About Noel Gallagher:
Noel Gallagher was the main songwriter, lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist of Oasis, one of the biggest and most loved bands ever to emerge from the UK. His band played a tremendous role in shaping and inspiring contemporary guitar music from the 1990’s onwards. Noel’s continued success with the High Flying Birds cements his position as one of the most prolific and successful British songwriters of the last 50 years.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds first emerged in 2011 with their eponymous album released in October of that year. The album went double platinum in the UK and has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. The release of the debut album was supported by a touring schedule covering 150 live shows in 32 countries.
This was followed by ‘Chasing Yesterday’, released in March 2015 - the first album to be produced as well as written by Noel, with 122 further shows in 28 countries.
A third album, ‘Who Built The Moon?’, was recorded in sessions spanning 2 years with renowned producer and composer David Holmes in Belfast and London released in November 2017.
There followed a series of multi-genre EPs released over the course of 2019 and 2020, all receiving high critical acclaim.
June 2021 saw the release of ‘Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-2021)’ - a Best Of celebrating a decade of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. This was the bands 4th consecutive Number 1 album and the 12th Number 1 album across Noel’s career. 2021 also saw Noel named as Record Store Day’s official ambassador.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds played Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage in June 2022, delivering a career-spanning set to one of the weekend’s biggest crowds. The show was the culmination of a summer of acclaimed sold-out outdoor venues across the UK.
Fast forward to 2023 and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are looking ahead to their much anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Council Skies’, due for release 2nd June. From the evocative album title to the cover art, to the lyrics themselves, ‘Council Skies’ sees Noel Gallagher bringing a more personal perspective, reclaiming his past and paying homage to his Mancunian roots. His most varied and accomplished solo record to date, Noel’s new album is a record framed by confidence, risk-taking, surefooted creative freedom, and great emotional depth.
The first singles taken from the album - ‘Pretty Boy’ and ‘Easy Now’ - were met with a hail of critical and commercial success by fans and media alike. ‘Pretty Boy’ has also been remixed by The Cure’s Robert Smith, taking the track to a new spaced-out dimension.

Noel should release Council Skies - The Demos. Would love to hear the early versions of these tunes
Yessssss!! its what the world needs
How this guy can play the exact same chords with the exact same strumming and come up with different melodies baffles me!
Which songs have the same melodies?
Well he seems like a nice fella anyway.
He stopped being a guitar player after Be Here Now
@@Chazza1909he said he comes up with different melodies
@@badgasaurus4211 his guitar playing is quite good on this album
Getting Johnny in and he almost makes it a collab album. literally the greatest living guitarist. Props to Noel for sticking to the vision also. They both know eachother's musical styles so well = great work.
Seen johnny live a couple times, he and his band are sublime
Johnny is so overrated nowadays tho
Johnny marr's high flying birds
Eric Clapton, Brian May, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, John Mayer, Joan Jett, Jack White and Slash want to know your location.
@Tony-vf9zu not at all my friend
Was a real treat watching Noel and Johnny collaborate.
Could watch that for hours
Noel is one of the few guys doing artistic and genuninely new creative music in this third decade of XXI century. Impressive genius!
Marr just causally laying down the most insane guitar playing over these songs is just a pleasure to watch
They really aren't that complex
@@Tony-vf9zu they should get you instead then instead of him.
@@Tony-vf9zu More tasteful than anything you could plop out, so for you its infinitely complex. Funny how that works.
@@Tony-vf9zu tasty >>>>>>>> complex
@@chaz32 how could you possibly know that hahahaha
Of course Noel and Johnny Marr are gold in that video, but seeing Gem playing is always such a treat. I'd love if he made a masterclass course or something to show how he brings the right touch with his guitar style.
Gem makes playing look effortless. All ways plays his pause's and never more than what is needed.
I love his laid back feel.
Agree he's really underrated - not too flashy he plays the right thing for the track
I think it's important that muscians should keep these recordings, especially for memories. It's also nice seeing who the engineers are and the loads of other people who worked on the songs. They're jst as important as the main guys.
It must be an amazing feeling for Noel, to achieve all with Oasis, and to not have any financial worries and to continue creating music with his musical peers & mates in a positive environment. To come from Burnage to this is some feat. He's won life's lottery. Good for him.
I dont think He realises how lucky he actually this
He isn't happy, still mones alot and is an angry little man but it doesn't get in the way of his music, so I'll let him off.
