barely in it. She butchered the main song by Metric and did a terrible cover. I hate the people like her version over Metric 's. Metric wrote it and some of Metric's vocals still remain in Brie's version.

Did the narrator just say “SCARRED JOE”?
I agree with the criticism but I have no idea why Loki is getting caught in the cross fire. Loki is based AF.

You know a movie is going to suck hard when they don't even bother to market it before release
Plus the lack of character development didn't help her.
Elizabeth Olsen ftw. I cannot stand Larsen and couldn't care less about any characters in The Marvels.
