I really appreciate all the people who take the time to show new things or,especially, how to do things for myself. I do have a pet peeve though. Demonstrating a procedure or just showing a product when it is not in frame. If you are showing me something but all I can see is the back of your hand, it is not helpful. That was a general comment, because you are not alone.
It isn't as easy as it looks to video these kind of shots since many times the work is in a tight space. I try to be aware of where the camera is, but it doesn't always work out well. Sometimes it simply is a time issue as I am trying to get the task done and this is just a side hobby. Anyway...your point is very much legit and I will continue to try to improve the videos. Thank you for your input.
I've been contemplating on getting those headlight assemblies reading the reviews on Amazon. A lot of ppl say they are cheaply made and have installation issues but now I seen your video And I think I want them. Lol
just get them. . .I've had them for 5 years now and one of them barely faded because when my radiator failed on me I got some tranny fluid come out of the reservoir and run down the assembly. The other one is still brand new.
With the hyperflash issue, if you buy a LED bulb from a brand that makes them with a built-in resistor, you shouldn't have that problem. The hyperflash is due to the fact that the vehicle was originally designed to use halogen bulbs, which use more energy than LED. There are plenty of brands, including Lasfit (which I run in my 01 F-150), that designed their LED bulbs with resistors to account for this problem. While the cost is likely a little more for these better quality bulbs, they more than likely make up for the time it takes to make cheaper bulbs work right.
thing is i woudve done that but I already installed mine with 12$ sylvania turn signal bulbs so I'm just gonna get a led flasher because its not as expensive
not sure on your leds, but generally on most leds in my experience, the plastic part can sorta twist off, (little tabs kinda deal,) allowing to put the mounting ring on, then the led plastic back on. but anyways, i like the look. need new housings myself, was looking at projectors, but hmm... this does look realy good
Lynx Genisys mine has set screws that will allow for the assembly to come apart. I found out about that after replacing them :-/ I did make a note of that in the description.
Two Keys sry, im bad for not reading descriptions! on a side note, does that allow them to be adjusted? i know the newer lights are "better"/"brighter" as they allow essentially the depth of the led to be adjusted, which in turn places it into the proper/ideal spot in the reflectors to allow for optimum light output. just curious, as i stumbled across some today advertised as such (grand west catalog) as i understand, thats a key reason the newest Phillips? and another brand i forget, are seemingly so much brighter/better as they're closer to the original halogens position.just curious 😁
NO he didn't. I saw him the other night and it damn near blinded me coming down thwe other side ot the street...Too many runnng around with the alignment off without a thought. I know in Cali you'll get a citation if you headlights arent aligned properly.

Not the same case with my 02 f150 XLT V8 4.6. taking off the headlights requires to deal with 4 plastic arrow pins that . Plus my led lights required certain modifications to the wire....pain in the ass!😑
Save your money and time and install oem. You can thank me later. By the time u buy all that and then pay a shop to adjust them properly...it's too much.

Dont cut the bulb retainer remove the collar with the allen key install collar and reinstall retainer

The screw on the plastic ring is in plane sight that you can easily see and also should of done you're research on the install of your led headlights.

The dimmer switch is same as turning signal arm, simply pull back for dim and push forward for brights

Assuming that low beams and high beams worked with your old lights, it sounds like you got some bad bulbs. I would send them back.

Absolutely, they are much better. I would like to try a different brand though. The brights are not much brighter than the low beams.

Don't cut the retainer remove the collar on the led light...
I got roasted several times for that. Unfortunately, they had no instructions on how to remove that base to put the ring on it.
For those who did this conversion, part numbers? And cost? Is it worth it to upgrade this when my 98 expedition is valued at 700$?
