    I have HD740 paired with DMX1057RX receiver, I want to add the side view cams with PAC Video switcher to the rear view Cam input to automatic trigger the side view cameras , is my HD740 still going to work?

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, however using that automatic switching method to control the camera display will disrupt your Apple CarPlay / Android Auto GPS signal. The best method for camera switching is to use the on-screen controls or iDatalink Maestro RR2 wired with compatible vehicles that support automatic switching or they offer a universal configuration that can be added to NON-maestro compatible vehicles in a custom-installed configuration. Its recommended to consult with your local KENWOOD dealer on if this is possible with your make and model vehicle since there are some specifics they would need to review before this method can be confirmed as an option in your vehicle. Thanks!

    I have this camera paired with a dmx1057xr. I love the screen resolution of the camera, however, I get a 1-2 second delay when switching to the camera either by hitting the camera button or shifting in reverse. Any clue as to what could be the cause?

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could possibly have something to do with where the power for the camera is being supplied from, I would reach out to our technical support team at 1-800-KENWOOD to see if they could further assist you with that Richard!

    Good to see. I find it odd there isn't another protocol you can use over those distances for HD video like a thin HDMI cable, ethernet or WiFi module. Hopefully in the future.

    Will mirror imagining selection with the DMX958XR ever be supported so this camera can be used on both the front and rear with this head unit? The DMX958XR has a front HD-TVI RCA input but there is little to no front camera 720p options on the market which uses the HD-TVI protocol. Most everything uses AHD which always shows black and white when the HD protocol is selected with the DMX958XR. Without the mirror imagine selection for the front camera, it makes the HD input on the DMX958XR almost useless.

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The DMX958XR will only support the CMOS-740HD backup camera as a rear camera. Thanks!

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the camera is exclusively for video in reverse it does not have a "Backup Sensor" feature. This requires a different set of parts and installation to achieve that type of function in reverse. Thanks!

    I have a 2016 F250 and looking to install the DNR1007xr. I have the factory back up camera with all of the lines including the ball hitch centerline. Does this camera have the same lines or does utilize the factory backup camera lines? I did not see any in this video.

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The receiver can do both! When retaining the OEM backup camera with the proper aftermarket adapters like iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 and required Ford-specific adaptors, you can definitely retain factory backup lines. And the receiver also allows you to edit and set up a built-in set of lines if your camera does not have the lines. Thanks

    Hello, can i use this camera for the front of my vehicle in the bumper without the image being mirrored?

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The CMOS-740HD is a Rear camera and cannot be mirrored. However, the 10.1" KENWOOD receivers have a mirror control built into the hardware of the receivers and CAN flip the image from the CMOS-740HD, so with one of the 4 compatible 10.1" receivers like the DMX1057XR, DNR1007XR, DNR1008RVS, or the DMX1037S you can utilize the HD camera for both front and rear use because of this feature. Thanks!

      Global Flatline, Thanks for the question. The receiver you are asking for is an EU version and varies by territory and is best to reach out to a KENWOOD dealer or tech support for your region. However, a quick look at the KENWOOD EU website only lists the HD Camera as compatible with the Rear input ONLY. here is the KENWOOD EU page with your receiver info www.kenwood.com/au/car/visual_navigation/ddx9020dabs/ Thanks!

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for commenting on this video with your questions. Unfortunately, as you know, the receiver you purchased is not compatible with the CMOS-740HD you wanted to use. The CMOS-740HD is relatively new and requires specific hardware that is currently only available in our Top-end receivers. The good news is the DDX9707S is compatible with up to 4 camera's including our DRV-N520 Dashcam, you should look into the CMOS-320 as an alternative option for your vehicle. It offers x2 zoom control and great picture quality with that receiver. and can be used front or rear. Thanks!

    Can this camera be used as a side view camera or is ther another hd option for side view cameras? i have the dmx1037s and i am waiting on my dashcam ( drv a601wdp ) to show up from ebay and i want to add sideview cameras at the same time since i have to remove the headunit for installation anyway.

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the CMOS-740HD is only able to work as a front or rear camera with the DMX1037S. You can use any side view camera that is NON-HD.
      Also, I wanted to note that the DRV-A601W is not intended to be used as a dashcam and connect to the DMX1037S. The DRV-N520 designed to connect to our receivers like the DMX1037S and allow you to view footage from the touchscreen of the receiver if that is what you are looking to do. The DRV-A601W works great as a stand-alone Dash Cam.
      Thanks!

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Kenny,
      The CMOS-740HD isn't compatible but the CMOS-320, CMOS-230, and CMOS-130 all are. Although they aren't HD they still have 330,000 pixels worth of resolution to provide a great image!

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The HD-TVi technology requires hardware in the receiver for it to function. Since this is a brand new feature, only newer models are equipped with the hardware required.

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The CMOS-740HD requires the receiver to have hardware inside to function. So it would not work with the DDX371, this receiver would work great with our CMOS-230 though!

    I have the dnx997xr receiver and bought this camera for front but receiver doesn't support mirror image flip. No settings for it, sad that its a flagship unit and doesn't have mirroring capabilities. Maybe with a software update.

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct, the DNX997XR does NOT support front mirror image flip. Since this was our FIRST generation with support for up to 4 Camera input, and also the HD camera introduction, it was not possible when this was being developed. The next generation of receivers has already made that adjustment to add image flip. Check out the DMX1057XR or the DNR1007XR for front or rear support of the CMOS-740HD and includes an image flip. As with many products, we are always improving and adding features, The DNX997XR is a class-leading receiver in many ways, and is still one of the few products that offer 4 camera inputs with widget control and HD picture quality from the rear camera. Thanks for the feedback!

      @@KenwoodUSA I have a similar question 10mo later… but in regards to the new DMX957XR & the 740HD camera. I bought two 740HD cameras, one for the front & one for the rear of my truck. The rear works amazing, but the image of the front camera needs to be flipped. I’ve read the manuals, & googled this issue & can’t find a solution. I see that this camera is often advertised as a rear or backup camera, but I also see it advertises as both a front and/rear camera. My HU is always listed as one of the Kenwood that is compatible. DMX957XR. Am I missing something?

    • @KenwoodUSA
      @KenwoodUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CJ-xq3pf The CMOS-740HD is a REAR camera only. And the DNX957XR will only accept the HD camera for the rear since it does not have the ability to FLIP the image for use upfront. Our 10.1" platform (Newest Receivers) will allow the use of the HD camera front or rear since they have added Hardware to allow the image flip. Thanks!

      Seems like engineers and software developers at Kenwood lacks knowledge and are less experienced, that they can’t design things to work with their own products. Jvc and Kenwood are products of same company but Cmos cameras can’t work work with Jvc. How funny it is? Similarly, Jvc provides the steering wheel control programming manually (as most of the head units in the market), but Kenwood is not able to perform it, even costing between $1600-$2200, if someone is interested in using cmos cameras. My husband was a big fan of installing Kenwood units in most of the cars, that he used to get in his shop. He mostly gets the car that people built by themselves, so nothing is available with idatalink. So now, he installs Alpine system in all the cars he get and offer $100 off when people get it installed instead of Kenwood. He installed over 150 units in past 3 months. Really happy that we were able to get rid of something that isn’t working with their own product.
