Getting Johnny in and he almost makes it a collab album. literally the greatest living guitarist. Props to Noel for sticking to the vision also. They both know eachother's musical styles so well = great work.
It must be an amazing feeling for Noel, to achieve all with Oasis, and to not have any financial worries and to continue creating music with his musical peers & mates in a positive environment. To come from Burnage to this is some feat. He's won life's lottery. Good for him.
Of course Noel and Johnny Marr are gold in that video, but seeing Gem playing is always such a treat. I'd love if he made a masterclass course or something to show how he brings the right touch with his guitar style.
I think it's important that muscians should keep these recordings, especially for memories. It's also nice seeing who the engineers are and the loads of other people who worked on the songs. They're jst as important as the main guys.
Just inject these videos directly into my veins. I love this album from start to finish. I can’t say the same for any album released in last 10 years. Love Johnny!
So this is Noel’s own studio. What a way to help ensure there’s space & time to allow good things to emerge. If you hire a studio, you’ll always be up against deadlines and dates.
I'm not sure what I am drooling over more: the gorgeous guitars in this clip or some of the riffs themselves, like those Johnny plays for Pretty Boy and Council Skies and one goes like "Right, so this is how those came to be!" (By the way, I especially love that infectious Pretty Boy riff; it's like Noel often says about Johnny's input: it lifts the song to a different place without affecting the tune's core.) :)
When you think of their chance meeting all those years ago and that Noel is now friends with the guys in his teenage favorite band.....I mean that's incredible. ♡
