Installing SPPC Smoke LED 3rd Brake Light On My F150.
Pretty easy besides having to take the headliner down.

Kudos for a job well done. Going the extra mile to drop the HL to get to the plug is the BEST way. Splices invite corrosion.

Thank you for making the video, it was very helpful because my 97 F150 needs the same thing. I wonder if buying an original type light housing and replacement led bulbs would work well as an alternative for someone that didn't want to get into their headliner like that. I am pretty sure mine wouldn't go back the same way it came out due to some areas that well worn.

Yes I would see why not and yes it was kinda a pain just for a 3rd brake light 🤷‍♂️

nice video. im fixing to attempt this on a 2001 ext cab for the same reason. do you think cutting and splicing would be easier then undoing the headliner? i couldnt really see the connector for the light in the video, just saw the dome connector.

Yes you could splice it. You would only need to get the headliner to come down enough to get your arm in there to unplug it.

Oh yes I fully agree. If I would of realized it before hand I probably never would of done it. Especially since when you mess with a headliner that Is older it hardly ever goes back the same lol.

@@killrspeed00 well, believe it or not, i got it on last night. only because my headliner is trashed in the first place because of a water leak. i was just able to pull it down far enough get in there and get to the plug-in. took me about an hour of messing with it though. Also, just curious, have you had a leak in the back of the cab in your truck? If so, where did it come in from and how did you fix it?

@@williek0314 my truck leaks in that spot but I went over the gap between the black trim that surrounds the back glass with rtv silicone and sealed it up anywhere I thought water could get in and it stopped leaking but now I have to fix the water stains I guess lol 😆

I had them turned on to show them on. I was using the doom light switch.
