Jill transforms the countertop backsplash with colorful glass marbles, and Charles is SO CLOSE to finishing the kitchen cabinets. Plus, we’ve been spying on wildlife again 🐻. The robins have taken over the solar array, and the phoebes have eggs. But we need to prevent bird strikes on the picture window of our travel trailer… so we’re trying out some UV reflective stickers.

Thinking of the robins under the solar array: doesn't it get hot under the solar panels? I'm guessing the answer is no since you would have thought of that, but why not? Don't the panels themselves get hot?
I like the plan for the backsplash. It's going to be very eye catching and unusual when you get it done.
Well, that did occur to us about the solar array maybe getting warm. But the robins are hopefully a better judge of that than we are... They had three eggs under there last I checked. Fingers crossed they don't get cooked!

Well, I posted in the middle of the video. Should have waited for the end. The backsplash is up and looks great. Can you get jewel colored boxes for the outlets?
I will keep my eyes open for jewel colored wall plates. 😁

It all looks beautiful! It must be nice to be home again. I have to say I'm not a fan of bears in the back yard, but you don't have kids or pets to worry about, so I guess it's ideal for observation purposes. It all looks beautiful. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Yaaay for the phoebes!! I'm SO happy they've been successful. I do love how you guys create habitat, accommodating the little birds and watching over them 😊.
The backsplash reminds me of the lovely, creative dwellings I've seen where they inbed glass bottles in the walls, often adobe. It's such a beautiful effect. Very nice.
I'm honestly not sure how I'd feel about having bears for neighbors 😄. I just wouldn't want to have a face to face while out walking in the woods. When I was a young child, living in the eastern woods, I had no fear. I was just a part of it. You guys are so competent and knowledgeable about everything from bugs to bears 😁👍.

Fingers crossed for the phoebes! (Don't count your phoebes before they hatch). We are feeling a bit ambivalent about the bears ourselves. We love that it's so wild here, but we try to be prudent with our trash and we don't feed the birds. Beyond that we keep our eyes open but we're not too paranoid.
Oh, and we LOVE Earthships and bottle walls! We wish we could build one here, but the terrain is not quite suited for it.
