On the portrait selfies, the Note 8 was terrible, the Pixel 2 was the best, (that’s coming from an iPhone X user)

The rx100 is def the best, the reason why it doesn't look as nice is because the phone companies use a lot of software to enhance the colors but you could easily modify the camera settings to get a better picture.

i think we can't compare Sony RX100V with a smartphone camera . the sony has lot of potential and can do much better and make professionel photos and videos rather than just taking a simple shots & selfies in auto mode

The Note 8 can take portrait shots with the front camera. The mode is called "Selective Focus". The Galaxy S8 also can create portrait shots with front facing camera and it makes a great job in blurring the background.

That pixel 2 take some amazing photos, iPhone 10 looks really sharp too , note 8 looks really good has well , all the phone looks really good !
rx100 is better of course, it showed all the wrinkles and your hai looked more detailed

Portrait of the pixel 2 is amazing, for the rx100 you need to manually increase the aperture to max 1.8 to get the blur effect. But the sharpness of the RX100 can't be matched with the pics and the video.
RX100 has way more detail but the other 3 are all good for phone cameras, I say it's a win-win-win-win situation. Don't make you're buying decision based on the these phones cameras make it on something else like.
I genuinely loved the iPhone X’s camera much more! Apple really did such a fantastic job with their X camera!
The Pixel 2 was better especially in photos, the sharpness of the image and the color balance pleased me more! This channel has an incredible quality and a beautiful youtuber, I am a fan of Brazil.

Now this is my opinion so you can either agree with me or you can dislike it, I don’t care 😂😂
You did great work, but I know for sure you had the Note 8 on a flat or off Color theme or mode when you were using it for your vs and compare purposes. I own a galaxy s8 plus and there is no way it looks washed out as bad as your note 8. Since they share the same camera sensors, I believe you accidentally did not have it on auto mode or had it stuck on some weird white balance manually.
My s8 video and pictures in good light has vibrant HD colors that pop with sharp textures that would blow away any camera in this video with it on all auto default settings.
Either you had a broke note 8, intentionally set settings to make it look bad, or had it on something that washed it out. Even the front camera was the same way leading me to believe you set both cameras on note 8 to make everything washed out.
This is why professionals show and verify with proof the settings of all cameras on video before, during and after to show it was not intentionally altered. All Samsung phones and camera sensors with software make everything too colorful and vivid since the days of the first galaxy phones. I know because I have owned most of them.
Great job on the reviews and hard work, but to be professional you have to do it correctly.

Pixel 2 has the best in my opinion. the colors are amazing and when you use portrait mode, it doesn't over blur the edges like the iPhone does.
I personal like pixel for pictures.
For audio the Note 8 was the best it was pretty realistic....

You should update to 8.1 Google activated its visual core chip dedicated only to the camera making it alot better than now and the update also fixes the audio by aloooot
iPhone X best audio by far. Def more contrast & bumped color but it's still most close to natural color. Others had a pink cast or were blown out.

I'm a professional photographer. The Note 8's color balance and density are WAY better than the others (in this video). The photos from the Note 8 were pleasing, and most importantly, you can still edit them later - more so than the other phones because of the natural starting point. The image from the iPhone appears to be way too punchy and contrasty. However, I'm assuming that some simple setting adjustments can alter the way all these cameras produce images. For example, the Note 8 can produce more contrast and iPhone can "flatten" it out more in the settings. For the trained eye, the Note 8 is the clear winner and the Pixel 2 looks great as well... in THIS video.
BTW, those blurred out backgrounds is just a gimmick for now and are a long ways from looking natural. *And you shouldn't be taking 5 minutes to setup one shot, people.* "move forward" -- "move back" -- "raise up the camera" ... By the time you go through your photographic procedures, your dog or child would have long moved away. JUST SHOOT THE DARN PHOTO. Capture your moment. I don't want to sit through a long photo session with your iPhone. Just shoot!!!

