Yeah, I don't get it. You could build/have built something custom to you that is bigger and better, completely outfit it and furnish it and still have a good chunk of change left over comparatively. The entire point of both "tiny homes" and modular construction was to save money. What went wrong?

A $20,000 Prebuilt Shed by the time you pay it off with Minimum Payments and Interest is ALMOST $38,000 and Still have to Finish it off AND Nothing Can Be Done to it Until it is Paid Off... BUT You Build that Same Size Shed Yourself or Someone Build it for you, It CAN Be Around $12,000... Saving you the $8,000 you can put into it and even Finish it off for Under $20,000....

Please keep in prayer all affected from Hurricane Helen last Thursday and Friday! From Florida on up into Western North Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee. I like this house. It has less of a modular look, and more of a Cape Cod look to it! A real wood/gas burning fireplaces would really set it off!
I love this house it is beautiful. I can’t say there is anything about it I don’t like I enjoy having the option of having wood heat if the power goes out where I live you can have heat. I am grateful for the information the reason being they sell modular homes not far from where I live so it would be possible if I seen something I was interested in. Thank you for doing an excellent job you are appreciated.
I like his videos and have been interested in several of the modular homes he has featured. I live in sw Florida and was looking at the Jacobsen homes and some others. However, there is a reason none of these modular manufacturers and dealers will post any of their pricing. It would turn away potential buyers immediately. I'm only interested in modular homes under 2,000 sq ft mostly interested in ones 1500 to 2000 sq foot range. The starting price is almost always $300k. My land (3/4 acre) cost me $60,000 and will cost another $36,000 for septic, well, grading, survey, land clearing, foundation, and electric to brought to the property. After selecting the trims and options I want the modular home comes to nearly 400k. So, when all done, I'm at 500k. Instead, my wife and I decided to just build a custom barndominium. It wasn't any lower in cost, but we got exactly what we wanted. I would love to have a manufactured home placed on my lot but so many of the ones I'm interested in are $300k-$600k. At that price point I rather just build and that's what we decided to do.
I absolutely adore this home. I could totally see myself living there! The only thing that I'd change would be the barn door. But that would be easily fixed. Love it ! Beautiful home !!
Hey Chance, love your content! And as a former Southerner, your accent feels like a family reunion! Also, your ‘bless their hearts’ subtle humor is sooo good.
As you were coming down from upstairs I was thinking this home actually needed a 1/2 bath, glad it has one. I'd like a half wall deviding the kitchen from the living room.

