    Good, informative video! I bought a mts 225 about a year ago. I had never welded before that. I have welded mig a ton am now on to Tig welding aluminum. I have been very happy with the welder todate. I have learned a boat load on what not to do mostly. My Tig welding is not something I could sell but they are getting better every day.

    Thanks, great review of 325-EXT and thanks for giving your likes/dislikes! I'm just a (software engineer, soon to retire) car/metal fab hobby guy that has been running a Lincoln SP-175+ MIG welder in my garage for the last 25-years. I'm planning to buy a new Miller MIG to replace my Lincoln. I've also been looking at the Everlast TIG welders for the past year in hopes of learning to TIG weld too. I've been following the "Pacific Tig Welding" TH-cam channel that typically uses a 255-EXT (and welds less than 1/4" aluminum or steel).
    Since I have a 240V 40A AC power receptacle that's been my MIG power source (and no real need to TIG using 120V) and have the desire for higher TIG welding duty cycles and the capacity to weld thicker steel and aluminum, would buying the 325-EXT over the 255-EXT be a bad idea? Any drawbacks to the 325-EXT over the 255-EXT (other than $250, which is not huge)?

      I would just buy the 325EXT. I have used the 255 and had it towards the top end of its limits on aluminum. But if you are doing steel or stainless going over 200amps is rare.
      One of the biggest things with the newer machines is not needing monster power feeding them. My old Miller unit required a 80 amp breaker.

      @@Hancofab , thanks for the great help, will do! I expect to see a lot of people viewing this 325EXT video, your’s is the best and most complete I’ve seen on TH-cam. Hopefully Everlast will also see it and send more welders or sponsor you for video’s. I’ll make sure to mention you and your channel to Everlast when I place my 325EXT order.

      Your cart seems to put the 325EXT welder and Cooler at a nice height. Do you recall what cart you used, or did you make it?

      @@rays9033 its actually a small tool box from Home Depot that I modified. Guy had picked up my old welder and I needed something to put welder on. They had one that had dents on the top and back. I paid $50 for it. Built a tank mount for the back and ran it.

    Thanks for the Video, I just purchased a 325ext Black Friday Sale. I have no knowledge on how to use it, I need it to fix aluminum cylinder heads.

    Excellent video and review. Seems like the high frequency is a reoccurring problem with Everlast machines . I would like to purchase equipment from them but at the same time I am hesitant . Unfortunately the negative reviews seem to outweigh the positive reviews.

      Since I made that video and I have only had that one part fail. The unit has been flawless.
      About all the machines can run into issues. I have had Lincoln’s and Miller that have had to go back for board replacement. Definitely not isolated to everlast.
      I would not hesitate to buy another one!

      Unfortunately even the American brands are usually loaded with parts sourced from China as well. They are even built there sometimes. ESAB is making their Rebel machines there.

      If you buy miller, hope that nothing goes wrong. They're replacement parts are outrageously high. Everlast customer service is peerless.

    Are you happy you chose to go with the 325ext, as opposed to one of the smaller units?
    I literally just added this complete set up to my cart on everlast welders today, just waiting to pay for it.
    It comes complete with the water cooler, and cart.
    Do you still believe this is a good purchace and are you still happy with it?

      With out a doubt yes, it has been a great welder. I only had that one issue with high frequency board.

    What type of coolant are you running in your cooler? Grate video.

      sorry for slow reply, I have not been getting notifications for comments. The coolant I am running is DynaFlux RTU Defense Coolant W/Ethylene Glycol. But to be honest I know other guys that just use anti-freeze.

    What's a good beginners Tig to learn on, ac/DC ?

    • @Hancofab
      @Hancofab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for reaching out. Part of that is budget. There are some welders out there now that are under 1K new that will be great to learn with. I have tried a TIG 200 from Harbor freight even welds pretty good to learn with.

    What size breaker do you need for the 325 ext. ?

    • @Hancofab
      @Hancofab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everlast said 40amp when running single phase.

      @@Hancofab - I wasn't sure and so just emailed my electrician the specs and he said I was good to go with my current set up. I think I've got 100 amp.. ha hah ah

      @Hancofab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for slow reply I did not have notifications turned on. You have a 100amp breaker or a 100amp panel? Any way as long as its up and going. thanks for watching.

      @@Hancofab - did you make your welding cart? I'm going to make one, but just to get it up and running I got a Harbor Freight welding cart.. ha hahah it wasn't long enough to take the entire footprint of the welder, so I modified it. It works, but I want to make one pretty much like the one you have in this video. I also need a 90 degree fitting because my argon bottle is directly in front of the gas inlet. Other than that, it's all good.

      @@blacktopmods So setup is a tool box from Home Depot. Then I added basically a structure underneath to support the tank. And built a top from some 3/16 aluminum I had handy. I was actually just doing this as a temporary item. But ended up liking all the storage.
