Not advisable to make any changes or experiment on day of competition - try a cold shower and a strong coffee instead of the weights. The weights are wrecking you. A better idea to get ready for block starts is during your race warm up do some hurdle jumps or similar plyos. Include some drills that mimick the shin angles at the start such as wall drills
Block work before a race is never a bad idea to get comfortable. For you I may recommend a less steep angle on the block pads as it may make it easier to maintain proper angles when coming out. Good work keep going!