@janetmarshall7171 obviously apartments are a worse situation but I bought a move in ready 1600sqf house 3 bed 2 bath for 89k a few years ago. I could rebuild the entire thing for $100,000 and still be under this modular house. Real victim is the American public where this is seem as reasonable in the current market.
I used to do a house a lot like this. 31x36 with master down and guests up. Same deal with half bath down. I like how they disguised the dropped header by creating more beams on the ceiling into the LR. Makes it look more like a feature and less like the dreaded dropped header that a lot of people don't want in their open plan.
I absolutely LOVE this home! The bathroom and laundry room floors are a little busy but I think it works for this home and I actually love it. With the exception of the kitchen cabinets I would take this home exactly as it is.❤
It's a cute house but too small for us. I feel like there isn't much room for the living room, dining room and kitchen, they all kind of blend together. Thanks for sharing Chance.
LOVE this little treasure!!!! LOVE the sink in the corner with the two windows in the kitchen!!!! I don't like the one room kitch/living/dining room, but this one is ok. I will say, it does need a few more windows. I'd also have the master bed/bath upstairs, instead of having two bedrooms up there. I like this one very much. Definitely going on my "saved" list!!!!
This is a cute little house. Minor changes I would make but really nice. Having the upstairs really makes a difference. Thanks Chance, for continuing to show these different models. We all love it. 🥰🌴
This was different, but very nice. I was thinking of the word whimsical regarding the flooring lol... I really liked it 😊. It is a very well done house 🥰
I really like this house----inside and outside. I like the look of the outside very much and the layout of the inside. I would only get rid of the shiplap, the barn doors and the carpet. Everything else is beautiful. Great tour Chance, as always. God bless you and your beautiful family!
Really nice home. Would like the dining area a Lil bigger. Nice primary bedroom. The bathroom in primary is very nice. I do like this. Be perfect for me were I'm solo. Thanks for the tour Chance.
I like the outside of the house,i love the size of the livingroom just right for a nice couple ,love all the cabnits around the frig. I have always liked the microwave above the oven and stovetop, love the upstsirs rooms for guests, and i love the downstairs main bedroom and bath ,love the mainshower, ythank you chance i love this home❤❤❤😊
Ok, lovin' this pretty little house! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! If you bought one, you probably could just have one long closet instead. I would probably update the laundry room to take out that master bath door; move the appliances to that wall and put in an exterior door...
Quirky! Different, like taste I’m in decorating. The tile pattern in the bathrooms and laundry is a pattern HD sells and I almost put the in a ceramic tile for my master bath. Loved your video. You’re very delightful & we love seeing you. God bless you, too. And we’ll keep pressing on!
it took me a while to realize the "his and hers" idea going on with the double closet and the double sink, I'm honestly in love with that model. definitely wonder if they can ship one of those to the Valley out in California
Love the trim work around the doors and windows. Of course the master bath is wonderful. Would be thankful for the half bath to no end. Great size and floor plan. Yet another good home plan from your channel, Chance. Whoa, the pricing is hard to swallow. I purchased a new 2004 2000 sq ft Solitaire home with all the upgrades for $65,000. My how times are changing. 😊
These are lovely starter homes I wouldn’t say no to something like this or to live in America. I’m uk it’s impossible to get on the housing market and you’d get a lodge similar to this but not as great for sure and not as big as this and you can’t live in it all year round either. I love the idea of American Life 🙌
This is an excellent option either for small family or housemate situation. The square footage is well utilized enduring ample, yet not too much, space in both the private quarters and the main shared living areas. And with a total price range of $330,000 or so, you need an income of around $82,500 per year to swing this cottage, translating to $27,000 annually person assuming 3 people live there.
What a cute little house. Haven't seen the inside yet, but I want the outside at least! I love that dormer area upstairs, it would be perfect for a desk or reading area. The kitchen had plenty of drawers although it could have used a pantry, but still an adequate kitchen for a small family. The word for the flooring is chaotic. I don't like it. Too busy. Otherwise a great little house. I love it. I might do things a bit different, such as I need a stairclimber to live in a two story house. If it was built on a basement, then you could have a pantry for canned goods and things like tha that. Flour and sugar that come in paper bags needs to be put in plastic or glass containers to be stored in a basement. Love this house. Most people would assume it is stick built. I do love your plaid shirt. I love the fabric. I have been collecting plaid fabric to make a quilt out of them and your shirt would be perfect in it!
WOW Very nice starter home, the tile is too dizzy for me I would have to upgrade that. RANELL have really out done themselves with this home. Good WIFE save moment, I Loved how you kept eyeballing that cabinet door to close, you might want to invest in Dixie Plates OR don't make your wife mad.
My car dealership was 2 doors down from you for a decade. Peak! We relocated to Hickory into a big store. Good luck. Also any NC mountain ranges to not have lot restrictions
Looks awfully similar to a lot of the smaller bungalows built around the 1920s in my area. Especially on the 2nd floor. Obviously some modern improvements, but very similar.
Love the overall layout, especially the kitchen and upstairs, but agree with everybody else that the tile is simply too busy for the larger areas. It could be cute as an accent tile, but it's just too much as a main. Reading the comments about the current base price made me laugh. Looks like I'll never be able to afford even a small prefab, but at least it's fun to look!
High 200s is wild for a small sub 1600sf home 🤯

Absolutely bonkers.
All for the low price of almost 300k. Holy hell that's outrageous.

But it's still cute.

Way to much money, for what you get
Happy birthday to the person in the hospital.