Looks like someone doing hobbies enjoying life
@@indefatigable6176, oh yeah he does. If you've been with Noel since the beginning, you know how humble he is. He knows.
I echo everyone else’s sentiments here but will also add - Noel’s jackets are all 10/10
So this is Noel’s own studio. What a way to help ensure there’s space & time to allow good things to emerge. If you hire a studio, you’ll always be up against deadlines and dates.
Yeah I didn't realise when he pops for breakfast he meant to his own kitchen
Noels solo music clears oasis for me
This album and Chasing yesterday are 2 of his top 3
Silly
I love to see how songs are born. Getting J.M. and gem to add their guitar skills is amazing. Thanks Noel for posting these videos, your amazing.
What a life!!💙
Noel is the best at what he does. Fantastic to see him at work
Just inject these videos directly into my veins. I love this album from start to finish. I can’t say the same for any album released in last 10 years. Love Johnny!
Noel and Jhonny together in the recording room! What a great time to be alive!
When you think of their chance meeting all those years ago and that Noel is now friends with the guys in his teenage favorite band.....I mean that's incredible. ♡
Fascinating seeing these songs come to life and Noel doing his thing with everyone else. And to watch Johnny create magic 👌🏻
I'm not sure what I am drooling over more: the gorgeous guitars in this clip or some of the riffs themselves, like those Johnny plays for Pretty Boy and Council Skies and one goes like "Right, so this is how those came to be!" (By the way, I especially love that infectious Pretty Boy riff; it's like Noel often says about Johnny's input: it lifts the song to a different place without affecting the tune's core.) :)
Didn’t realize just how talented Marr is phenomenal how he comes up with the great riffs! ❤️🤘
I was eagerly waiting for the second part! Thank you for sharing this with us ❤️ We love u 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱 Hugs from Chile
His music is a very important part of my life.
This whole album is a masterpiece man. Think it’s now my favourite album of all time. Every tune is an absolute classic
You said its dreamy, with lots of chords. Before you said it I said it sounds nice and full, lots of layers. Similar to moby layering songs too. Depth. Nice effect, makes the sound more "full". More work gone into every aspect, and that's not even why you're amazing ❤❤❤
Right-on-the-money observation all around. What song you referred it to, with depth and full effect? The Moby comparison too, he seems to be working upon every layer by now, and that's the way it should be done by overskilled musicians like him. But of course, he's just one of a kind.
What amazing amazing footage.. I watched mouth agape and cheesing, all at the same
James Hargreaves got me back into High Flying Birds, see you on the road, this summer✌
Shout out for James. Top man, guitarist, songwriter, storyteller and all round good man.
His vid on 'Dead To The World' is a great watch
Same here! Noel should be sponsoring him
The more I listen to Council Skies the more I dig it. Great musicianship and grooves. And adding Johnny Mar was just brilliant. Learn more about him I must.
The smiths - his guitar playing is amazing and really different - finger picked mostly
I always enjoy watching Noel play and talk. With Johnny Marr? What a feast!
Cheers Noel for letting us into your world and getting Johnny Marr to play guitar for you was awesome thanks
When Noel plays guitar…he just has that “something” that is so cool…can’t wait for the “defiant rock album”.
Marr!! What a man!! His sound is just something else!
This is brilliant. So insightful. Absolutely love it.
Also, Noel, please don’t be a grump and release these acoustic tracks as an EP if you can’t be arsed with the album.
This is one of my favorite albums. I listened to it a lot when it first came out then went back and listened to previous recordings by NGHFB and Oasis. Wonderful to see the process of how the album came together.
Cool to see Johnny Marr playing and the parts he added. So tasty. 🤙🏽💥
To have accomplished all that they have, it's crazy to see how Johnny and Noel do it. So casual.
What a treat to peek behind the curtain! Felt like I was there! Cracking stuff.
Agree it was great
Just looking forward to seeing part 3. ❤
Such a privilege to see the working out. Thanks 🙏
Council Skies is probably my fav NGHFB album already and watching these justifies just how good an album and song writer Noel is. has a great team around him and the addition of Marr just brilliant. love these guys, great time to be alive with such great music.
Agree it's his best
Marr woke up that morning and decided to shred that guitar like nobody else. Breathtaking to watch
Priceless footage. Cant get enough of it!
