- Peter Luger Steakhouse is not only one of the most well known steakhouses in New York but the entire world. Wolfgang’s was started by a former Peter Luger waiter and supposedly has almost the exact same food. We recently went to Peter Luger and today we’re going to find out if Wolfgang’s really is better.

I wait for the signature Kristin, "Wow." That's the ultimate seal of excellence.
She’s been trying to mix it up, but when something is really good I don’t think she can help herself!
Unfortunately, not really selective….it’s “wow” after every first bite of every dish. Really?
Thanks for checking out Wolfgang’s. I’ve never been and now I’ll know what to order (and not to order!). The two of you are very relatable and I appreciate the thoughtfulness and spontaneity of your videos.
Thanks so much for watching! The steak was outstanding but I bet any steak from here would be. If you go let us know what you get and what you thought of it!
Before Covid, I dined at Wolfgang's. You are 💯% correct about the acoustics. Because of the tiled ceiling archways, sound travels, and it does become extremely loud. Unfortunately, it is inescapable. The food was 😋 delicious. The service was spot on. Very attentive! Bon Appétit!!
You guys do a great job picking out the subtle differences when comparing to others…keep it up!
Thanks so much!
Kristin should definitely be a audio book voice. She has a great soothing yet commanding voice.
I'm seeing a noticeable subscriber count growth finally. Hope you guys keep it up!
Thank you!! Haha we hope so too!
Always interesting when a former employee opens their own competing restaurant - basically stealing the original’s recipes. Wolfgang’s appears to have built a mini empire off the Peter Luger brand. Nicely reviewed!
Thanks! Yeah it goes to show how impactful Peter Luger was in its day. It’s seems like Wolfgang’s might actually be even more successful at this point
Because of you guys and other food related channels , I have lots of places to take my family out for dinner on special occasions, when just looking at the pictures doesn’t do these restaurants justice
Happy to help! We felt the same way. It’s so hard to choose a place when there are so many amazing ones around. Hopefully our videos can help make the decision a bit easier!
Wolfgang's is where I take clients (The one in the NY Times Building); not where i'd take my family lol
That's the best way I can describe Wolfgang's
Haha yeah that makes sense. And it’s an amazing place to come if you’re using a corporate card!
There is one by my house in Central Jersey. I’m going to have to try it, based on your review. And it beats the crazy commute to Brooklyn.
Someone else just commented that they went to that one and loved it! Let us know what you think! And we'd love to hear if you get fresh bread haha
Me and the fiancé just went to Wolfgangs but in Somerville NJ (were from NYC but try to hang out here as little as we can lol). I strongly recommend the Ribeye, I know you have to compare the sirloin to lugers and Benjamin, but next time do ribeye it was out of this world good, and cooked beautifully medium rare. Also, is love to hear a steal rating in the future from you guys. Love the videos 🤘🏻
Our steak was absolutely incredible! Yeah, we’d typically go for ribeye (we just had ribeye five days in a row in Vegas) but ordered the sirloin for comparison purposes. Wolfgang’s is one we would definitely come back to so we’ll absolutely get the ribeye on our next visit. Thank you! And steak rating as in a ranking of all the places we’ve tried?
@@travelfuller well id also love the ranking of all the places but maybe just a rating of each steak as you guys go, it could be interesting to see the scores...... Yeah we love Wolfgang's, to be honest I went in with little hope thinking it was another big name tourist trap but it was fantastic.... Ribeye 5 days in a row? You guys don't mess around lol
@@ggagoots haha yeah those videos will be coming out in a few weeks! We've been trying to think of a good way to implement some sort of rating system, maybe we'll just do a score out of ten for everything we try
@@travelfuller yeah it's tough to figure out if you should rate is as a whole or just the steak and sides. Me and my fiance don't do any videos but we always rate our steak out of 10 just so we can see if our #1 can be topped
“It’s not that good” *continues to murk the entire plate*
lol yeah it would have to be pretty bad for us to leave any food
Wow, the char on that steak is bananas:)
Steak can never have too much char!
17$ for an apple strudel is crazy! You get 4 original strudel for this price even in Vienna!
UA Eats & Kristin & Will - I think a lot of Peter Luger's old world chefs/servers have moved on or retired. The steak preparation is inconsistent, which is typically a sign of a restaurant in decline. Peter Luger's now has a location at Caesars Palace MRC (Mega Resort Casino) in Las Vegas - they could be back. ANYHOO, the best steakhouse in NYC, could be Golden Steer in Las Vegas. I'm being slightly facetious - the flights are cheap & a lot of "made guys" haha Vegas MRC's love everything NYC food wise E.g. Prince St Pizza opened location at Durango MRC...nearby is All'antico Vinaio (The Commons) Carbone NYC has a location at Aria MRC etc Keep up the good work Shalom, Milana & Jeremiah

Thanks for your comment! We have a video on Golden Steer coming out on Saturday! It was incredible. Many of NYC’s best restaurants now have locations in Vegas so maybe we’ll do a comparison sometime in the future if that’s something people are interested in watching!
