The steel front diff came in the v6 models of second generation trackers and vitara. I have a first gen sidekick 2dr and a second gen 4dr tracker. Love both of them for light duty wheeling. They are getting hard to find here in nova scotia without being complete rust buckets
Fred, you shouldn’t put anti-seize on lug studs. Installing the lug nuts dry is the recommended procedure along with hand torquing the lug nuts. Lubricant on the studs can cause over torquing and stretch the studs to a point where the clamping force is reduced.
Talking about tires , a friend of our family had an old I H scout and he put on a set of Armstrong implement tires . I think they were 11-15s . We did a lot of surf fishing when I was a kid and that scout was great in the sand. Then Armstrong came out with the TrueTrac and that seemed to be the go to tire in the 70s
I really dig the old style Coker tires. There a lot of old timers of the Land Rover and Land Cruiser crowd that prefer the tall narrow one even for airing down. Fred you should get a football to help inflate the fenders straight. 😂
Love it. I just got one for $300. It's actually super super clean. I just moved to Yuma Az and iv been driving the desert everywhere. It's actually pretty surprising how well they do in the whoop roads and sand. Think I'm gonna just run 235/75-15s on it. Just picked up 2. But it needs wheels the OEM ones are soooo fuggly lol
The early geo trackers had pale blue wheels with black paint with pink and blue graphics on the side and blue/black seats. A modern ish interpretation would be cool.
I used to always never seize the lug studs on my 4 by 4 too. BUT, Doing track days I found that anti sieze in the studs is a bad thing when the brakes are going to heat things up. I leave studs dry now.
Hey Fred, Great video, and looking forward to watching more Tracker upgrades! Can you please share the website where you purchased the rims? I have a 2002 2-Door Chevy Tracker and would like to upgrade the wheels and tires like your Tracker. It looks great! Otherwise, these are fun little vehicles to drive. Mine has 218K miles and still running strong...
I don't know shyt about sports? I don't even know how to play baseball? But 1 thing I know is cheap Steelies, and those are not the cheapest, close, but everyone knows that the White D Window Steelies are the cheapest! I can't remember exactly what I paid for the last few sets? But I'm pretty (15") sure it's around $40 each and I love them, I smoke more than that in a day or 2 ! I'm running the expensive Steelies right now on my first gen Tacoma S.A.Swap, 17" I think they were around 100$ each wrapped with 38x13.5x17 Milestar Patagonia MT02s , highly recommended for a Daily driver/offroader/Motorcycle Hauler, and great tip with the round bouncie thing? 😆 😅 Sports Suck! If it ain't got wheels, it ain't cool!
You never put anti seize on lug nuts they will always back off Rather disappointing that Fred doesn't know that and I know I'll get all the haters saying you can but every manufacturer says to not apply anything to lug studs or lug nuts I've been a mechanic 20 plus years and alway shake my head when I see someone recommend doing this
So, you'd rather snap fasteners and destroy threads when you are rotating your wheels, changing spark plugs, air/fuel/o2 sensors, rebuilding/replacing suspension or steering end links, hose and cv boot clamps, etc...? We do it because we don't like to deal with rust, galvanic corrosion, friction, etc...and most of our rigs are running larger than 33" tires, abused offroad and driven thousands of miles on the road and you know who's wheels fall off ? The people who don't use anti seize and then we have to stop and help them on the side of the road. Anti sieze is perfectly okay if you torque and re torque. Old dry threads are a bitch to work with and if you are a "mechanic" worth your salt, you should know that. I wonder why noone has ever called me and said anything came loose on thier vehicles I've worked on over the past 20 plus years ? Is it perhaps I always road test then re torque or maybe you're just in the wrong profession ?
Hey Fred: you gonna sell pink sasquatch gear? I've been jealous of that hat for years...
We need Sasquatch hats!!!!
@@johnnnyyuma SASQUATCH HATS! SASQUATCH HATS! SASQUATCH HATS! SASQUATCH HATS!
Fred...add the hats.
I love seeing these kind of rigs over the exotic full tube buggies.
Really like the Tracker. I’ve got a 92 4x4 on a 2” lift and 31” tires. They are very capable little rigs.
As the owner of a 78 Jeep CJ5 I like seeing the interest in short wheelbase off roading. About time somebody covered this!
I Am so Glad your putting all these videos out I miss dirt every day good luck and put more 25 to 30 minutes videos or longer I love your videos

That's some of the best basketball I've ever seen!

Sliders, would be a good add..
Like the little guy, new wheels look better on it.
Matte black over gloss black. The wheels match and, if you scratch it, its easy to match matte black paint. Easy.
Let’s see some wheelin of this cool rig. Love seeing you make technical trails look easy in these small rigs.

There's a guy in my town with a lifted Dodge Raider and the back is a little bed. I actually saw it this morning on my way to work.
iLove these things. i think the wider wheels llok much better.
Really hope you keep making tracker content. Sold my 2000 2 door about 8 years ago and just picked up a 2003 2 door.
Basketball trick is always useful and honestly fun!
i love the 80´s paintjobs. but a bright base color like a turquoise or orange mabye and some Z style stips on the side
Fred. Please do some wheeling episodes!
I really dig the old style Coker tires. There a lot of old timers of the Land Rover and Land Cruiser crowd that prefer the tall narrow one even for airing down. Fred you should get a football to help inflate the fenders straight. 😂
Go Fred!
I love it! I’ve got an 03
those tires bring back the memories..... it was so baller back in the day to have a set of 33's BFG's on your rig........ basketball trick was cool.

Nice trick. Don’t paint. Thanks for the content.
Awesome little rig!
For that 6.50 size look into the Japanese market. I often see Suzuki Jimmy owners running that size tire.
That’s such a cool little truck
You do a great job explaining your work! Love Dirt
Another cool dent repair trick is using a plunger. Just stick it to the fender and give a good yank. You would be surprised how well it can work.
Good episode fred
You have a lot a cool vehicles. Keep up the great videos. Still watch your show.
I do like the Firestone Tater Tot tread..
That thing would be awesome with the trail slayer kit

My favorite tire!

Love these trucks! I want one 😜🤘🇨🇦

More tracker shows!,
Love me some 33 9.50 15’s
Love the tracker! She’s got to be orange maybe with tan?
Another good one 👍👍
Paint it like the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe kids car.
Would be entertaining and cool to throw a turbo on it.
Looks ok to me
Whatever color you paint it the DED hood has to stay as is!
Jeff says red for the Tracker. Name it buckets after the basketball.
Nice intro!
might have to try that trick on my truck bedside where i got t boned by a deer
Paint it orange!
I LIKE EM BUT I LIKE THE FIRST GEN SPORTAGES WAAAAYYY MORE.
Leave the paint as it is and I chose motorsports as well
Probably pick up a fender and a door skin for $50 from a wrecker. Brand new fender skin is $100.
Fred... "4xfred" isn't working with OnX 😞

Use a smaller ball
Straight pipe drift truck?!
The paint will only be acceptable if it is the mirror image of pond scum. Splatter on top and vomit on the bottom.
Since you’re a farm boy why don’t you paint it John Deere green and yellow.
