“Give it away, give it away.” When Bishop Barron said this I couldn’t help but recall The same titled song by Red Hot Chili Peppers. In this instance love, when given away, means that much more.
Totally privatising your relationship with God and never arguing and standing up for truth makes as much sense as never having an argument within a marriage. Keeping things to yourself merely keeps you isolated inside your own bubble. I enjoy (you) Bishop Barron very much. One thing: You say you preface your comments with "friend"... What happens when you're arguing with a ROBOT? Artificial intelligence is a real thing and we are rapidly approaching a point when you, or anyone who has the gift of the gab (or keyboard), will not know when their opponent is a ROBOT... Technically, there is NO WAY YOU CAN WIN. This is the whole basis of my return to Catholicism from Atheism - that it transcends argument. I assure you I am not "signalling virtue" when I say there is no way anyone can win an argument with an Atheist. (...the argument falls on the one making the claims etc etc). So my take from all of this talk, is that argument will GET YOU NOWHERE. The evidence so far shows - via your success - that I am wrong. But for how long? How many arguments will it take? I believe it was a great saint who said: "My job is to inform, not to convince." Anyway, for what it's worth, receive my prayers and thanks. Miguel Capelo
Bishop Barron makes the point about arguing religion, in partcular with atheists. However, I ask the bishop and all of you out there, how do we do this in the current climate? My experience is that one of the commonest atheist weapons in the debate is to demean, to mock, to demean, to insult, etc. A great many atheists refuse to enter into a dialogue. They will insult you, the Bible, Jesus, God, etc. They use pejorative terms and imagery. Have you found similar problems in trying to establish a dialogue?
Hello Bishop Barron, I always enjoy listening to you speak! Your interview with Ben Shapiro was really great too! I'm just wondering why your pectoral cross is not visible? Did someone ask you to conceal it?
I'm not a Barron fan, but I must say he presents in this video one of the most important ideas about religion and Catholicism today: that heatlhy argument (not discusson) is needed and is somewhere between violent imposition and bland toleration. It seems so obvious now that I watched this video. I'm embarrassed I didn't see it until now. Such is the case with a genius idea. Extending this idea, America should probably learn to argue conservative vs. liberal ideas, and democratic vs. republican agendas, instead of flying to one or the other extreme. We should embrace the word argue in it's philosophical sense (or debate?) and stop with the "listening sessions" crap. Otherwise, what is religion REALLY doing in society? One party believes it is a struggle between good vs. evil, the other party thinks it is the opium of slack-jawed yokels in the heartland.
I don’t know HOW to argue religion because the Only religion I knew growing up was Catholicism. I’m shocked to learn how many religions or beliefs there are.

Maher can only talk about fundamentalism and somewhat astoundingly , he assumes Catholics, Jews, Orthodox.. and others with the best intellectual traditions.. ( a lot deeper than atheism for instance.. :-) ) are like that. Really strange.
In a country where freedom of religion is allowing a Satanic Mass but is legislating for the Seal of Secrecy to.be broken, this message is an imperative.
Audio was very bad but very good talk!
Who was Bishop Barron quoting when he said, ‘the mind is like a stomach’ instead of like a box
He was quoting Fr. Bernard Lonergan. You can learn more about him here: www.lonerganresource.com/
I enjoy (you) Bishop Barron very much.
One thing:
You say you preface your comments with "friend"...
I believe it was a great saint who said: "My job is to inform, not to convince."
Anyway, for what it's worth, receive my prayers and thanks.

Too short. We want a marathon.
Is the question and answer session available?
Hello Bishop Barron, I always enjoy listening to you speak! Your interview with Ben Shapiro was really great too! I'm just wondering why your pectoral cross is not visible? Did someone ask you to conceal it?
CoriLV13 Honey No, no, it’s purely practical.
Steel-man. I'm gonna remember that.
No Q&A?
Looked out for you Brandon Vogt.
Bishop, with due respect, why do you hide your episcopal cross? Is it embarrassing, or uncomfortable?
Why aren't you a fan?
I’d like to second Bishop Barron’s comment and ask why aren’t you a fan?
I just want to know how fandom is relevant to this thoughtful comment.
Interesting uhm, i love read Bible feed My soul so if i hearing like Heaven!😇😇😇
I don’t know HOW to argue religion because the Only religion I knew growing up was Catholicism. I’m shocked to learn how many religions or beliefs there are.
Good occasion to buy the book so you learn how, no?
Thanks, I already have it. I’m going to make time to read it 😊
I've seen Sunday school classes with better video quality. C'mon Amazon!
@Bishop Robert Barron What is the *GOOD* of the other?
What is the true good of you? Try to find it and you might know the good of the others.
I think the whole audience got evangelized!

The sermon from the pulpit. I've heard it all before.
The question is...Did You Buy It?
@@stevenwiederholt7000 absolutely not. Why would any 21st century, educated person believe in an incomprehensible, supernatural being.
@@rjskeptic5273
You mean 21st century, educated people like, Francis Collins (Head of the Human Genome Project), Dr Michael G Strauss (particle physicists working at CERN), to name but 2, off the top of my head?
@@stevenwiederholt7000 Yes and for every 2 of yours, I could name 2 non believers having equal qualifications. I did state in my original statement "why." The question still remains why would ................ Because they believe doesn't prove there is a god.
@@rjskeptic5273
Why?......It's the truth?
"Because they believe doesn't prove there is a god."
If by Prove, you mean an equation, something we can write down on a blackboard, then no, no proof, BUT neither can you Disprove it. That's why its called Faith. But its not blind faith.
