@@trentonkrentz7542 you’re torquing against the drive train where as if it’s on the ground, you’re using the ground to hold back the wheel from spinning. Second you’re not getting 100% accurate torque because of the wheel movement.
I bought the same nameless strut tower bar and intercooler cover from Image import racing after seeing your other video. Next up for me is lip and rear diffuser. Gunna wait on wheels till next year. Good job on the build bro 🤙🏽🤙🏽. I’ll be here avidly watching
you can prob do a plethora of rotors / calipers on this since they really didnt change anything on the braking system. i wouldnt spend the money on any crazy wilwood or brembo BBks unless youre driving the car like a maniac, those systems would ger expensive quick. could prob get creative with an Sti brake kit from forums or ebay etc. and make it fit. nice wheel and tire combo, i run the indy 500s on my evo and theyre awesome for the money and are pretty decent in the rain
Okay, so a larger rim, larger Tire, and no rubbing? I'm planning on putting 255/35R18 size tires on the stock rims and getting some 10mm wheels spacers to have it look clean.
Nice vid. 9.5" but with +38 offset ,so that probably helped prevent any inside rubbing. ? Why are most WRX aftermarket rims +38 offset? Because, the OEM is +55 offset. And, I wonder whether or not going +38 is enough difference to cause suspension geometry/function changes. Basically 17mm more outward. Is the exhaust stock?
The new 9.5" wheels would be around 30mm further outboard - 17mm from offset change and 1/2 of the 1" wider wheel. The inside is almost the same as stock. 17mm further out, but 12.5mm wider due to wheel width so net of around 5mm further out
@@lannym 9.5" wheels, but the OEM is 8.5 rim with 9.5" tire. So 1", which is 25.4mm wider, but the offset is still 17mm, moving the tire out, thus changing the scrub radius. I'm not sure why after market Subie rims tend to be +38 offset.
Here you go then. Gonna have to go with rotary forged or fully forged if you want lightweight. Plus it’s stronger than the stock cast wheels. But it comes with a hefty price. The rotary forged TSW Imatra’s weren’t too expensive
No rubbing at all I’m 90% sure. When I had the coils installed I was sure to make the car high enough to where if the suspension fully collapses. It still won’t rub
@@trentonkrentz7542 that’s good news. I wanted to get 9.5 but I was kinda worried so I got the 8.5 instead. Your wheels look amazing though! #imnotjelly
Hmmmmmm sir... You spent a pretty penny for that wheel set up however I think you should strongly invest in some safety equipment(jack stands). Highly recommend not to torque wheels off ground No need to chance risking injury or damage. Either way the set up looks solid, loving the black on black. I double check each nut after the car is jacked down. Then again after 50 miles or so. All these comments about torquing in the air, oh my goodness lol
Never torque your wheels in the air, only do it when they are on the ground.
Preach
Why tho
@@trentonkrentz7542 its easier and more accurate. plus drive it around few blocks and re tighten again so the wheel is better seated

I love the black so much. It reminds me of the dark trooper from Star Wars, specifically the version from the Mandalorian.
Love Indy500s.... Fantastic tire and worth every penny!
Love those tires, had them on my MKV Rabbit when they first came out. Very underrated tire for the $$,
Agreed. People love em or hate em. I really like em cause they’re cheap and grip well in the rain. No worries at all. Good summer tire
this particular WRX gen looks best in black IMO
This car looks twice as good without the Subaru logo, love how you blacked it out.

looks great, how much lighter are those wheels comparing the stock ones?
Yo yo did those tires and rims ship with tpms sensors and did they automatically connect to the car???? Looks good
Yes. The tpms is optional. It will automatically connect to the car after 5-10 miles of driving
Is that stock suspension and do your wheels have spacers?
Silver’s coilovers, no spacers. Lowered 2 inches

Those should fit without any modifications. Just make sure the bolt pattern for the wheel is 5x4.5
Looks sick
Looks great!
Makes me want to order a 22 WRX lol! What's your suspension setup brother?

Love the NEW Look
Do they make lowering springs for the 22 WRX yet?

Cladding on this new gen would look so much better if someone made a flared out carbon fiber replacement for them.
The aftermarket will get to eventually. They will have a field day with that part of the car because they know its everyone's least favorite part.
