Every company is overvalued to Kevin. It's a tactic he uses that as part of his typical self when telling people how terrible their company is so he can lowball them and then never close the deals.

A lot of them went out because of "obesity" and "health concerns." Not everybody lives diet culture, some people get exercise and avoid drugs and alcohol and eat what we want. And some people can let other adults decide whether or not to eat something. Advertising a product doesn't mean someone is hypnotized into buying it. I would've invested in this in a heartbeat.
They went out because she is an alcoholic, the health concern was an excuse to not seem rude. Never get into bed with a junkie or alcoholic.
Big props to her for getting sober, but she should've keep that part of her life private to her.
Just like they always say this is a business. Doesn’t matter if it’s health or not. One episode they funded a horror haunted house I mean way different businesses but hey what ever makes money 💴

The only issue is shipping cost is crazy. Doubles the minimum price to qualify for orders
I don't know if it's the editing, but something about the history of alcoholism seemed to turn the Sharks off. Entrepreneur seems really nice but they all went cold at that moment, even Mr Wonderful who usually jumps to make a deal with any profitable business. They should have given her a chance

yeah watching shark tank and hearing how much it costs these companies to make and seeing how much margin they're squeezing out of us, I won't be a repeat buyer to a lot of these products
Almost everything you consume from internet to tv to goods and services all have high margins. Businesses have to keep their gross margin high to enable them spend more on marketing/customer acquisition etc. A low gross margin is going to ground a business in no time
@@Tha_Mentalist I didn’t say they had to have “low” margins, but over 10x the price is crazy! She’s saying that the cost of her “serving” this cookie dough is 5 dollars per serving? Really compare that to someone who does electrician work or woodwork.
Think of it like this. the profit margin is usually before tax, net profits are after. Those profits are typically put back into the buisness too expand, for inventory, for employees, ect.
Keep in mind too, theyre paying for all their utilites, which in any sort of food buisness, is a HUGE cost. (industrial freezers, fridges, packing ect)
Much like you work a 9-5 job and make 80k a year, they run a buisness and end up making about the same.
Maybe be angry that these buisnesses are super heavily taxed, because that drives up price to keep those margins.
It’s called business. If you have that mindset good luck leaving your house, everywhere you go there will be high margins. Are you not going to eat at any restaurants, coffee shops, etc? Because you do know they all do the same thing right

Of course people eat cookie dough including myself. It is a premium indulgence that she is representing, like a once a month treat. IMO if she also sold cookie size balls for the oven it would open up an a whole new market for the people who like cookies instead of the just the dough. KACHING.

I hope there's a lot of ppl out there like me that really can enjoy just a couple of bites of cookie dough but the anticipation is that I'm going to eventually get fresh baked warm cookies. That's the rub there with the childhood nostalgia. I know there are those of you who could eat a whole tube of that pre-made cookie dough. I think that's nasty and I think it's a reaching idea for this entrepreneur but I don't think it's as scalable as she thinks it is.

lol, products are not healthy for those who can't even control themselves in consuming habits, that is a poor excuse to say they don't want to invest. The problems is not consuming 1 of those products every 2 weeks, the problem is consuming them 2-3 times a week, not doing excercise, not eating vegetables nor fruit, not drinking water, etc.

There’s nothing in this about the taste or quality of the product. I’ve gone up and down the future thinking PC ladder. And what I’ve learned is that there’s something to be said for over correcting. The sharks seems like scared little minnows, terrified to be eaten by the forward thinkers. But as a forward thinker, it seems the sharks are trapped in the past. Looks yummy. Ya know the best way to enjoy something high in calories. Use that energy to exercise lol

The problem is, there is no significant nutritional value it it. It is very important to only put quality fuel into your body. If you don't care about health and only want to sell taste.... ooops, hard to compete with the candy bars that own the market.

Yeah, I think she needs to drop the sobriety angle as part of the pitch for the company. It's her victory, for sure, and I know she wants to be "an inspiration" for people who struggle with the condition. But as part of the business pitch itself, I'm not sure investors want to hear your substance abuse history. Business is full of stressors so an investor doesn't want to hear how you used to abuse alcohol.

And to think, I actually liked Robert, he’s going out only because of his personal issues with the cookie dough like I don’t like steak but if the margins r good then I’ll hop onboard so that definitely wasn’t a valid reason to go out but it was entertaining to see that Barbara wasn’t the first to go out 😂

I don't get the idea of closing the brick and mortar store because you went online. I despise it. Fine do like a food truck instead. It's important for communities to get a general vibe about how the labor is done behind the product. It just feels so soulless.

I think just trying the dough is good idea from the bowl/batch like when I was a kid but the anticipation for me is where there's cookie dough there better be warm fresh basked cookies coming.
