"I'll to go the the grocery store, I'll get my milk, but I'll always come back." A truly inspirational quote from Sam.
I wish my father said that

I ALWAYS COME BACK

He did what our fathers could not😁
Is he William Afton? 😦
The "now you might be thinking it's time to add some shadows. YOU'RE WRONG, course it's time to add some shadows. "
Killed me LOL
Ya'll, the way Sam looks so frightened as he sees us in the camera 💀
Dont blame him 😔
when he threw the money i thought “don’t mind if I do” 😭
Plus the videos are always helpfully, is like he watch us 💀
@@candacetschakert4193 LMAO 👀
Not "us" just you 😔(jk btw)
This is actually really helpful. I've been struggling with coloring my art recently
How did you watch the whole video already..?
🖤
Yes, I’ve been hoping that he would make more tutorials! 🎉🎉🎉
Why do I have a feeling that Sam is slowly going into a new era with his fashion style.
🖤🖤🖤
not gonna lie, this is one of THE best tutorials about colouring i have ever seen, the way you explained it, i didn't get it like that, til now. Thank you very much.
I agree
Literally coloured my sketch for the first time . After 3 years of drawing after watching this video lol. I made that drawing or should I say "painting" as my wallpaper for all my devices .
i have been waiting for this and now i’m watching this while writing about you on an A1 page for my final exam for art 💀
Good luck!!!🎉🍀 ^^
You're writing about Sam in your final exams??
you're writing on A1??? That's the size of the boards I put my paintings on for art 💀
@@Ama_Wraiter thankyouuu
@@CubsYT yes!! he’s my inspo for stylization as he’s helped me a lot through his tips (idk why it sounds like i’m writing to my teacher i’m sorry) 😭
"You might have a hard time finding the right colors just like how you have a hard time finding grass to touch." - wise words
Amazing tattoo by the way:)
🖤🖤🖤
HOW COME SAM RELEASES A VIDEO ABOUT THE EXACT THING IVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH RECENTLY 😭😭😭😭 THANK YOU
🖤🖤
Honeslty, same here. I'm so glad❤
Id also say that another important aspect for getting the right colors is to have the background be the same as it is in the reference, or at least a neutral tone. Colors are perceived in terms of relations to one another, so it could help make sure the colors are correct
🖤🖤🖤
The tattoo literally looks so sick holy crap
Almost like he's a pro artist with visual taste and lots of money. Hard to imagine someone like that would get a bad tattoo
Thank you for helping your art village colour their art, Sam.
Ps. (The money at the beginning would help as well)
You're welcome fellow villager
@@samdoesartsnow we want that money
thank you sooo much. This video was soo helpfull
For anyone curious as to why some shadows are hard and some soft. It is because there are 2 different types of shadows, form shadows (soft) and cast shadows (hard). Not always razor sharp or really soft, depends on lighting ofc. But good to know as a rule of thumb. Search it up if you want to dive deeper, really interesting stuff imo. Anyways great video as always sam!
🖤🖤
i used to be scared of colors pretty much all my life but i applied these techniques in my portrait and i didnt believe that i could also create such beautiful portraits . I had a lot of struggles and i still have to work on my blending skills like you mentioned .... but i am really happy that i actually started and made one !! thanks a lot
This was really helpful, usually when I look at a reference I get overwhelmed by the amount of colors, but I can tell now that they got there step by step.
🖤
Sam's colouring is fr SCRUMPDILLISIOUS
🖤
I could literally eat it
I always always love Sam's frightened intros.
Not only that but his humour throughout the videos is top-notch everytime!
You just taught me so much about coloring and shadows in one video! I've been working on gesture art, so I haven't practiced much at all of color and shading, but I pick up the gesture of shadows and colors pretty naturally so this video felt incredibly insightful to taking a simple but beautiful approach to bring depth into my art. Thank you Sam!🌌
sam is getting more and more creative with his intros
this was so helpful (as a beginner artist) thank u sam as u have helped me alot through out my art journey
Thank you so much!! I've recently switched to digital art and was feeling so stressed and overwhelmed whenever it's time to color a drawing. This has really helped me slow down and think broad to small, rather than obsessing about every single small detail from the get go!
We’ve been watching bro glow up for years now. Chill before I fall in love Sam.
I NEEDED this. Thank you Sam!!!
We knowing Color Theory with this one 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯

I really love the color picking tip to check hue/saturation/value before choosing your own. I’ve always wondered how some artists manage to get so good at training their eye to see color, but this is a super great tip for practice!!
Bro this video is golden, love how you went into details bout the blending
Finally some tutorials I've been waiting this my whole lifffffe
Sam doesn't know how clutch the was I desperately needed this right now. Was gonna quit art and it was a done decision but I kept seeing art things over and over and this was the last one I needed✨️
🖤🖤🖤
Just what I needed ! I was starting my digital art journey and planned doing a.lot.of reference studies for colouring after exams, and this is perfect timing ! Thank you sm Sam !
Your tattoo!!!!! 😍
I'm 30 and have always done traditional art, Im finally getting used to digital now all thanks to Sam. So helpful , love all of your videos Sam 😊 my fav TH-camr/artist
I really needed this for my art projects!! BTW I love the tattoo
This is actually very very helpful. I am really struggling with coloring a lot and i really need to learn how to do it.
wow now that actually blew my mind how simple yet how effective the whole process was. Really appreciate that. Thanks
Genuinely, this tutorial helped me make my first colored artwork that I was actually proud of. I only have it on my other socials but thank you so much Sam, your tutorials are amazing!
Yayy samdoesmen is backk
Amazing tattoo btw❤❤
Excellent job breaking these concepts down in a very digestible way and keeping the video light and entertaining.
This is by far the most simple and comprehensive coloring technique tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing. 🙏
My brain really IS the size of a bean! And this was the best colouring tutorial I have ever watched. Fun and easy to follow. Thanks a billion for sharing!
Why did I get jumpscared by Sam getting jumpscare in the intro. I legit jumped XD
I’ve been watching Sam for so long, and this is really helpful! Your art has always been my inspiration. Thank you, Sam. :)
Thank you for the lesson Sam!! And just wanna say your voice is so soothing
I think sam is in my walls.....how else would he know i was searching for tips on rendering?!!
literally
"It's not a phase mom!" Shouted Sam as he got a new tattoo
🖤🖤
I'M IN LOVE WITH HOW YOU CLEARLY EXPLAINING THINGS
From one smooth, small brain to another, THANK YOU, YOU ARE SUCH A GOOD TEACHER, I FEEL LIKE I LEARNED SO MUCH AND I'M FINALY BRAVE ENOUGH TO COLOR MY ART!!❤
that tattoo is awesome!
Love the tattoo Sam
This was so helpful, I was honestly waiting for a color tutorial from you, Thanks for this :D
Also sick tattoo!
I really like the emphasis on "personnal style" as to why go in a certain direction (making the shadow a more red tone for example) and the emphasis on "any blending brush" and not the one specific brush Sam uses, it's very important to encourage people to find what suits them best and I think Sam does a great job at that while still explaining a guideline to coloring
I love your tattoo!!!! When I saw it on insta I almost couldn’t believe you had actually gotten it and was so excited when I saw it in this video! The artwork and line work is amazing! The tattoo artist did a great job!
0:35 don't call me out like that😭😭😭😭
Lmaooo
🖤🖤
First of all the tattoo looks sick, second of all this video is so so helpful i really struggeled with coloring when i first started drawing digital art and this brings a lot of insight sooo thank youu sm
Best tips ever, when painting digitally one would usually be frightened by the huge difference in color of the shadow and light areas, and trying to blend them isn't that easy. Choosing the wrong colors will make the drawing look weird, as well as blending edges where not really needed. Small stuff one usually overlook. This video was a perfect way to show us how to deal with it. Thx Sam. 🔥
That tattoo is wicked cool👀👀
Sam just casually throwing his money at the start got me dying 😂
🖤🖤🖤
This genuinely shifted my understanding of art and coloring. Appreciate it!
You're literally goated for these tutorials. You help ppl like me a small and new artist
bro called me out on the toilet
didnt watch it all yet but thanks already sam!
Thank you so so much… not to float my own boat but I personally think I am quite good at drawing but whenever I try and render it goes to ABSOLUTE SHT! I have been watching videos upon videos about “how to colour” or “how to render” and none of them have helped me but this is genuinely so helpful.. again thank you so much you have just saved my (hopefully) good art career!❤❤
You explain better than any teacher I have ever had
This is perfect for me, i'm a beginner.

Why doesn’t this have more likes
You’re so helpful, seriously!
I tend to get caught up in the details, even when doing things like shading, it’s driving me nuts. Watching this really helps me see things in a different way and I totally didn’t just draw 5 different weird versions of that birdie just to practice-
this was super helpful any fun! follow you for years, but just found this channel. thank you Sam 🧡

HII SAMM
Thanks Mr. ur lesson helps me a lot. I used to struggle with skin tones but now my illustration more smooth and better.
As an begginer digital artist Sam helps alot! I have learned alot from him and now my art doesnt look so ass! I still use a phone and my finger but saving for a tablet and a pen:3 Thank you Sam!
Sam where are the birbs, c'mon be honest. You replaced them whith the chicken and you ate them didnt you.🤦♀
This tutorial is very helpfull! I’’ve always had a problem with colors in digital, but now I know my mistakes and can easy improve my skills. And your tattoo is stunning!
I love this style of tutorial that leads the viewer to finding their own solutions, instead of just saying "do this and this and that" and basically teaching people how to draw on the teacher's style. I also like that it's comprehensive enough for any artist to add steps as they see needed, it really just teaches the technique for color-blocking and defining edges. If you're a rim-light guy, you can do this and rim-lights. If you're a hyperpop guy, you can your pick crazy colors and lay them out this same way. If you draw animals instead of people, technique stays the same.
Sam being the 🐐 as always
this is my first time watching you Sam! Needless to say, i laughed the whole way through. Thanks so much for the tutorial, it made it less intimidating for to start colouring digitally again and perhaps even improve :)
LOVE YOUR WORK AND YOUR HUMOR AS USUAL!!!!!
I'm sooo thankful for this video! I was really struggling with adding colours to my sketches lately. This video just came at the perfect time! :>
I was literally gonna start drawing and you just uploaded...Made my day!!!

The hard and soft edges process is genius, I hadn't figured that out.
This tutorial is AMAZING!! I just did a drawing (and one of my firsts) following it and the result (although not good) was a lot better than I thought it would be. Great work Sam!! Thank you