Very even energy, great 👍 work , you both are very professional and
It's very easy to watch . Grateful for the enjoyment and contents . Be exceptionally blessed 🙌 as always! Bbh
Wolfies is preferable to lugers, but it’s also somewhat location specific. With prices the way they are, steakhouses are less appealing as you can approximate 85% of what they do at home buying a good steak for 70% less in the price.
As in some locations are much better than others? We went to the original thinking it would be the best but it doesn’t seem like they make the breads or desserts here. They would probably be better at a different location. And totally agree. That’s why we started making these videos, because if you’re deciding to go out for a big expensive meal it’s nice to know what the experience is like so you can pick the place that looks the best to you!
@@travelfuller I’m glad I discovered your channel. This was a very well done piece of work.
@@trentbatemanthanks! Really appreciate it!
@@trentbateman also let us know if there are any places you think we should try!
@@travelfuller try Kaoru on 46th and 2nd as a hidden Japanese place. For about 23 bucks you get a massive bowl of sashimi with very high quality tuna. Owner apparently has his own fishing boat so that accounts for the quality and price. Bit dated decor, but very friendly staff and tremendous value that people would appreciate I feel.
Apple strudel. Yes
This apple strudel wasn't our favorite unfortunately
@@travelfuller I understand. Your videos are awesome
Thanks so much!
The disappointment on Kristin’s face was palpable 😅 sounds like they might need to improve in their bread/pastry department…
Haha yeah we've heard from other people that the bread and desserts are great so maybe this location doesn't make them there or something!
I visited Wolfgang’s two weeks ago and the steak left a lot to be desired. I live in Texas and know steak. I ordered the NY strip cooked medium and each bite of the steak was dry and like eating salt cubes. One side of the steak had no char and as I said before, no flavor other than salt.
Did you visit the same location? That's the issue with reviewing some of these chains, they might not be consistent location to location or even person to person. We've been to nearly every steakhouse in NYC and this was easily one of the best steaks we've had but some of the food left a lot to be desired. We will have to try another location to see if we have a similar experience but it's unfortunate to hear they're not always this good
@@travelfuller West 41st Street in Manhattan. I will say the crab cake was delicious along with the key lime pie.
@@Vinsanity-ud3wj we almost went there instead! I wonder if we would’ve had the same experience. Also do you have any recommendations in Texas? We’re going to hopefully plan a trip soon to review some restaurants!
@@travelfuller if in Houston and in the mood for steak try Taste of Texas and Toro Toro. These are two of my favorites. There are several others around town that will sure to please.
@@Vinsanity-ud3wj thanks!
If the taste of the steak is fantastic, why do you put steak sauce on it? A steak that is cooked to perfection does not need steak sauce in my opinion.
Couldn’t agree more but Kristin just really likes their sauce! We almost never use any of the sauces at the steakhouses we go to, but at Peter Luger she has a few bites with it. Sometimes it can be good to break up eating a lot of the same thing
Will and Grace?
Keen’s is hands down not even close the best steakhouse in NYC. Doesn’t get the publicity that a place like Luger’s gets but it blows it out of the water.
Agreed! If anyone can only try one steakhouse in NYC, Keens is always our top recommendation
What is her accent??? The San Fernando Valley? It's also kinda nasally like Philly.
Much worse… New Jersey!
Why does the woman sound like a teenager trying to mimic a Kardashian? Is there a part of the country where this inflection in the last word of a sentence is normal?
Kristin, very brave of you to wearing a white shirt!
Wow, things have changed. "Back in the Day", you could only get the burger at the bar during lunch. That is NOT the same burger that I remember, I'd be very disappointed in that one....
Ok I have to ask, about the apple struedel scene in Inglorious Bastards, was that scary or what?
Bonza living the dream 😂😂❤😂😂❤❤❤❤😂😂❤😂😂
Fair dinkum unbelivable 😂😂❤❤😂😂❤❤😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
a $28 burger???...no way...never...
Nicely done, as always. You both look good, eating exceptional food agrees with you. Forks Up.....
Thanks! Haha we’re always looking for our next great meal!
In this part of the video he mentioned Peter Lugers steak house and Wolfgangs both are very expensive and when you go to a steak house no starch or vegetables that's extra,so I don't go rather I go to the supermarket and make it at home cheaper and I can make it the way I want to eat it and I make my own sauce.
