I'm barely learning about my gti/cars so i was wondering if it would affect my car at al or if I can even install a blow off valve on my automatic transmission gti?
+Alex Santiago Yes you can install a BOV on auto transmission though it wont vent as frequent as manual because it happens when you lift off accelerator ex shifting. A diverter valve holds boost pressure when accelerating then lifting foot off the gas recirculates air back into engine helping spool turbo faster. A blow off does the same thing but will vent the air outside. I plan on switching to the CTS BOV which comes with an electrical plug to prevent a CEL
@@FastSloW-qt8xf Yup, in the manual or dsg transmission you will notice a decrease in throttle response when shifting gears when venting to atmosphere instead of holding some pressure.
I had the same issue with the same code in my MK6. Replaced my diverter valve with the upgraded one from ECS. it was good for a couple of days but yesterday the check engine light came on with the same code
Did it sound like it was leaking boost? My mk7 threw the same code at around 127mph mid pull & afterwards it would only build 25psi with a pretty audible boost leak. I’m hoping a newer revision dv will do the trick. 😅
If you can hit 25psi it's definitely not the diverter valve. What boost pressure do you normally hit? My mk5 ko3 turbo at 100% duty cycle maxes out at 21psi due to the internal waste gate. If you were getting higher boost check your intercooler connections.

Did you have to reprogram your car so it can handle that new Diverter Valve? I heard it can cause some problems if you Rev it too much and cause combustion in your engine... how has it held up?
No it works fine with a stock tune or a tune file. It has nothing to do with the engine. Any combustion should be in the engine lol. It's function releases the boost pressure to the atmosphere apon lifting the throttle. The stock diverter valve recycles some of the air and puts it back through the intake.