So amazing!
Seeing Noel and Johnny Marr working together is fucking brilliant, and the guitar solos wow this is because Noel is one of the best musicians
Loved this so much Bro.....Keep Rising.....One Love.HMJ

Wow, Johnny Marr is incredible!
Class this hope he does more of this behind the scenes 👌👍👍
Keep up the good work Noel ! We re looking forward to the next album.
Brilliant again AG!
Great stuff guys, loved seeing Johnny doing what he does...great seeing guys still making magic with instruments...
Marr is always the glue when you need that INSPO
This looks fun and sounds great.
It's gonna be my evening watch for sure. Been waiting week for the second part with you and Johnny being such a power couple.
i could watch this all day and tomorrow
Yes!
Now waiting for Noely G.'s vocal sessions.
What are you referring to? Isolated vocals?
@@jeremymr I mean footage from the sessions where he sings.
Delicious tone on Johnny's guitars.🧁
Watching Jonny Marr at work is just mesmerising.
His Song Composing & Arrangements are Just Awesome!!!Always has been...I dont get how he has a full Orchester & a writer in one Head! This Men is very very gifted god bless his Talent
Amazing Work Noel And An Incredible Album Well Done ❤
As a wanna be producer/ god like rockstar, this is absolute gold to watch!!!
Amazing watching this man work
The contrast between Johnny Marr's invention, followed by Gem getting his meat and potatoes out, is pretty stark!
That guitar part at the start makes Council Skies sound heavier than the finished version lol
True bring it on Noellyyy
Sounding like a cop off Jumpin Jack Flash…And I love it. Hadn’t noticed it on the finished version
Another great can't wait for the third installment
Johnny Marr & Gem Archer 🫡
Noel it's so fantastic to see the making of this great track and album, it seems so long ago that you put out the Council Bins! So many songs these days from others are just Rubbish Man! I can bet with such hard work writing these great songs you will just be empty Council Bins will be a hard one to follow, I will enjoy this album without expectation for the next. A day with out hearing Council Bins for me is a Rubbish Day, thanks for being the best around, I know I can count on you!
Love these. Exactly the BTS content we want
Thank you very much for the insight into your wonderful Talent. keep up the good work, stay healthy. Much Love...
These are brilliant videos, love the album and to see it being made like this is fuckin great
This is the BEST PART! Cheers! ByJD

Two musicians as one! They geddit😎
Awesome
Must be incredible to have the guy listened to as a kid not only play on your records, but to be your friend.
Johnny y Marr is something else ! What a gentleman as well.
Classic!
That john marr fella has got a bright future in music
Johnny is a fucking genius. He should be in the full band as the main guitar player. That would be fuking EPIC!
Top of my bucket list is being in a recording studio when the magic is happening, not playing cos im talentless, just being there.
feel mugged off. Bought this film to be told it was exclusive- now it's free to everyone.
Council skies demos incoming??? 🤞
Complex or not, Marrs playing shines.
jm bits are fab!
When I first heard that record I said to myself: I don't need an Oasis reunion anymore.
Like it put my nostalgia to sleep 🍻🍻
The gigs would be fun though
Release the demos Noel!
It seems like session of « the Cure » - I love it
27:00 MORE OF THIS NOEL ❤️
For NG and Marr: what’s it like to be so talented? 🎯🐐🎸🎶🇬🇧⭐
23:38 'there's somethin' happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear...'
Part 2 baybeh 🎉 big momma watching 😂😂
Very nice to see you keeping the volume at a good level in the control room.
I once walked into a heavy metal session and the volume was peeling the wall paper off the walls, not cool! Squat Thrust!
This is part 3!
‘Open the door’ being a reference to Lee Mavers and ‘I am The Key’ with Johnny Marr on 👌
Heard a snatch of the unreleased album Noel did with Future Sound of London the other day and it was easily the best thing he’s ever done. No idea why he and the label never wanted to release it.
Didn't know about this project before. What was the tune like?
@@Ryan.w200 psychedelic prog rock pop. Little bit of Kraft rock in there. It was pretty incredible. Not a million miles away from their remix of Falling Down or the colabs they did with Paul Weller or Rosetta.
@@jeremybiggs8413Sounds fantastic! Let's hope Noel does a u-turn and puts this out there soon!
this is the shit i love to watch!!!!!!!!!
