    How to print gold. Step 1 spend 2,000+ gold. Step 2 spend the next seven years non-stop 24/7 salvaging items & reposting just to recover cost of initial investment.

      yea i agree, while it is technically free (well not really, cost of keys i guess or time to farm keys but anyways "free") if you don't sell it you're basically in the hole for the profit you would have got from selling it. selling it is basically insta money. using it is not.

    I bought the infinite upgrade extractor, used it to cover maybe a quarter of the cost and then quit the game. It was a horrible experience. Do not recommend.

      Well, that's the thing with min/maxing in mmo. Some people love it, others hate it. Just play the game the way u like it. I hate min/max. I turns the game into work and math lesson. I spend my resources on stuff that is fun for me, not on what makes most sense according to meta. If I would be lucky to get the stuff from the video, I would most likely sell it, turn gold into gems and buy all range of stuff of the gem store, like skins, account upgrades etc. And wouldn't care a bit if that's the right thing to do is not:)

    And yet again we back to Click Wars 2. Like the old times there wasnt a "use all" option on champion bags and containers.

    Something that many fail to understand about GW2, just about everything IS a buy once cry once thing. If you're willing to drop the 2K + gold for this item, good for them. The plus side to this is, you don't have to wastes gold/gems for the extraction tools. As for the salvaging of mats, this tool has nothing to do with it. Yes, dragging 1 at a time sucks but as you said, it's the same with all salvaging kits with the exception of copperfed, silverfed and the rune salvagematic. The research salvage kits won't give you solid mats in return.

      If a player use gold / gems for extraction tools then it means he needed them for himself / to swap gear idk (because I don't see someone doing this to extract upgrades from random gear). That means that this players doesn't have legy runes, in this case if this player have 2K+ gold on him why would he need to invest it in the extractor when he could just go for the legy runes ?
      To me the issue is that for it to feels like a good thing to make gold someone need to drop it randomly or need to be full legy / be ready to commit fully to it

      @@Just-YapThat's kind of my point, work on leggy items before wasting gold on this item. There's other methods and ways. Each their own really, I won't ever tell anyone how to play "their" game, only try to help people save gold. Cheers :)

    I have alot ofvextra black lion salvage kits and I use them usually on any exotic drop. I don't have a spreadsheet but I can say that it's more profitable to salvage with those kits than to sell on TP, even if the rune/sigil sucks. Some armors give out expensive insignias so an item that's worth 40 silver on TP can turn into almost 1,5g.
    But when my kits eventually run out, I'll probably resort to selling exotics on TP again, but this extractor item seems more valueable for those who don't have legendary runes/sigils yet.

  • @Somebody374-bv8cd
    @Somebody374-bv8cd 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Now I don't like how this thing functions, but there's a reason for it. If it was as easy as the silver fed/copper fed/etc anet would end up likely selling less of those on the gemstore as everyone would probably buy one of these instead. Plus anet wants to sell extractors/BL kits on the store too.
    There's also something I've noticed. The old login rewards had a "chest of black lion goods" or something that you get every week, which have a decent chance of giving you a black lion salvage kit. Notice how the new wizard's vault doesn't have that. I think that this means that at some point, runes and sigils will likely slowly crawl their way up to their crafting value (a lot of them are too expensive to craft compared to their TP value) as the amount of people who have free black lion salvage kits decreases, as they slowly use them up.

    • @phandrel
      @phandrel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a good point. You can still get those chests from the fractal reward chests, but it's random. I wouldn't mind seeing some profitability or breakeven return to crafting runes and sigils.
      Overall, I think it's a good thing as well this tool isn't that user-friendly. It already has the potential to disrupt the economy as is.

    • @vukkulvar9769
      @vukkulvar9769 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can buy extractors for 35 astral acclaim each. Same price as the 1g bag.
      So it's worth for every rune/sigil worth 1g17s65c or more.

  • @RawrGamingWithT
    @RawrGamingWithT 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    the real question though is how many extraction do you have to do to make the profit you would have got from selling the item and do you think you will use it that much or more?

    • @phandrel
      @phandrel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The method I used, which is exotics with high value runes/sigils, gives you quite a bit extra, as we already outearn the piece with the ectos, insignias, and the actual rune or sigil. On top of that, you get some extra mats, that aren't part of the calculation.
      It is still not worth going through the hassle, in my opinion, of this whole process, unless you're willing to automate it. But that in itself is against the ToS, so I'd rather stay away from such methods myself.

    After some thought, I sold mine. I often don't have time to do everything I would like to do, so I think buying and selling this item and earning about 150g on it is a good choice. 😃

    The ability to make coin with this is nice, but the true benefit lies in the flexibility of testing endless builds. The thousands of gold ive saved because of the dozens and dozens of builds ive tried out across almost every specialization has allowed to me enjoy GW2 much longer than I could have without the extractor.

  • @yt-mv3pv
    @yt-mv3pv 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    How long would it take to breakeven if you buy off one on tp?

    • @phandrel
      @phandrel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's hard to give a general number, as it would depend on the speed you process at, as well as the method. If you buy exotics with an average profit of 5s and the extractor at 1.6k, that's already 32k items to salvage. So if you process 100/15 min or 100/min, the amount of time to payoff would be vastly different.
      I don't know the exact profitability ratio of green unidentified gear, which I often saw referred as a popular method. So I assume that's something you can do more permanently than exotic items, as a single person can buy out the whole daily supply of exotics easily.
      But it's safe to say you'll be salvaging tens of thousands of items to turn breakeven. You really need an industrial scale to make it worth it imho.
