Scale wise they look 'normal human' to me. I can see using them as more heavily armored HDF troops imo. Great video as always

Fair comment. They would do well as heavier HDF minis. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Wargames Atlantic have a downloadable instruction sheet for the stormtroopers. It explains how the different weapons are grouped into firing from the shoulder, firing from the hip etc and how to match up the correct arms for the pose. Makes life a lot easier when choosing the figure stance you want.
Wish they did that with their other figures.

Wargames Atlantic are currently running votes for the Iron-core 'Valkir' which are more similar to Space marines. I am looking forward to them if they get the most votes. You can find pictures of them online. Their heavy weapons look really cool to me.

Thank you for the comment. I just looked up the “Valkir” and you are right. They do look more like Marines. I wonder how their sizing will match up.

Got a box of these to test paint on. They're fun and affordable.
Nice to know I wasn't the only one having trouble gluing them on bases.

Thanks so much for the comment and for letting us know you also found them challenging to glue onto the bases.

Love the straightforward review, thinking of using these as Karskin type figures for OPR firefight 🤔

Awesome. Thank you. I use them as human defence force stormtroopers in opr now. They get a lot of tabletop time compared to some other models in my collection.

There were some Great Vehicles originally I believe, found images,. never did find them. This is Tricky kit to build patience for sure. Nice presentation, Thanks!

Proxy Astra Militarum. Not filled out enough for SM.

I think you are right. I finally did paint them up and used them for one page rules as Stormtroopers for a guardsmen army (aka Human Defence Force)

3:04 The pose was intended to be step heel/ toe fashion. Meaning the toe is on the ground and the ankle is stepping up.

we use these as proxies for german power armor in konflict '47. warlord metal miniatures are too expensive, so these make good proxies.

This is a great review, thank you. I have a lot of the old Eisenkern and would be interested to hear from Wargames Atlantic as to how they match up in size. I do hope they make the plastic wheeled transport that was part of the original line. I only have one and would like three.

Thanks so much for the comment. There is an article here that I wrote earlier with a picture showing the two brands of figures. I didn’t show it in this video because I didn’t ask for permission to use it on TH-cam.

@@MustContainMinis Oh, thanks! Missed that! The figures are very similar and for that I am grateful to Wargames Atlantic (although they must have had the new guys hitting the gym because their arms and legs are more buff!)

With different helmets, such as those from Pig Iron or Anvil Industry, those minis could be an interesting faction for Stargrave.

    • @MustContainMinis
      @MustContainMinis  ปีที่แล้ว

Agreed, but I think they would need some more pistol type weapons on the sprue for stargrave so not everyone has two handed guns.

There are no shotguns for the Eisenkerns. Using the frame at 1:23, I shall list them from top left and work clockwise.
Assault rifle, rifle, rifle, SMG UGL (under-slung grenade launcher), Anti-material rifle. Put the drums on the rifles and they become machine-guns.

    3:45 R2A is a more compact machine-gun.
