Hi buckman i have a misunderstood you said that light roast need faster flow rate why to do this and dont just grind finer and make bigger the ratio?

This is due to water being the limiting factor in this equation as water will get to its saturation point and cannot continue to dissolve any more. If we have more water running through the coffee we therefore can draw out more of the solubles locked in there.

Do you think that other Baratza grinders, such as Vario or Forte, can be paired up nicely with the Decent espresso Machine?

They can work, but I'm not a fan. My feeling is that Baratza make great grinders for pour overs, but not great for espresso.

Decent Espresso Machines Would you please specify your statement? I have a BDB (Sage actually) and the Baratza Sette 270 and a pretty sophisticated prep setup. I’m thinking of adding a decent espresso machine since my interest and skill in coffee making increases exponentially. I was thinking of upgrading to a Etzinger etzMax. Because I love the low retention, simple cleaning procedure and fluffy grounds of the sette.

@@whyilovethemoon Which statement do you want more info on? The Etzinger etzMax looks great, but a bit too much to spend if it's for home use. I'd recommend the Niche grinder for the home.

Decent Espresso Machines I would appreciate if you’d explicate more why you think the Sette or overall Baratza grinders are not good for espresso. Because I’ve made different (rather very good) experiences with them for what they cost.

@@whyilovethemoon They generally have trouble grinding finely, and I've seen then cause espressos that channel.
That being said, I have no interest in convincing you that one grinder is better than another. If you like your baratza great.