I like pixel 2 camera.
I love my iPhone X, and I’ve had an iPhone since they first came out and don’t ever plan to switch. However, being the makeup collector/lover/hoarder that I am, cosmetically, the Pixel pictures looked best. It almost appeared to have a skin smoothing feature and your makeup showed up better in the photos.
Pixel2 is the best followed by iphone x nd rx100

BadBoy ` Its mostly the ai google uses. It enhances pictures with a special built in chip. Its also why they can do a portrait mode with one camera

The Pixel 2 crushed it. You can tell it's a Pixel photo because of the sharpness and saturated colors. It just looks so pleasing to the eye.

I think I like iPhone x's portrait mode best but I did also like the Pixel 2's front-facing camera on portrait mode. The only problem I have with the Pixel 2 is that the portrait mode on the rear camera is kinda spotty, and it didn't blur the whole way.

I think I'll pick the Pixel 2 (XL)... I love the iPhone X but the Android phones are more versatile! I've had Android and iOS phones for years and Android you can make really yours. And you can adjust settings from the camera app instead of going to the regular settings as in iOS. To bad iOS is so outdated. Not even has split screen...

And btw I was iPhone user 9 years ago, till now I used Samsung, cuz in my country in that time every update would lock my phone. But now I had to switch cuz iPhone is more reliable then android, cuz Samsung after some time would start to get alot of bugs, viruses and would crash all the time, that’s why I switched. But good lucky with that Note 8, it’s a great phone too 👍😊

Pixel 2 but I suspect if the rx100 was set manually it would have the better shot. Missing a low light test where I also believe the rx100 would be the victor with the larger sensor. Best audio I think was the iphone though.
good call definitely missing the lowlight test here. All of these high end flagships perform well in good light, it's lowlight where things get interesting.
It's incredible how good all of these are! Like the RX100 did not stand out in any way. If I HAVE to choose a winner, yea the pixel overall; iPhone X for selfies (pixel 2 did too much smoothing for my liking); Note 8 for video audio BY FAR. But yea, any of these are f*cking excellent!

I have a Note8 but i myself did some comparison with both of these 3 devices and literally Pixel has the best front camera tone ever, back camera video is IphoneX and the audio clarity definitely Note8.

LATE, I know but the Note 8 has a front facing portrait mode as well. It's called "Selective Focus". Just open the camera, switch to the front camera, and swipe to the right -> and you'll see "Selective Mode".

RX100 is a winner in my opinion as because it’s a real camera and it serves more features than smartphones like.Better 4K video quality Way Bigger sensor ( typically in this case 1’ is very good for compact usage )And there’s allot more option for image and video quality, including bit-rate, frames per second.Does support both RAW and JPEG.Generally you can’t compare smartphones against digital camera.

my problem with my iPhone 8 Product Red is.... the front facing camera imo sucks. I just came off the pixel 2 and i was disappointed the iPhone 8 couldn't take portrait mode. Most of my pictures, especially in low light look very grainy on iPhone 8 compared to Pixel 2 which looks perfectly fine.

I am neither an apple fanboy nor a samsung fan.Samsung is better than Apple in many ways and as well as apple is better than samsung in many ways.Iphone 10 is supposed to be faster than note 8 but it is loosing against all speedtest i have reviewed.The main reason is there are bugs and other factors such as app optimisation that have not yet done.These bugs include iphone 10 is not getting full wifi speed causing the webbased applications to slow down.A number of regular apps are not yet optimised for a screen with a notch.All google apps are unoptimized for iphone 10.iphones are faster than samsung phones.If you dont believe that watch the video iphone 7 plus vs note 8 speed test on everything apple pro.If iphone 7plus on ios10.3.3 can win so why not iphone 10.
On the other hand there are five factors why people hate apple;
1. price
2. Note 8 body design is better than iphone 10 and is also notch less
3. Low customisation
4. Less productivity such as no apple pencil support
5. Lack of touch id because some people dont believe face id is accurate.
